  • Glad your mum is home and resting. That was a gruelling op for herbody to undergo.

Hope your osteopath can give you some permanent relief. Lugging a 2 yo around can't help much!

Dd usually opts out of coming into our bed unless she gets my side. Otherwise, she reckons, SHE gets squished and has no room! Despite us grown ups being perched precariously on either edge!

    What are sharpies?

Your savings are amazing - will that change when Him is in the place too?

    Sleep well tonight x

  • Hi Shyspender!! Welcome and thanks for posting, especially the tip on the child gates!! Persil working very well. 2 nights of not being able to escape resulted in her not trying to last night. I heard nothing, not a peep from 6:30 last night until 7:50 this morning! She has given up, not even trying and shouting 'I SCUCK!!!' Defo need a baby gate for the kitchen though!

Billie I am glad i can make you giggle. Mum has joked about childline before. Jellytot is allergic to dairy and gelatin! She can't have jelly or ice cream at parties.. defo childline worthy! :rotfl: On another vaguely related subject, when my nephew was very small, his mum taught him his name, address and phone number for emergencies. She asked him to trot it out for me (He was only 4) and he proudly told me his full name, address etc followed by 0800 DOUBLE OH 10 66. :rotfl: When my sister asked him what he was on about he said that was his phone number because he liked it. He got it from the Hastings Direct ads ;)

SuperDave you're keeping me cheery as always!

Lucky - yes unfortunately as at 1st October I will be about £350 worse off a month. Counting my blessings though. My family will eventually be all together under one roof every night. And with certain bills reducing, I should at least be able to keep up the regular saver. I doubt that my extra emergency fund will get anything added to it though. Hence the push to do well this last couple of months whilst I still can! And to figure out how much groceries etc I really need and what that actually costs. Jellytot qualifies for nursery regardless of Him being here or not, such is the pittance he is paid. So that is a relief. If she didn't he doesn't do enough hours for us to be paid any tax credits to cover some of the bill. That would have been an extra £300 a month I would have to find, just for her personal wellbeing and expansion! She has been asking about nursery this week, which is a first. Obviously it has made an impression! Definitely doing the right thing with this new place!

Got the beginnings of a cold thanks to Him. He came down with it last night but despite disinfecting everything, door handles, desk, even the leather on the sofa, and the TV buttons and screen... AND taking various multivitamins, and giving Jellytot hers... I have a sore throat big time. I think I am going to sleep.

One last thing. I am so very grateful for everyone who takes the time to pop in here, comment and help and support me in my erratic and hectic life.

Today I am exceptionally grateful for parcels of goodies through the post from the LOVELY Apple. People who give even when they struggle themselves make my heart cry and sing at the same time. So many of you deserve much more than you get and you will have the goodness that you are returned. Thank you so much Apple, again and again and again! :j:j:j

    Hi guys.

Cold has not stuck, although Jelly is a bit out of sorts - more vitamins! I've got a sore throat still but we seem to be escaping.

Got a bit more done today. Kitchen scrubbed and under sink cupboard emptied of all but 5 essential bottles of goodness (which usually reside on the windowsill but this too is empty and tiles gleaming). The rest has moved home under the bathroom sink for now, with a hairbrush locking Jelly out! Everything gleams, & water just beads up and rolls off it thanks to my super cleaner, so I am thinking this will minimise the damage from blokes ripping out my old boiler, installing a new one, and drilling through the walls, not to mention ripping out the boxing :( Then I did some batch cooking and ruined all my scrubbing. So scrubbed again. Bathroom cleaned, everywhere vacuumed twice over as I followed madam around the house.

I am not sleeping very well although tried to go earlier the last few nights. I am struggling with headaches that just won't go. Have tried more vitamins, more water, more veggies... Nothing helping. I feel a bit flat but nothing I can put my finger on.

Jelly is sleeping much better. 2 nights of not being able to escape and she has stopped trying, so goes to bed at half 6 and gets up around 7am to play with her toys until I go in to her. Good as gold. Sure if I took away the lock she would soon be back at it again.

Today she has disappeared my freshly washed oven mitt. Usually it hangs over the oven door handle, but today it went in the wash with my bedding & electric blanket. Quite silly considering all of the above is cream and the oven mitt has A: never been washed and is B: Very new and BRIGHT RED  - escaped with pink strings on my leccy blanket. Anyways I remember distinctly removing it from the wash. I plonked the washing on my bed ready to be hung out... and it has gone. Never to be seen again. Possibly thrown out of the window. Definitely nowhere I can find...

Mum - was going to come down on Saturday overnight (hotel visit) to see me before radiotherapy starts (this is the minimum requirement of her treatment, she most likely needs chemo too) but she is feeling too weak and too ill. I have seen the wounds. She has been butchered. I am used to my mums body being battle scarred... two giant lines across her front, a huge puckered scar under her arm. She has had those for years. Now... it doesn't bear describing. It will look fine under clothes. In reality, it is a mess. So I will go up there in October (late Oct) when I have a week off. £112 trains  worth it for a hug though.

Jelly has nursery in the morning. Asked in laws [last week] to come early enough to come with me to collect her and see her nursery. They asked tonight what time they need to be here (I will not go into the running battles on Jelly visitation since she was born) and I said 11:30 latest as need to leave to collect her at 20 to. They said they will 'defo try' as they are very excited. Sometimes it is like :wall:

    Night guys xxx

  • Hey lilt,

Sorry I've not been about. Sooooo pleased that your mum's op went well; sending you both hugs!

You made me smile re: Jelly's escapology - and what an ingenious solution :)

Really sorry to hear about all your pain - you do amazingly well to work so hard with all that going on. I am in awe of you, as always.

Hope to catch up properly soon!

Hope all is well with you Lilt and that you have managed to escape a cold. Jellytot is likely to pick loads up as she has started at nursery mixing with new friends etc. The minute mine used to go back after the holidays they would go down with something, but refused to stay off school.

Hope 'in-laws' don't play you up!!

Chin up you are doing brill.
