I went out. To get oven cleaner (I tried the bicarb and white vinegar AM, as I use it, or soda crystals and bleach on EVERYTHING but it didn't work :( as it is in a new oven, and my LL paid I don't want to ruin it!) and soya milk. Having been given two marrows decided to go to Mr L to get some of their double packs of beef mince £3.45 for 2 x 500g packs, and it is lovely lovely mince. £29 later........ then £3.97 in the 99p store on 14 bags of crisps and 2 types of oven cleaner. Then £4.20 in Mr S on soya milk... Bah.

But the freezer is jam rammed. So is the fridge. Jellytot walked everywhere so the pram was used with reusable bags for the shopping. She is now fast asleep in bed as she was exhausted, both from shopping/walking around 2.5 miles (!) and from getting me up at the crack of dawn. She appears very pale, with pink around her eyes & has a dodgy tum. Hope she is ok.

I think that the rest of the month should genuinely consist of shops for break, milk and bananas. I just have to stock up on some bits for Jellytots 2 nursery lunches a week now but she loves her fruit, sandwiches and half a pack of crisps, with the odd mini gingerbread man thrown in so that should be fine!

Oven cleaner sprayed on, choking me with fumes. It swears blind no scrubbing, which is precisely what my back and the oven itself doesn't need so it better not need it! If it does I will rinse and repeat. I've got some 'Astonish!' oven cleaner too which is less harsh and frankly their products always do what they say on the tin, so if all else fails... Next time the sausages are going in a roasting bag!

AM - DD sounds like ME! She must have rocked the look indeed as only the super cool can carry these things off. My college days were spent wearing a gingham dress which was so short it showed my bum, with an unbuttoned large denim shirt over the top covering my modesty at the back, fishnets with thigh high stripy socks over the top, and various colours of hair. I also had a multitude of tiny little scary miss mary t shirts - but I wasn't goth or anything. I just felt a lot less self conscious like that! It got me over a lot of shyness, and gave me a don't give a !!!!!! attitude without the aggression. :D

I am off to enjoy the peace, confess all to YNAB and make a meal plan, then make GP's meatballs!!

I'm sorry for jinxing your argos order lilt :(

Apple is correct, vinegar is brilliant for cleaning and apparently cheap cola is really good for cleaning the loo. Tried it out on my awful uni house toilet and it did improve it! But with normally cared for toilets, I have no idea. (I tend to use detol though)

For a bad back, you could go for chiropractic which I've also done in the past. Helped me when I was about 13 with bad back pain. The implant could be adversely affecting you, go see the nurse! I was feeling pretty bad, very grumpy and constantly bleeding, went to the nurse, she gave me a new prescription and boom! Much better. I still have the implant as well :)

The not meatballs look delicious! Nom.
  • Hello Peatypie!

I use the vinegar and soda crystals on a tonne of stuff, but I am a horror when it comes to the oven. The position it is in, the fact that my kitchen is so thin that when the door is down you can't even walk past it, my back protesting, the window being teeny weeny.. All of these things make it my most hated job. I promise faithfully that once it has been made better (aka not caked in chicken and sausage grease burnt on for a couple of weeks) I will upkeep it with those :D

I haven't ever seen a chiropractor. I have one nearby, but am familiar with osteopaths, as my family has a huge history with back trouble. I like the intimate knowledge they have of what bones to click in my neck to make my hips align, and my hips and feet to stop the pressure on my spine etc. they fascinate me as much as the noise freaks me out! I am looking forward to the osteo next week, even more so to the second appt, and even more to getting the injections as I am told this could effectively fix me for 4 years before I would need more!

Since my implant, I haven't bled. At all. I have endometriosis... this is a revelation! I have had literally everything going to stop the endo, including a prostate cancer drug called Goserelin which was horrifying and killed my first mini-me due to stopping absorption of calcium, and breaking down bones :( mine, and it's. Nothing ever managed to control the random outbursts my body seems to have. I am affected badly by stress, and I think a good portion of it is just bad timing. I am in the first 3 months of the implant, when I would expect my hormone levels to be all over the place getting used to it. had a few blackouts and other issues for the first few weeks. But the stress on top is what has overloaded and caused the migraines. I just need to get myself on track and get a bit more peaceful! I am doing my best, sat here, listening to a playlist surrounded by fresh smelling washing, and with the windows wide open. jelly is still peacefully asleep... and my post shopping painkillers have kicked in now. I am feeling good.

YNAB says I have not been as naughty as I thought if I am good with my groceries the rest of the month. Cupboards say we shall be fine. ;)

  • Appleeeeeeeeeeeee are you here? Look at me.... I am going to bed! Now... :rotfl: not just in bed with my laptop!! (I am currently) but actually lying down and thinking of unicorns and fairies and going to sleep!

I hope everyone has a lovely night! My oven is going to sleep with the cleaner in it... dinner was a hob job, and I just haven't got the back for it tonight. Spraying it on was bad enough. Will do better tomorrow after a good... nights.... *yawn* ... sleep. xxxxxxxxxxx

Lilt I came across your diary this morning and have spent most of today reading all the way through. WOW you are one amazing person and hope that you have a good nights sleep and that little jelly tot sleeps well too.

