    Thanks beanie :)

So Mr El is making breakfast ( he took the day off from work to try to sort the roof) as he likes to spoil me :) then were off up the roof To try an sort it

I'm excited and nervous about tomorrow, I'm quite glad it's a relatively small group going as I tend to be an introverted person that doesn't do well in big groups, I'm excited about meeting new Mse members I haven't had the privilege of meeting before and also meeting some wonderful ones I have met previously ...

Mr El has made one batch of tablet and plans on making another batch today ... I've only eaten a few squares so far .. But it's still early days yet lol

Nothing to Tilly tidy just yet from the banks but I should have soon :)

It's looking as I we might go back to the fire idea but still waiting for the other quote and the guy to get back to us

Mr El has done a grand job, the roof is looking good, will obviously need to wait for the next strong wind to know if it's fixed properly ... But it does look good :-)

He must've saved us a couple hundred quid as well which was handy :-)

Went out to lunch today also ... Mr El had won an award at work the other month and we discussed going out for something to eat to celebrate him winning, sadly due to shifts etc that never happened, so today we decided to get out for a wee but after he had managed to fix the roof :)

I went into the opticians today to see about getting some glasses for my eyes, I don't need a prescription as my eyesight was perfect last time it was checked ( less than a year ago) but I've been getting migraines from bright lights and I sometimes struggle with PC lighting and mobile phone lighting ... Also the glare off of the road when I'm driving etc, so I was looking to get some lenses that would help with my eyes, I'm also finding at night my eyes are getting very tired and watering I rub them and they are becoming blurry so they are obviously tired

Optician one £218 for a driving pair and £199 for a PC pair ( different lenses needed in each) they don't know if either will help the migraines ( I have read it's a red light blocker I need as red light seems to cause the migraines for most people)

    Optician two ... Nowt

Optician three ... A pair of polarized lenses only but she doesn't know the price so can't help

Optician four... Yes I have heard of them ... But we don't do them at all

Hmmmm why can't anything I want be cheap or simple

The girl in optician one tried to talk me into a normal frame, I explained that I really need a wrap around frame as I know then my eyes would be fully protected, when I showed her what I meant she completely agreed, however thy would have to order them in specially for me hence the price ... Sigh ... Back to the drawing board

Think I will try using my oakleys and see if they help in the meantime as they really help in summer

Hi Elantan, so glad roof was sorted with minimum spend - well done to Mr. E!
Don't know what to suggest with fires. When we had a small multi-fuel burner put in, my BIL advised us as he worked for local council building dept - is it possible you could talk to someone at your local building control offices to find out what is and isn't doable in the type of house you have. They are neutral and won't be trying to get money out of you, they'll just want for you to be safe and not ripped off. Just a thought!
Hope the wind is now settled down for you all up there.
    Kind thoughts :)

Thanks Habiboo will look I to that on Monday, we went to the guys house that has just started his business the other night, he wanted to show us how much heat comes out of a 8 KWh so that we can figure out if the 7.7 or the 10 KWh is better for us

Went to a wee mini meet yesterday... I'm still in the hotel nursing a wee sore head just now... Was a great night and really fantastic to meet up with some MSE'rs ... I blame them for my sore head lol

I think the tablet was popular :)

Just heading home after dropping beanie off ... I blame my sore wee head on Beanie, Butti and ZTD ... Although to be fair they did also provide the pain relief lol

So, had the expensive night away, today I am going to be dealing with the fire stuff ... Then it's a case of cutting right back on the spending to start paying everything back, we need to do this before it gets out of hand, think I will need to leave the glasses till I can save up for them tbh

Also thinking about our 25th wedding anniversary which is 2015... So I have a while to save for it ... But I do actually need to do the saving bit so that we can do something.... I keep going back to the northern lights type things ... Will need to decide and start saving

Long term savings ( so part two of the master plan) came out the bank account today also the pension money came out ... Will need to re think some stuff around that as well as the goal posts have once again been moved
