    I know what you mean but I haven't experienced that since school! Perhaps the plan was the same though- to make the whole experience so uncomfortable that you don't want to go in there (which would keep your nose to the grindstone in a school or work context)!

    Grim though! Glad you have the simple pleasure of comfortable loo roll in your working day now! x

    Another day done ... and what a lovely one, masses of laundry washed and dried!

    What I did:

    * Minimum work as all deadlines met yesterday, so I called it a day at 2 pm, allocated any work that came though after that time into next week's schedule and had me some house / prep / money / admin time!
    * Lots of tidying up and housework.
    * Banking, bugeting and payments.

    What I didn't:
    * Get my list successfully posted onto Freegle - the site kept glitching and I'd right it all in and it wouldn't send, just disappeared each time. Mighty frustrating as I was hoping to see a few things out of the door over the weekend.

    ;)MFW actions:
    * £250 MOP made :j
    * Checked progress with Mr. T CC points stooze - now have £12.50 in vouchers so far.
    * Downloaded free trial of YNAB and started number crunching to see what else I can do in both short and long-term planning.

    :(Grey Clouds:

    Started vomiting again about 3pm, which is bally annoying, to keep being sick in my "me-time"! Irony is that I changed our bedding today after last weekend's bout to have a fresh start to this weekend.

    :)Silver lining:
    Mr. Hbbb out for evening for colleague's leaving do so I've had bath and am now cosy in bed with MSE thread, YNAB, books and sick bucket. Yup, Friday night is party night!

    Have been offered £200 grant for course I want to take in Summer. Mr. Hbbb has also offered to make a contribution too. I will have to investigate travel costs then make my decision as offer is only on the table for a week, I think and it's still quite a bit of money!

    :pDaily declutter:
    Lots of sorting and clearing done but nowt left the house apart from a few freed up boxes which ended up in the recycling. Can't really count any of that, which is a bit disappointing!

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * Warm bed with clean sheets - or is that clean bed with warm sheets?
    * Blackbird singing an even-tide lullaby whilst church bells ring in the background. If you close your eyes you can imagine you're in a peaceful country village of yesteryear, not within two minutes of M & S, the local shopping centre and the train-station! We're very lucky here!

    Bedding down for an early one now as I want to be well for school reunion lunch tomorrow!

    Happy Friday everyone X

    Hope you are better in the morning. Loved the image of birdsong and churchbells. We used to live very near a church and I loved the Weds eve bell ringing practice times.
    Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

    In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Thanks for kind thoughts Watty ... yes, last night's bells were from bell practice too, which seems a bit harsh to make the members do it on a Friday night, although knowing the community around here, they probably all go off to the pub afterwards and make a night of it!
    Happy weekend to you!

    What a lovely day!

    What I did:
    * Gentle housework.
    * Picked up by sis for school friends reunion - 8 of us in total, two of whom I haven't seen for 30 years! It was quite amazing really, interesting to catch up but also to sit back quietly and watch others interacting. Everyone's stories are so varied, but it's a nice group so none of that one-upmanship kind of thing that TV shows and films tend to portray these kind of gatherings as. I think maybe it's because were all pretty close in our younger times, so it was more about caring and sharing rather than anybody showing off.
    I will be thinking about all of this for a while, it all had quite an impact on me, especially as the girl I was closest to in the group (apart from my dear sis) died 10 years ago and I just hadn't realised it was so long (last time that 5 of us saw each other was at her funeral). There was much food for thought from today.

    What I didn't:
    * vomit :T

    ;)MFW actions:
    Treat spend on the reunion lunch, so can't claim a NSD; shifted a small Tilly Tidy over; will maybe do another budget on YNAB before bed (am trying out a few budging options to see which plan fits in best for meeting daily requirements as MOP challenge.
    After months of waiting for local college to call me back about hosting students, we had a flyer put in door saying they are urgently seeking them (this being part of the plan for extra money for MOP). Will phone them Mon although have not yet finished decorating bedroom which will be necessary before a student can go in there! :o

    :(Grey Clouds:
    Friends whose absence is made more notable by the presence of others, if that makes sense?
    The pressure to be on BookFace in order to stay in the loop more. I hate the platform due to spammy, stalkers of the ex boyfriend kind, but feel now that it's making me miss out on positive things, such as easier / better contact with these friends. Part of me doesn't want to be chased off, but part of me doesn't want to risk the hassle. Any thoughts gratefully received.

    :)Silver linings:
    Feeling a bit better today; being included in something lovely.

    :pDaily declutter:
    Two books passed on to sister = 140 / 365

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * Friendships
    * Surprise gift of two courgette plants from Mr. Hbbb who truly knows the way to a girl's heart :rotfl:
    * Tea time al fresco

    Hope everyone else has had a lovely day, hugs to all you MSE / MFW friends out there too! x

    How lovely to meet up with old friends, although it makes the gap left by loss even more apparent.

    I moved away from my home town more than 30 years ago, and I have lost touch with my school friends. While my parents were still alive, I could keep up with news, as my mum would sometimes bump into my friends or their mums. But now, I haven't got any ties with my home town.

    I just randomly googled one of the girls I knew from my earliest childhood. She lived in the same road as me, and as we were the same age we went to school together too. She is now deputy head of our old junior school. That doesn't surprise me - she always wanted to be teacher when we played at schools.

    Part of me would like to make contact but it seems too much time has elapsed since we saw each other, I don't think I'd feel comfortable about making contact after more than 30 years.

    I'm very wary of social media in general. I am a member of FB, but go on there once in a blue moon. I joined to keep in touch with my old colleagues, but never felt comfortable using the site.

    I prefer forums like this, where I can be anonymous, but pour out my deepest thoughts - it just seems safer that way.

    I can totally identify with what you're saying Goldie, although I am seriously thinking of giving FB one more try but purely on account of staying in closer contact with these friends. I shall think about it.

    I know what you mean about the anonymity about on here ... and I think the fact that we're all sharing a common goal helps too! x
