oh no, (and sorry Lilt - I shall stop) hope you are OK and managed to get some sleep. It's a whole new world for Jelly being able to open her door.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
  • Hopefully it was a one off and you both got back to sleep ok. I remember when Mr Lucky was in hospital I suddenly got scared of the dark. Seems silly now but at the time it was awful.

Love the after nursery photo Xx

  • Blah, it was not a one off. We spent many an hour going back and forth until I shut my own bedroom door. I heard her come to it, but she tried the handle briefly then went away. I have no idea where. Does that make me a bad mummy? I spent the rest of the night popping awake every few minutes wondering, but I am pretty sure she just went and got back in bed. Have a feeling tonight will be an 8pm bedtime, especially after my osteo appt. Lucky for me, Him is over to babysit whilst I am over there, as I may be crippled by the time I get back!

Dropped Jelly off. She was greeted by her nursery nurse and some wodges of homemade playdough with various shaped cutters. She never even looked up. Have requested that she might be able to do a picture for my mum today as dreaded Op is tomorrow. They were excellent about it actually :D feel so much better leaving her there!

LL it wasn't you! Your comments made me roll laughing and I told my mum about it in a late night texting session, henceforth at 3am it all came back

Lucky bless you. I think we all are to some degree. Just sometimes we are braver than other times. Your bravery was in other places, so I can see why it would happen. Huge hugs!

Mojo missing, reward for finding it. I could go and slice potatoes for dauphinoise to have with some variety of mince for dinner... but I am staying put! I really should probably go... :(

BILLIE jellytot literally stand in front of me, takes a piece of tissue after I have and *wipes* between her legs :o I have no privacy... She still thinks tampons are sweeties and gleefully rips them apart out of my handbag in front of strangers though! Dunno which I would prefer!!

Apple and fmess you have my every sympathy. In some ways it's worse when Him is here. He can be very idle and will happily watch as I dangle a screaming soaking wet child from one arm, try to grab a bottle and fill it with the other and then manhandle the both items via the microwave to the changing table to put pyjamas on!

Men are just larger than average children!

Right, sleep... Seriously. Jellytot has school in the morning! I need to not look like I rolled out of bed at 5 to 9. To do so I need to get up before 7! :rotfl:

    Night peeps! Xx

My sister found a box, unwrapped and fluffed them out and used the string to wear one (nothing else, mind) as a 'bunny tail'. As she happily explained to mum's visiting friends

    She was 16 :D:p

Hahha no she was 3 or so. She was a big fan of the nakeds.

  • Lol. When we moved to our creepy country house DD used to get in my bed all the time. One night I was so tired I kind of said please leave me to just get to sleep! (As she used to snuggle up and I just wanted to spread out). Felt a bit guilty, but she was about 11 - I kid you not! So you're doing well!

A couple of years ago she started getting scared again after watching a horror movie (bad mother I didn't realise). But she started coming into my room again - I'd just drop off to sleep then open my eyes with a jolt to find her face in mine. It's no wonder my sleep is wrecked.

She also did a really mean trick of setting my phone alarm to go off in the middle of the night, I'd just cracked my insomnia and that set it off again. I've got my own back since - teenagers hate being woken up early, and a really great one is a little water gently flicked on them from your wet shower hair.

We are great friends now though. :rotfl:

  • *snorts with laughter* Well all three posts made me giggle!!

Two nights on the trot with the 3am visits, continued onwards. Hard work indeed. Tonight I have not locked her out... No.. tonight I have locked her IN! A combination of the tie from my dressing gown, knotted around the door knob, and a huge bottle of persil tied to the other end and flung over the nearest piece of furniture, Death trap when I forget in the middle of the night, but she won't be coming out tonight! Butter wouldn't melt on that little face, but she can be a pain.

This morning pre 7am, having once again closed the bedroom door somewhere around 5:30am, there was a resounding knock followed by a 'Hennoooooooooo, I nuv (love) you, I nuv you, I nuv you!' which was very cute... followed by a lot of banging.. on her drum.. with her drumstick... that she had brought all the way to my bedroom door to get me up. Not so cute, but I had to laugh! Dutifully got up too.

Bad night other than Jellytot was had with my annual upper arm muscle cramps. 10 years without an explanation as to the reason each arm goes through several weeks of agonising overnight pain, steadily getting worse, then switching to the other arm, then back again, all through winter. Osteopath is hoping to help with all the work he put in on my body, trying to reduce inflammation and nervous system being on high alert. Feel a lot better and a lot STRAIGHTER! Walking much better but this put pressure on my pelvis today. Few more sessions and I hope to feel much better. Hope the work he has done may extend to the arm as last night was excruciating. in the past I have had to lie on my arm until it goes numb just to get some sleep. There are worse things in life however...

My lovely mum went for her op today. &am at the hospital, texting me to tell me the anaesthetist and a consultant are super hotties. 1pm she went down for the op and nothing heard since. It was going to be a long one so was prepared for a wait but not this long. Not feeling like I can sleep. :(

    Hugs all xx

Cross posted Lucky - Nothing yet. Will update when I get some news. Just spoke to my daddy smurf and my sister is ringing around trying to figure out where mum is and get an update as we don't know her ward!

The last op took 8 hours, and this one has two leaking implants to deal with, plus all of the scar tissue from the original op and reconstruction 15 years back.

    Thanks for the thoughts xx

EDIT: She is awake and on a ward (Gillies for my own ref) after a 9 hour op. No word on how it went or anything. She is very groggy and just barely rang dad, told him she was ok but very tired. Enough for him to crack out the whiskey and breathe out for the first time all day. He sounds much better. Have given him a belly laugh with my ingenious locking away of the child. He says I am my fathers daughter. I think he means I am a bodge-it and scarper sort ;) - might I mention that when I was 15 I used 3 needles and some sellotape to fix the foot pedal on the bathroom bin. They still use the same bin now, 13 years on. And the foot pedal still works ;)

Valium taken. I shall sleep. Tomorrow is a fresh new day and for that I am grateful. My arm better take notice of the muscle relaxant working its way into my system. Night xx
