  • AHoy - I am back.

Hanging my head in shame just slightly as I have leaked money from all ends. I haven't yet caught up with YNAB to explain but I shall be getting a real ticking off... However my money is in for the month of November, and my accounts all look healthy. I have to chase NPower for a refund on my final bill. Any idea how long anyone?

In a bit of limbo as it really is worrying how much money disappeared this month! I am joining the November Turtle challenge and am battening down the hatches for a very tight month. I think tomorrow will be last chance to get in remaining Christmas presents so amazon is my friend currently. There are only a friend and her two children, plus FIL (who doesn't come from my budget) to cater to. However friend is as difficult as I am to pin down on gifts she would like for herself, and everytime I throw up an idea for her kids, she already has it... having bought it on sale sometime whilst pregnant... so it will be a bit of a frustrating time trying to find something that they will truly enjoy!

Him and Jelly all good. We had a lovely time up home, and spent £37 on a meal out for just me and Him one night (25% off F&B's on Mondays ;)) and had a trip into town as a threesome to give my mum some rest whilst we did some shopping. Mum was a lot better than expected and perked up well whilst we were there. The powers of grandchildren. Her date has come through for the next op. Nov 5th. She is sad because she got through the last op knowing that she was seeing us afterwards and now she feels she has nothing to look forward to. Will try and make life full of simple pleasures for her. Drawings will be dispatched, cards, photographs and videos. I've a lot of 1st class stamps :)

I saw my grandparents. It was sad. It made my heart ache to see them both, so old, vulnerable, tired and depressed. I said my goodbyes mentally. It broke my heart a bit as Jelly kept charging upstairs to see 'MePops' as she calls my Pop and he couldn't hear her when she was saying 'Henno MiPops!!' in her bright little voice.

Anyways. Tonight I am watching UFC I should have watched last night but was trapped on the sofa whilst benches and weights were built around me. More on that later. Then I am setting up woth my receipt mountain and a lot of explaning. :D

    Hugs

    Missed you all xxx

So glad your mum is doing well. So sorry to hear about your grandparents though, it's heartbreaking and nothing anyone can do, I was there myself earlier this year.
Hope some spending was nice things for you - you deserve it!

  • Hi Lilt, sending lots of hugs your way.x.

Agree with apple muncher about the clothes for children, I was just thinking today if any rellies ask me what to get kids for xmas i'm going to say dressing gowns or PJs.

    take care.x.
  • It wasn't as bad as I thought!!! I explained all, switched some stuff around and it isn't too bad. I think I may be able to cover it this month, but nappies and Clarks shoes are on my list so maybe not...

PWPS & Apple, yes I think I am going to resort to clothes. Again she is a very organised lady and buys in sales, way in advance, (like me) but I am sure I can come up with some stuff!! I store up my thoughts for presents all year and she buys them when she sees them; that's the difference between us. Both result in us having to spend less money ;) but mine usually means I get it free! :rotfl:

All these hugs gives me a warm cosy feeling :) I am so ready for the weekend. Work has been rubbish this week. One of those weeks where my to do list starts and ends looking the exact same, but I have worked my bum off?

Anyways back to working... I will be back at some point later on :D maybe with pictures of my delightful one and her Gee Gee. 84 years between them <3

    Hugs! xx

So pleased you had such a lovely time with your family - enjoy them whilst you can - we are all mere mortals at the end of the day. I think I was very near to you last night Lilty as I went to see Beverley Craven at a venue quite close to your home!!! Was walking the streets after parking the car thinking of you - such a warm feeling too :o Have good weekend - I have had a stressful week to but glad to say that by the end everything fell into place and my first hol project in my new job ended successfully - well I think so :j. Hope Jelly has settled back in at home and looking forward to seeing some piccies soon of your little angel!!

    Bye for now Billie xxx

  • Nahahaha REST?!?! :rotfl:

Saturday I filled a 660 litre industrial bin with junk. I emptied out my wardrobe, and threw away anything old, worn, hated or that didn't fit. I threw out a load of old bedding I haven't used in years. I emptied a storage box, and popped all my summer wear into there including sandals etc. I threw out basically everything in a huge cupboard above the washing machine in my kitchen. I then refilled it with the storage box and then to the brim with all Jellys wrapped xmas presents from me, Him and all of my family. So once she has those I shall have a pretty much empty cupboard to use. I've a huge box of junk to go to charity or sell as I can. I feel a lot better for it all although my back was not my friend!!

BILLIE were you at the Leas Cliff Hall?? :D:D I am a 2 minute walk from there! It is a nice venue. Thank you for thinking of me!! :D and well done on your first project going well! You must be relieved.

Supersaver I rested yesterday and spent this morning divvying up my savings towards Christmas, Birthdays and one off annual spends as per the November batten down the hatches challenge :)

I've got a shopping delivering coming this evening, after my in laws have been and gone. I can't wait for Jellytot to be in bed and them to have gone this evening. I feel pooped. Possibly from a bug? Maybe just from the frenetic activity of the last couple of weeks. I barely seem to have sat down! Jellytot has been sleeping ridiculous amounts, 6pm to between 8-10am without a peep in between. And naps in the afternoon of 1-2 hours? What is that all about?

Wish no one was coming so we could both have a lie down this afternoon. She keeps telling me she is tired.

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon :) xx
