Well, that was a day and a half!
What I did:
* Work.
* Fill out student registration form.
* Panic about bedroom decorating and clearing of Fleabay "treasures" cupboard which will have to be done before arrival of said students.
* Voted, not because I think much of the politicians, but as a tribute to the women who died so that I have the privilege of voting.
What I didn't:
* Wear my pedometer and I'm sure I walked miles!MFW actions:
* Accounts sorted ready to make MOP tomorrow.
* £2.10 dressing table kill claimed for sealed pot having been carelessly abandoned by Mr. Hbbb!
* NSDGrey Clouds:
Met my deadlines but didn't quite get as much other work done as I should because ...Silver lining:
Two of the American contingent managed to fit me in for a flying visit (2 hours) late this afternoon ... we had a right old catch up. I can't describe my relationship with these ladies, we came through some hellish times together 34 years ago (makes us sound ancient but I'm still the baby according to them as I'm in my 40s as they've all passed the half century) and it was like we were still in the bedsit one of them had trying to sort out our issues with families, boyfriends, future plans. Amazing!I'm so sad to see them go and have now decided that I will take all the sensible advice I've been given here about how to manage FB nowadays and I will give it a go and make the effort to keep in better touch.
Daily declutter:
Nothing out today but I did list tumble drier on Gumtree (also an MFW action to cut down bills and bring in extra cash to cover rest of decorating of bedroom).Simple pleasures:
* Genuine hugs from genuine friends.
* Genuine hugs from lovely OH who appreciates the impact of some of the issues raised by the afternoon.
* Harvest of fresh lettuce for tea - including free meal of washed off slugs for chooks ... yup, these lettuces are organic alright!
And a special simple pleasure for Tilly:
Hope everyone is good ... nearly Friday! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

You didn't say that when Natty posted the pic of her twig :rotfl:.
I agree, they are beautiful :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks Goldie, Tilly, Gally and Alchemilla ... I know growing flowers too means less space for produce but it makes for a good mix in the garden to look at as well as a happy mix of emotions ...seeing the produce growing and harvesting what you need for tea time is very satisfying but looking at the blooms and colours makes me very happy and peaceful!
Having said that, the broad bean flowers are extraordinarily pretty and I shall be quite sorry when they become edible rather than decorative (although it might be because Mr Hbbb has planted 3 tonnes of them - rough estimate)! Will try to get a photo of them now that I'm getting the hang of posting pictures on here!
Happy Friday to you all!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

:T Never heard this one A but my goodness I think it's true ... having an OH who brings home the odd bottle of bubbly (MSE style from L*dl) and can grow 3 tonnes of broad beans and plant a dahlia patch with equal aplomb whilst I raise a fine bed of lettuces makes me feel very happy (and lucky) indeed! Thanks for sharing that! x

What a lovely day!MFW actions:
* NSD - claiming this one twice because Mr Hbbb wanted to get a takeout but persuaded him towards h/m oven chips, home grown eggs and home grown salad instead!
* £10 Love to Shop voucher received from survey ... have added to Xmas voucher pot (my plan is to offset voucher value from Xmas sealed pot and use the cash to OP mortgage at the time) Today's addition brings total of vouchers so far this year to £185.
* £250 MOP paid, total of £500 so far this month, but of course we did have to shell out for new door so in reality with the extra Mr Hbbb has donated we're just about breaking even on extra paid out!Grey Clouds:
Still chasing one client for casherooni ... Don't they realise people have mortgages to pay off?Silver Lining:
Have clear work plan and schedule for next week so going to have me a complete day off tomorrow and potter in the garden.Daily declutter:
Nowt out but charity bag through the door for pick up on Tuesday so will do a 15 in 15 with that over weekend!
No nibbles yet on the tumble drier.Simple pleasures:
Bed stripped a.m. and linen hung out on line before I went off to client meeting. Completely dry by the time I got back at 6pm so it's now back on the bed ... crispy line-fresh linen!
Hope it's a happy bank holiday weekend for everyone and happy half hour to all you school-based colleagues out there! X

Funny, busy old day but with a relaxed approach to the busy-ness!MFW actions:
* Continuing long term MF goal of comparing renewal quotes rather than just automatically renewing, spent a little while on the MSE energy comparison this pm and have now swapped providers to save £189 p.a. As the dd comes out of the mortgage account, all savings will stay in there as an OP so that's kind of an extra £189 MOP to come when the switch is formalised.
Posted query on the energy thread too and very helpful folk over there! Love the MSE boards, so helpful on this whole journey! :money:
* £30 cashback as part of switch too!Grey Clouds:
Spendy day apart from that - decorating materials as we can now paint hall now that the front door is finished and I need to get that small bedroom done (although I've already got what I need for that). However, all within budget and hope to gain some back from tumble drier sale!Silver lining:
Out this evening with my mum and one of my sisters, to the theatre. This is a treat spend, but it's something my mum's wanted to see for ages and she really wanted a "girls' night" at the theatre, so it's also a kind of late birthday thing! Quiet night in for Mr. Hbbb!Daily Declutter:
A new charity bag has arrived, which will sit by the pavement again on Tuesday in the hope that someone will actually pick it up this time. 15 in 15 items decluttered into it so far! Total = 157 / 365.Simple pleasures:
* Being caught in the rain with Mr. Hbbb!
* Evening out with family to look forward to.
Hope everyone's having a happy weekend, hugs to those who need them xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

So, what' s the story with the rhubarb??
When we were having our after dinner cuppa in the garden the other evening I persuaded Mr. Hbbb that we should open the hen area gate and let them come through to tickle their toes on the grass. However, in the time it took me to go back inside to top up the tea cups, they'd "weeded" the rhubarb patch, baby rhubs and all!
And the moral of that story is never trust a chicken :rotfl:
Were there any side effects from eating the rhubarb leaves?
