Ladies and gentlemen I am exhausted utterly exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted ... Tonight I had to fight back tears at the thought of coming into work, I said to Mr El I ain't doing any overtime in February ... I'm finding I'm too tired to cook so have wasted more food in the last two weeks than I have in years and that gets me angry, my house is a tip, I have no energy to clean ( although I did manage to clean my son's house all last weekend 10 hours each day)

If you're wanting to go to Uni, you're going to have to learn to prioritise things. Health goes to the top of the list - do not pass go, do not collect £100.

Sorting your own things out also goes to the top. Son needs to clean his own house.

These need prioritising. As the notice on the aeroplanes say - put *your* mask on first. You're no use to anyone if you're a casualty.

Oh Z looked up ammo thingies, they look ideal but not sure if they are big enough ...

How big were you looking for?

I would have thought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-army-surplus-51mm-mortar-case-/181261690337 would have been big enough to store most of your photos - if not, buy more.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ex-Military-Aluminium-Storage-Box-/350968487668 should be large enough for books.

You can go up to http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Storage-roof-Box-Ex-Military-Army-/321302056248 - but the case alone weighs 30kg. That's probably the maximum weight you should be messing with in terms of manual handling. I have seen larger, but cranes were being used to lift the lid off.

Hey everyone thanks for the dodgy hugs and the advice much needed and thankful for...

well my last night shift got worse i had the boss in in tears again about the next day, there was no shift cover and she had to go to an emergency meeting regarding something ... so after doing a night shift i landed up having to come in again after a couple of hours and do another few hours work... whilst there i spoke to the boss and informed her that for the full month of February i will be doing no overtime at all, nothing, not coming in early or staying late... and that i need a break. Today i recieved an hour long phone call from the boss regarding a development that will have a huge knock on effect on myself and co-workers, it's very worrying and can have a knock on effect, put it this way i am glad that even though i have yet to start with this new job, i am glad that i have it there as a kinda back up.

Got a letter from uni inviting me to go for a testing session, unfortunately it is whilst i am away on holiday, i informed them of my holidays when i applied, but it is typical of my luck that that is when they want to see me :(

Have spent the last day sleeping and ironing and packing our bags so i am looking forward to getting away for a week.

That sounds worrying, El. Any way you can affect the outcome? Which job do you actually want?

Have a great holiday El and come back refreshed.

    i'm back :)

before i left i had a phone call from work , it really wasnt a very good call, there are going to be huge changes at my work due to the situation, some of which will affect myself, due to no fault of my own i will be moved units, there is no reason given for this decision, but the fact i get paid £2.50 an hour more than another person that can do my job seems to me to be a very good way to cut an excessive budget.

so we went away on holiday and had an amazing time, it was exactly what i needed, whilst away it gave me a the ability to step away from the situation and look at it from a macro perspective, my health cant sustain my current pressure at work, it cant handle the long hours and lack of days off, i cant carry on putting my work before myself, so i am going back with a whole different attitude, i am no longer going to be doing any overtime for my company, my basic hours will have to do from now on, i need to put my health first, i am fed up with not eating right, sleeping right, exorcising or spending any time doing what i want, i will start with job no 2 and if things get too much for me with my current job and the hours i want are there with number two i will be packing in my first job, yes it is a lower hourly rate and yes i wont have a contract, but my health and life has to come first :)

So holiday, well it was great, we ate slept and relaxed like two people that needed to find their centre again, i'm not entirely sure yet how much we spent but i reckon it must be in the region of £600 or so, which is ok and within budgeted plans, came home and yesterday ordered the matlepiece for our fire, so far it looks stunning, it is getting some work done to it to make it just perfect, like sanded and oiled etc it has a beautiful curve on it with some bumps and features, i cant wait till its fitted :)

other than that everything else is going great, i feel rested and ready to tackle life again,

hope everyone is doing well :)

Glad you came back all rested :D maybe moving units will make it easier for you to stick to the work to rule as you won't be seen as the softy that comes in every time they call...

You know Skinty when I first heard I was quite angry, whilst away though I saw the advantages and not being seen as a soft touch is one of them, I am now at the stage where I am excited about the changes whether they be at my current company or some future one :)

Have spent a great day today helping Mr El in the garden, we have managed to chop some more wood and got to spend a few hours together :)
