or don't subscribe to seller + at all, you can list for free at seller level and only pay a FVF if you make the sale. No risk at allThere is no such word as "bidded". I bid, you bid, they bid, Ebid0 -

Hmm - I think that means "I agree with you but I don't have the good grace to say so". eBid has been going for quite a while, so doesn't fall into the category of companies described.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Sadly I think the joy of my first sale is going to be short lived.
I have received positive feedback already and I haven't even been paid yet:rolleyes:
Also the 'buyer' now has a -1 rating for non payment and wasting time and a line through their name. On further investigation they have bought 11 separate items from the site and it looks as though they were just messing about.

Ebid fail to mention that they charge you a fee for registering a 'free' selling account.0

I'm sorry I didn't post on the thread for a while- I was busy selling stuff! It's quite likely there will be other gaps because my trading will always become before advice giving.
Mpython, I don't think anyone has ever said you can make a living 'just' using ebid. Many sellers use more than one venue.
This thread is for tips and advice on how to make best use of ebid as a venue. What I will never understand about forums is why people post on advice threads when they are not looking for - or giving advice?- If you have used ebid and have some tips to share- this is a good place to post them.
- If you have used ebid and have some questions about how things work. This is a good thread to ask them in
- If you have used ebid and have had problems with or on ebid you want to raise- again this is a good thread to raise the issues in, as your experiences may help someone else who is thinking of trying the site.
I will continue to visit this thread when i receive notifications in my mailbox, and i will try to give help and advice to people who have genuine questions about ebid.
Hi Val4xx
You helped me set up on Ebid about 6 months ago, thought I'd pop along and say a big thank you for that. Not sure why others are knocking it, if they don't like it - move on!
I sell mostly on Amazon, occasionally on Ebay (hate their upfront fees - so only list 'dead certs'), and from time to time on Ebid.
My listings on Ebid are BIN, it's what I prefer - especially as it unusual to get a 'bidding war' on Ebid. It's proved useful for shifting stuff that I might have listed on Ebay, paid the fees and then not sold.
I also check Ebid for bargains, and it is well worth doing so.
So, thanks again and for continuing to offer support for Newbies.

Well said Val! I buy & sell on eBid and I am happy with the service.
As I make unique cards - this is an ideal place to show all that I make and then make to order - as I sell locally as well, I give out my store URL for the shop owners to look at and they can choose the designs they like, which saves me having to have a full range made up to take round to them. I take the ones i have and then they check out the site to see other designs - works great!:T0 -
........If you are reading this thread and for whatever reasons you don't want to use ebid, or maybe you used ebid years ago and don't have any recent knowledge, You're not looking for help or advice on ebid, and you don't have any up to date knowledge of the site. Then maybe this isnt the thread for you.(my emphasis)...........
Are you saying I'm not allowed to pass comment? Or are only positive comments welcome?
From the evidence I've seen presented on this thread, it seems to me that ebid is a very poor place to sell (e.g the example of buying at a good price but selling on at a profit on Amazon). Plus the viral marketing nature of some of the contributions sticks out like a sore thumb. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0 -
Viral marketing? I would encourage eBid at every turn, simply because eBay is becoming bloated on its monopoly - if it had some competition the fees would come down and it would be more responsive to criticism. Are you implying that some people on this thread have a financial interest in eBid or something?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
