Quiet worky catchy up kind of day today, but at least the sun shone a bit!

    ;)MFW actions:

Shockingly I have nothing to report apart from a NSD. Sadly although no money went out, none came in either ~despite best efforts of chasing big corporation client they are having "system" troubles which have affected all electronic payments from USA or Legoland or some place so I've not been able to convert it and put across to MOP  Don't they realise I have a challenge going on?
    SMASH day 5 / 100 = £ 100 / £ 3,000

    :(Grey Clouds:

    Nope, nowt there either.

    :)Silver Linings:

This is definitely silver and not grey ... I have decided not to dye my hair any more, I'm going to let nature take it's course and see what happens. Am having hair cut tomorrow so will take advice on whether to shed the whole head and start over or go for the painful skunk stripe and trim scenario.

From the MSE point of view, a ruthless cut now would mean no spending on haircuts for at least a year, but as I have "only" an inch or so of regrowth at the mo (and shoulder length hair) it would be cost cutting with an emphasis on cutting! Not sure I can go that far in pursuit of downshifting and embracing self malarkey!

    :pDaily Declutter:

Nowt there either, although I did reduce price on tumble drier on Gumtree as have had no nibbles on that. Total ongoing 164 / 365.

    :DSimple pleasures:

    * Caring "virtual" friends and kind visitors
    * Baby birds

... yes, you knew I wouldn't leave you all off, but I'm afraid today's big simple pleasure has to go to the fact that we have now moved into cost-saving lettuces (ie: amount paid out on seeds, compost etc has now been met in terms of lettuces harvested, using Mr. T for comparative pricing) so we are now into money saving when we harvest, which we in style with today's lettuce, check out this beauty ....

:o Please excuse background mess, Mr. Hbbb was making his specialty guacamole to use up over-ripe avocados and he's the messiest cook on the planet!

To add better notion of relative size, this is how much of the sink it took up when preparing to wash it ...

    June-2014-018-e1401997438980.jpg

We had about 6 leaves which made a whole bowl of salad for the two of us and the rest is lurking in the fridge for tomorrow! Forgive me, but I just had to share, so darn proud of my lettuces ... it feels good to be back in the swing of growing and being productive in the garden as part of the MFW / MSE plan!

Hope everyone's OK and all set for the end of the week. This time tomorrow the weekend will be all ours!

That is a lovely looking lettuce! It also tastes a lot nicer when you've taken it straight out of the ground, as with all veggies :)

Many thanks for your kind remarks about my lettuce ... most kind, and you're right A*M, a full head of lettuce indeed!

Short version of update that I was too meh to put up yesterday:

    ;) MFW actions:

Pay is still delayed in a tolerate-this-or-your-children-will-be-next-kinda-way, not just for me but other virtual colleagues too, so no MOP for this week; still no uni money either ... do these people see me coming or what?
    SMASH day 6 / 100 total still £ 100 / £ 3,000

    :( Grey Clouds:
Mr Hbbb's bad week at the coal face culminated in A Very Bad Day. Suffice it to say that he's now well and truly lifted his head above the parapet by refusing to "play the game" choosing instead to put his learners at the centre of what he does in the classroom (my hero for this part). New broom is now bristling in his direction (still my hero but the title of this thread has never felt truer, to Mr. Hbbb too :( )

    :)Silver lining:
I had about 2ins cut off my hair and feel much better for it!

    :pDaily declutter:
Nowt except aforementioned hair! Not sure that counts!

    :DSimple pleasures:
After his bad day, standing with Mr. Hbbb enjoying the multi-sensory experience of standing under rose arch, fully fragrant and buzzing with bees!
