I'd be fuming too. Gaming is too all engaging to be done at the same time as childcare. All that focus and concentration is all consuming and won't allow enough to keep one ear/ eye out for what a child is doing. What if she had found a sharp knife, or matches or a plastic carrier bag? Gaming and childcare not compatible!
I hope the phone recovers. Could a shop that sells your type of phone help?

Quick catch up after a busy couple of days!
Sorry about your phone Lilt :(- hope it gets better, after all the recent conversations about mums and their little girls (even if they are big and left home long years ago) its your connection to your mum when you are so many miles apart :)

Glad Jelly is better and I love the Christmas Cards - very clever that snowman one!:T
Him should not have left her unattended by herself like that...so think of the positive - that it was the phone that got hurt not precious Jelly. My DS used to use that sort of opportunity to climb anything he could find to reach what he wasn't meant to be able to reach - you couldn't take your eyes off him for a second -cheeky little monkey that he was!

fingers crossed it will dry out

  • Oh boy. I go off to sulk and look at this!!

Thank you all. I have recovered from my grumps, and ..... My Phone LIVES!!!!!!!!!! :j:j:j - the brightness on full whack, auto-lock never, bag of rice on charge glowing like a weird ricey nightlight all night worked a treat and even the speakers are working again!!

Thank you random internet chappy who put together all of the best bits and came up with a super solution!!

Him did not even get told off. I didn't even mention it. If I never get to the grand canyon, I will still know what it is like shouting into it, hearing a thousand echoes and listening to it get quieter and quieter... because that is what it is like when I create a bit of fuss... Echoes and silence and a deep hole if I feel like falling in. Jelly did not get told off either. She's 2 after all, and though she should have known better she is exploring the world and her boundaries. I thought the same as many of you. It could have been precious fingers and toes, instead it was a completely (expensively) replaceable tool.

So I am feeling harmonious again. Except for the fact that I have forgotten to take pictures of my super awesome yoghurt lid scenes!! Should I open the envelopes for you? Hmmm lol.

The case is packed, hilarious having Him bring a bag of stuff to take with him. Like a rolling pack-a-thon , starting at his mums with him packing his clothes and shaver etc, then bringing it here, and unpacking it to go into the suitcase, with mine and Jellys stuff, to be taken to mums and unpacked, then packed up again to return!

Had to buy a new suitcase yesterday, and bought jelly a little back packer that she can have her lunch and toys for the journey in. Asked my friend and she didn't have one to lend but recommended a lovely shop nearby. Sweet little fella :) we were very happy!

Tonight shall be spent having a shower and doing my mop. Has ben kept bobbled as a surprise for mum. Tomorrow morning I am off with a £1 to the nursery for a deposit for the photos of Jelly. I can then take them up so mum can see :D

EVENTUALLY I will be able to sit and see diaries for the last time before I am off :)

    See you later all xx

  • Have a wonderful time!

I agree Jelly shouldn't be told off, just a gentle explanation that juice and phones do not mix, and a lesson learned not to leave your phone with her again! Yay to it working now though :j. I understand why you did not discuss it with HIM, but I could not be that restrained! It would build and build until I exploded!!!! Xx

  • Well we are here! Phone survived, Jellys anti sickness tablets worked miracles and we got here intact in the same clothes! Unheard of.

Him did indeed do the wrapping up Billie! :D and yes this is the first time since feb 2013 he has been to my parents... But nerve wracking, a lot of water under the bridge since then! Still all good.

Mum seems good. Bit fragile but good! Lovely to see her and dad and get a hug and fab to see them with a squealy happy huggy jelly.

Seeing nanny and Pop tomorrow. Also my bestie who is due Christmas Eve and I've not seen her since before she was pregnant! Have her baby shower on Sunday too! Sister coming over sat morning so will see her and nephew and my brother and his wife and kids are coming tonight! Busy weekend ahead.

Can't get around diaries at the minute, phone not good! Hope u all are ok!
