    Well done on the declutter. It is so good for the mind to have less stuff around. X

    :wave:

    Thanks SSS, you're right about it being good for the mind. I don't know quite what's wrong with me at the moment but I'm very unsettled and would really like to just clear the decks (I don't know if it's because we cleared the hall to decorate it and now I just want to keep it empty and carry on through the house to empty everywhere else to go with it)?

    Mr Hbbb thinks decluttering is going hand in hand with hormones and quite likely the start of the big M (even though I'm not yet in my 50s). I really don't know if he's hit on his latent sexist side or the truth!

    Hope all is going well at the new school! x

    I think that feeling unsettled is to do with the end of summer and changing seasons etc. Any news on the next set of students?

    The chooks are looking good!

    Has Mr Hbbb gone away for a few days now, leaving you in peace?

    Grr to the floorpaint - just keep the girls and hounds away from it - imagine the paw/foot prints they could leave on it!

    Wow! To the purple food day. Maybe you could follow a rainbow...

    Sleep well x

    :wave:

    Ta A*M, Mr. Hbbb just left!

    Sleep was awful for all concerned as it seems the neighbourhood cats decided on our garden for a night of fighting, yowling at the moon and rather loud hanky panty, all of which wound girl dog up a treat (bark, bark, bark) which in turn worried smaller, scruffy boy (whine, whine, cry) for much of the night! Mr. Hbbb has toddled off full of plans to just sleep on his journey (no, he's not driving, it's fine)!

    I have a morning of work ahead and then I'm planning a peaceful weekend catching up on chores, decluttering, MSE type activities in pursuit of 100 days AA challenge! In fact, day's list is shaping up (in no particular order apart from getting work done first):

    * Work (approx 3 hours)
    * Dog walk
    * Finish 33 items wardrobe quest; sort through all other clothes and bag up decluttered clothing for clothes4cash or Fleabay (decision to be made there)
    * Sort yarn stash and organise project piles to start Xmas gift making (as I've recently been reminded that Xmas is coming ;) )
    * Sort store cupboard and make list of dry goods needed to top up for winter stores etc. price up using My S'market and AF to find most cost effective way to top up.
    * Check for client payments, do online banking, spreadsheet shuffle and make a MOP!
    * Housework :(
    * Laundry ... whilst the sun is shining!

    But first I have to throw myself into the shower!

    Happy Friday! x

    Morning Hbbb

    Your chooks are looking great! My OH's parents had some ex-battery hens quite a few years ago and I couldn't believe the state they were in when they arrived (haven't bought a non-free range egg since) but they soon perked up and lived out the rest of their lives in the countryside :)

    It was great to read your menu plan the other day, it's just nice to get a few different ideas. I made home made potato wedges last night and although Mr Janey was initially very unenthusiastic about the idea, he really enjoyed them!

    Janey x

    Oooh! Forgot to say, we're being home checked for a new doggy on Saturday! I'm so excited :j Just hope our little darling behaves herself :eek:

    Thanks Janey ... it's good to know that they end up having a much better life. Your comment about the eggs is interesting too, because Mr. Hbbb is a dedicated carnivore, but since we got these girls and accidentally saw some awful images about the 'factory' farming of chickens for meat as well as eggs, when we were researching the rescue mission, Mr. Hbbb has announced himself to be a non-chicken eater from now on! :T

    Glad the menu plan was useful ... I always use paprika, garlic and chilli with my wedges and I do like them, much better than deep fried fries, in fact!

    Hurrah for home visit on Saturday, I'm sure your pooch will be impeccable and you'll be snapped up as a wonderful forever home! Any pics of possible pooches yet? Good luck! x

    :wave:

    It's just my personal quest to stay on top of the whole MF malarkey Bo ... 100 days of Autumn Austerity (see p.53, post 1047), I'm trying to MOP another £2,000 by 30th November. Today is day 7.

    Just finished working so am now moving into bank and spreadsheet shuffle mode in the hope of making my first MOP of the challenge, just going to have a cheeky sojourn with the chooks first, largely because the hen house looks like it has 5 teenagers living in it! Think those girls must have had a party last night ... a hen party, perhaps?

    :wave:

    Sorry Toots, I missed your message (been missing your thread too, will have a good look later)!

    You could be right about the change of seasons and impending change in general I guess. Having the students added a real structure to the summer and now Mr. Hbbb is back to work next week and we still don't know if we are having any more students (although we know we're not having them from the main summer school as they are now finished for the season). I think it's the not knowing which isn't helping - if I know it's not happening, I can tout my clients for more work or get new clients, but I don't really want to do that and then find we're having more students, as it was all a bit much before!

    I hope you're OK and not doing too much either ... happy weekend to you! x

    Ooooh, sounds just like our boy except his eyes are brown, but his mum was a blue merle collie and some of them have blue eyes so if that one's lurching from a blue merle cross it might be fantastic. Great temprament (if slightly batty in a lovable muppet kind of way). Excited for you ... hopefully she'll bring pics with her to show you tomorrow! Fingers crossed it goes well! x
