  • Thank you guys. I really do appreciate you all popping in. My mum is a fighter so she won't go down easily. She has beaten cancer 4 times so far, and this will be the 5th time. :)

Amazing the things we all carry around with us. Time for bed methinks. Night night xx

Have done a silly thing again and just lost my post while trying to submit -
Sorry Lilt, it was a long one.
I totally know what you are going through and am so sorry your mum is having to go through this again. My mum had BC 12 years ago grade 3 and had surgery /chemo. She survived and totally turned her life around and now cares full time for my dad.
and I totally believe about the feathers, whatever people may think. Something happened to me about 9 years ago, and despite the fact that I am a scientist and totally sceptical about things, There is something that is undefinable that is more than just life.
will post tomorrow as DS is waiting up for me.
    Take care
    Hugs
    xx

Lilt - so sorry that the news for your mum is not as good as you all hoped and she will be facing more treatment. Thinking of you all. The news the lymph nodes are clear so no spreading is amazing though, so pleased about this at least - as you say, your mum is a fighter, and she will beat this again.
Take care of yourself and lovely Jellytot xx

Yellow boys and girls (just girls actually am I right?)

Thanks for dropping in NOA & MagicCat - I appreciate all the kind words. Seems like all too many people have been through this before, know the lingo and know the situation! That is very sad really :(

Feeling ok today. Have done a colleague a nice favour & ordered her a 1938 DVD from fleabay that she was hankering after. She will give me the money back for the DVD, & I don't want to count my chickens etc but I think today was the last day I would get £5 cashback if I bought from ebay using paypal... :)

Mum seems chipper and was laughing at Jelly's usual antics. Mainly that 'Minnie Mouse' who is featuring quite heavily at the moment even though we don't have the disney channel  is called 'Mean Mouse' in our house :rotfl:

Got a huge bowl of my homemade soup to eat for lunch but sat at my desk with it. My in tray is piled so high it is threatening to break. My post tray is also piled high but I won't get to that today. 2 colleague who usually do all the new business are both off this week. So yours truly has been landed with a weeks worth of work for said 2 people to complete in 3 days around my own work. I can see why one is such a moody bag and I genuinely have no idea why the other lovely colleague keeps appearing at work and seems so calm about it all. I am frantic!

Never mind, at least one colleague will be back Friday to take some of the weight. Just keep swimming :)

NSD #6 today. No need to buy a thing which feels rather good!! Should be fine til Friday earliest :)

Best get back to work. More work arriving shortly.

(Just signed this off with my email sig! 'Kind regards, Lilt' :rotfl:xx

  • Hello Lilt honeybunch... I am so sorry to read about your Mummy. It's so sad for you to deal with when you are so far away but I am sending you massive hugs!
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".
  • Hello peepities.

Thanks again for all the love. Lots of positivity which always helps :)

So far post ebay buying, I have received a £5 off my next purchase on ebay voucher. I am still expecting that £5 will head into paypal, and colleague gave me a 5p tip for buying the DVD so am really in pocket on this friendly purchase ;)

2 more NSD's here. Taking me to 7 out of 9 - not bad eh. Budget says £106.98 on food. good job there is so much food the kitchen is in danger of collapsing into the neighbours flat below! I shall not cross that £130 barrier this month! Freezer is rammed. Todays dinner came from there, pasta sauce made at the weekend, with pasta, chorizo and a touch of cheese on top. House fed for pence. Jelly loves chorizo :rotfl:

Went to bed at 20 past 6 last night, and slept right through apart from a few wake ups due to the wind rattling windowpanes. Still not given in to the heating though :)

Got emails from FU (nice initials First Utility) and have now passed the point of no return which means they have accepted my transfer to them and I should get the tracked £50+ cashback :D before Xmas!

Off to sleep - night all xxx

  • *congas* SFD/NSD #8 racked up!! Did not give in to a taxi when I was late and it was pouring with rain this morning. Did not give in to massive takeaway wish after horrific day at work tonight. This NSD has a gold star on it! :D

    Tomorrow I am shopping for:
Tomato puree Lidl or ASDA if Lidl have none
    Cheese - Lidl
    Chorizo - Lidl
    Rice - ASDA
Milk - ASDA (5p more than Lidl but lasts longer!)
    Bread - ASDA
    Soya milk - Sainsburys
    Eggs - ASDA
Hazelnut chocolate whilst it is 17p ;) - Lidl
Bananas greener the better (did you know that if you split your bananas up and remove them from any bags etc once you get them home, they last twice as long before going overripe? :D useful fact of the day! ) - Lidl
    Fishfingers -Iceland
    Frozen mixed peppers - Iceland

Quite an eclectic mix and 4 shops to get round with Jellytot. Poor bairn.

Off to use this new superfandangly Christmas calculator at the money advice service :D

    Night all xx

Oh Lilt you put us all to shame. Well done also to getting through a horrible day in the office.

Do tell us more about the Christmas calculator!! You are getting me fired up to start thinking about it all.

BTW I was told this week, if you have bananas that are overripe, throw into the freezer, if you have room Lilty, and then use to make banana cake. Just take out when you need them, apparently they defrost quite quickly, and then they mash up well for the cake!!!

The rain has woken me hence why I am posting at silly o'clock..... Xx
