Lilty - it is always lovely to read your diary and gives me such a warm feeling, especially reading about your Korma. Wha does the post look like? Sleep tight tonight both you and Jelly xxx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Love ya right back Lilty - hope you have a lovely rest.
All the intolerance stuff is very real for me right now as I'm having terrible trouble, and am convinced that it's wheat (?gluten) and possibly dairy. I had a turn after a bowl of Weetabix, lol. It was almost funny, but not really if you know what I mean. If only it'd been a large piece of cake.... xDebt remaining:

For a while I was being naughty and sneaking treats but my main symptom is severe abdominal pain and now even fairly small amounts can lead to 4 days of rolling around making dodgy groaning noises. Joyfully at a recent appointment with a consultant he said that because I didn't have proper tests for coeliacs originally I wil have to reintroduce wheat and gluten for 6 weeks before endoscopy and biopsy (even though I tried explaining I can eat other gluten grains with no effect) this is going to be heaven and hell! The joy of proper cake and pastry, followed by physical pain and then mental pain of trying to wean myself off again.
Poor Jelly, hope she grows out of it.
Hope you get a good nights rest and can get back on track with YNABMortgage started 02/2015 opening balance -£183,349

Ah boy. Well it is official. My laptop has gone to the great laptop factory in the sky. It still makes all the right sounds but it has no screen. One of those pesky wires got pulled a bit too hard when it fell over backwards night before last and its a goner. I can't even hook it to the tv via a hdmi cable as it has no hdmi slot being such an old and decrepit thing. My main panic is my ynab. I know I can get it elsewhere but what do I do for NOW?!? Dropbox never loads it properly on my phone
Anyways I think posts will be few and far between until January when I can buy a new one.
Until then bon voyage peeps. If you wish, my email addy is my lovely unique username at me.com. I won't be far but it is a pig to try and chat on my phone on here! Hugs xx

And now that I can see the last post. Newme, it sounds like you are very similar to the Jelly and I. Gutting to have to go back onto the cakes then off again in short order. Mental torture all for the killing off of a few more villi in your gut
poor thing! Lots of hugs!!
Also I didn't sleep very well the last 2 nights, and have had about 4.5 hours sleep total, with last night only contributing an hour of that. Off to bed xx

This is why I don't want an official diagnosis of my gluten intolerance - I am too scared to start eating it again.
I gave up gluten for 2 weeks in May to see if that was the cause of my severe stomach pain and it was just heaven for 2 weeks.
I have never gone back to eating gluten - I don't feel I am missing out although crikey knows what would happen if I was dairy intolerant as well. What would I eat?
It's already a slight struggle as I am vegetarian (unless we have some of our own reared meat).
DH thinks I should be tested but I don't think there is anything to be gained from it.
Newme2014 - can you explain a bit more about why you have a consultant and why he wants you to be tested again?
Sorry to butt in.....0 -
Ah boo after I posted that it let me see all the other lovely messages!!!
Love you all bunches. We are a right set of weirdos with all our intolerances! Lots of hugs xx

EE, I'll try and keep this short so not to totally takeover Lilts thread but several years ago I realised something wasn't right with my stomach and it seemed connected to wheat, I cut down a bit, symptoms eased up, had an idea about intolerances etc but wasn't too clued up so went to Dr. Dr was NO help, basically just told me if it didn't agree with me then cut it out. In the space of about a week of totally cutting out wheat and gluten I lost nearly a stone. At 5'10" and only 9st 5 at the time anyway that wasn't very healthy! It was down to not knowing what to eat and the water retention wheat can cause. Anyway, thankfully friend at work told me he was coeliac and helped me back on my feet. Didn't bother going back to the dr. Did find out I can eat other grains with no issue through just trying stuff. Fast forward to early this year and I went to the London Allergy and Free From show, decided to get intolerance tested as had been getting symptoms again. Showed I still had issue with wheat and also dairy. After a few tears I decided to go to Dr to ask to be properly tested to find out if it's whole dairy, just cows milk or lactose. Again Dr not that helpful (told me there's gluten in rice but not in rye) but sent me for lots of random tests. Tests all came back inconclusive so another visit to Dr. This one actually took me seriously and said that I have to be referred for the proper tests by a gastroenterologist so sent me to consultant. He was good but seemed to fixate a bit on the wheat issue even though I was only there for the dairy issue! Kept going on about getting a prescription for the bread and stuff but I'm really not that bothered as I don't really eat the bread that often anyway.

Lilt as long as I still have chocolate I'll survive! God knows what I'll do if I take after my mum, after having me she would be sick at just the smell of it! It took many years but the reaction is getting less severe, she still won't go near it, even though my dad lovingly offers to suck the chocolate of the malteasers for her lolMortgage started 02/2015 opening balance -£183,349

Nooo! When my laptop when pfft last year I was gutted. I would have been even more gutted if I was using YNAB.
Thinking.....
Temporary low cost fixes:
If it's the screen connections (and the actual harddrive etc is working) could you get your hands on an external screen and use like a desktop? Older screens are a bit like nuclear waste, you can't give them away so that's an option.. Most workplaces have a land of decrepit hardware they would lend/ give away..
You can get USB to HDMI adaptors, they are about £20
See if you can get fixed for cheep?
Google model and issue and see if it's a fix you can do yourself ..
I agree re using the site on a phone, it's painful. But we need jellytot Christmas updates
