    I sleep fantastically if DH is away! :D

    App Fd - I find there's little discount on much of the stuff I'd buy - I only tend to order if they send me a free delivery code, and even then struggle to get to the min order for the free delivery. :(

    I abandoned my basket in the end as most things were coming up cheaper on Moi Supermarket and at least I know it'll have a long date on it from one of the bigger ones. Going to try to hold out until next weekend though before buying anything else in!

    Glad you can sleep OK, probably just as well in your case with him working away from time to time and little people to run round after, you'd be on your poor knees otherwise!

    Hope the back-to-school preps are going OK! x

    Morning Hbb - just wanted to stop by and say hello. Hope you are having a nice weekend :)

    Thanks BW ... I sorted out the bookshelves yesterday and now have a stack of 40+ books in the study, over 30 of which WBB don't want. Pondering my next move with them. A local 2nd hand book shop will give me a credit note or sell them for me and give me 20p per book (that's his standard rate whether it's trash fiction or literature). May ask my mum if she's doing another bootsale, I think I'd rather she had the cash!

    Bookshelves are looking better though and I found several that I can't remember reading so I've got plenty to be going on with too!

    Hope you're having a good one too! x

    Anyway, more important things ... did you pass inspection? Do they have the pawfect pooch for you?

    We got on really well, just waiting for the right dog to turn up now! The little pup is being seen by another couple so we'll see what happens. The last couple didn't want him because he has strange blue and brown eyes :eek: Can you imagine turning a dog down based on the colour of anything ? :mad: We will choose our dog based on personality so it will get on with our own little [STRIKE]madam[/STRIKE] lady, as long as it's not too big as we only have a small house!

    Doing good thanks Hbbb :)

    Awww Janey that is so sad :( Having odd coloured eyes would be a reason for me to have taken the dog - love quirky animals :p I hope you find a new furry member that is perfect for you

    :wave:

    So here's a mini update of yesterday, full update for weekend later:

    :) What I did:

    * Freezer and store cupboards inventory and food plan for September done (may just tweak weekly in respect of what produce is ready in the garden etc).

    * Yarn stash sorted and knitting / crochet / making schedule for Christmas organised and in diary. Yarn per project sorted into project bags ready to go.

    * Dogs walked for 2 hours to big park (including walk there and back). They walked really nicely despite the fact they are pretty big, strong and very excited when they know they are going walkies, I am small and weary ... they really walk better on the split lead than separately which was really good. All of us knackered by the end of it.

    * Work schedule for next week sorted (hoping to be able to take Friday off, if my other client payment has come through).

    * A little shuffling of hall furniture as I want to keep it clearer than it was. Wicker drawer unit to come down ... hats, scarves and mitts all washed and clean ready to go into it for ease of access in winter!

    * NSD achieved.

    * Sorted living room bookcases, decluttered books I don't want any more and brought lamp down from upstairs to make the bookcases more cosy.

    * Sat feeling cosy, finishing my granny square blanket! may keep, give away or sell, not sure yet.

    :( What I didn't:

    * Manage to catch up with anyone. It's a weird weekend, mum busy, one sister away, other sister has tonsillitis so packed her husband out of the way and went back to bed for the day with a Do Not Disturb sign, so whereas usually I see at least one, if not all of them each week, I didn't see any of them this weekend!

    * Friends all away on holiday, just got back and snowed under, in full-on back to school prep or poorly, so no catch ups there either.

    Still, it meant that I got on with everything without needing to pop off or to clear up for someone popping in.

    Today will be similar I think but at least the sun is shining properly in the background and doors are open.

    :) What I'm doing today:

    * Bathroom
    * Get end of month figure for mortgage, update JCL thread with MOP total for August
    * 1/2 hour financials
    * 1/2 hour study admin (sort out my piles, as it were)!
    * Make quiche
    * Make cake whilst oven's on
    * Pick ripe tomatoes
    * Bedroom
    * Finish clothes sorting and bag up outgoing items
    * Walk dogs with Mr Hbbb this evening!

    Hope you all have a good one x

    I told him that, and he just rolled his eyes!

    I tried some of my books on We Buy Any Books, but they only wanted 2, and it was a lot less than the £5 minimum. I'm now going to pop a few in each charity bag that we get.

    I do have some other books listed on Green Metropolis. I like this site, because a small amount is donated to the Woodland Trust for any sale.

    But it is very, very slow to sell, and as you get £3 per book sold, you only make 20p profit after postage.

    There'll come a point, probably at the next postage increase, where it won't be viable to keep on with GM, which will be a shame.

    I wouldn't recommend GM for quick sales, but once they are listed, the books stay on indefinitely, so for the odd sale here and there, I look on it as a bonus

    I agree, that's a pretty awful attitude. In truth he's obviously not pretty enough for them :mad:

    But blue and brown eyes ... the collie is strong with this one, he'll be a fantastic boy as at 9 months you can still train him into your own! Fingers crossed that he's meant for you. x

    Will have a peep at it Goldie, but I guess if it's the same 20p a book the local shop will give me, it may be easier to just take them there.

    :) I'm drawn to the Woodland Trust aspect though ... I bought each of my sons a tree years ago and they each got a Winnie The Pooh (as in 100 Acre Wood) certificate of ownership. They were so proud! Thanks for sparking the memory, haven't thought about that for years!

    Ok, so now going to move my 'arris and set to with upstairs! x

    Dd just lost my post for me and replaced it with web preferences!

    'yarn per project sorted' eh? Makes me giggle! Mine is also sorted, I'll have you know: cotton yarns in a bag. Fat wool in a box. Normal wool in another box. Don't do skinny wool. Odds and ends in another bag. All stored carefully on top of each other.

    But sewing is the current activity of choice - bunnies galore!

    Have a great day - hope Mr Hbbb isn't home too late. Did he go cycling? Any injuries to add to his tennis elbow?