You have made me smile, laugh out loud, HE has made me angry and some of your posts have made me sad. My thoughts go out to your mum (I lost my mum 20 plus years ago to that dreadful disease, but as time moves on more cures are found) , your Pops sadly I never knew mine only my amazing Granny and also your brother.

Having been a single mum of 3 at one time I sympathised with your situation and was thinking along the lines as Eager Elephant (sorry if I have that pseudonym wrong) but you must be so very careful. I wished I has never applied for Tax Credits as in the end they caused me great distress.

But you are a wonderful mum and woman and I know you will tread carefully. Thank you for sharing photos of your little darling.

  • Lilty, just popping by to see if my mojo got left here last time I visited - nope. Going to pop out to Asbo in a min to see if its there. Need to pick up some strong bread flour to make some more bread. Not sure where the oats come into it - I'm going to sit down and read through properly this evening. My little miss (who is taller than me) just told me that her bread is better than mine - it is, so she'd better get baking then, especially as she's doing cookery this year at school!

Hope your little miss is okay - they drive you mad sometimes, but one day when she pats you on the head and says 'aww, my little mum' your heart will swell up with all the love that you've given each other over the years and you'll remember the good times very fondly and the bad times with a 'wow we made it through'.

Take care Lilty Supermum - I'll see if your mojo is in Asbo as well - maybe there'll be a 2 for 1 offer.

  • Hello guys! I got to sleep very quickly and slept soundly until 6am. Jellytot did not wake until 7:30 and then didn't open her bedroom door to come and see me until 8 ;) so I just chilled out in bed with my phone. I do love the peace and quiet on the days/nights Him is not here. All too soon it shall be gone.

Thanks PWPS & Apple for the sleepy wishes :D as for the oven, it got a clean this morning and that oven cleaner is the bomb for something that cost 99p!! I basically wiped it clean! :D Fabulous stuff, and not even ridiculously messy, nor did it intoxicate me with fumes! Still, back to bicarb and vinegar now that I can see the sides again :D

Jellytot is driving me bonkers. There is a not so good side to being a single mum 4 days and 5 nights of the week. Being the only one available for EVERY requirement. Just the food alone takes me an age. let alone the showers/baths, playing, dressing, more playing, cleaning up after, disciplining, trying to entertain and failing miserably... I am stressed. I had to rest a large metal oil filled radiator against the kitchen door to stop her coming in whilst I was cleaning the oven. The resultant temper tantrum was horrible and messy. She has covered a new top in (mercifully washable) paint and thrown a lot out of the window. She even broke the knob off my bed. Luckily I fixed it but... seriously!? She is testing me. I vaguely remember the days when I could go to the loo on my own, and shower without a guest playing peekaboo. It's been a while.

Billie, thank you for popping in! And for reading all this drivel!! :D I don't feel amazing. Just about coping most of the time!

Regarding tax credits, I am sorry you seem to have had such a rough time with them and that EE's stories resonate with you! I am thankful for the money they allow me to put away rather than dissolve into a pit of debt. I have to be honest, I never envisioned myself ever getting them, let alone being reliant on them in a way. But I try and make the most of what I have by spending as little as I have to (when I am being good) and putting some away for the future, or any payments back they may require. I have always let them know promptly of pay rises, decreases, nursery starting and ending etc. I haven't had any issues thus far touch wood!

I am so sorry to hear about your mum. No matter how long, the scars run deep and losing your mum is an experience I don't think I would ever get over. I cross my fingers for her, the op is Wednesday! I was lucky enough to know all 4 of my grandparents very well as my dads parents died in 1999 when I was about 13, so I have great memories, and on my mums side, a variety of great aunts and uncles on top of my grandparents are still alive!

Him and I are looking at a 'move back' beginning at the start of October. It will cost me some money, hence really my extreme forms of moneysaving the last couple of months, as I won't be able to save as much again, despite him earning very little. I will let all of the relevant agencies know, and I think we have agreed that it will take time for me to get used to sharing my space full time again. It has been almost a year since we broke up and it was December 2nd when he moved out. Since then, the maximum he has been here has been 4 nights when the next door neighbour made threats. Other than that, it is 2 nights per week, here on a Weds morning, gone of a Friday evening after dinner.

SO... the plan is... that he 'moves back in' according to relevant agencies, as of 1st october, but in reality he will still be going home a few nights each week and slowly taper that off, and just go when I need a break. :rotfl: - when he was here for 4 nights, by the time the 4th day came I was ready to strangle him, let alone the night. By Christmas, I hope we will be almost 'normal' and coping well with it all. Cross your fingers please. I wouldn't like Jellytot to be without her daddy although she is remarkably resilient!

    Bahahah bye SS!!

Enjoy ASBo's and if they have Mojo's can you get me a spare as well. I'll pay you back :D

I am still in my pyjamas despite having done the oven! And I STILL haven't meal planned. Jellytot just threw my phone in a temper as she couldn't do the Old Macdonald Justin puzzle. How it hasn't smashed before now is truly beyond me. 'Poor Donald' she says. Now she is pressing down on my hands whilst I type telling me it's great fun... *sigh* One early night is not enough!

Jellytot is back to being loved, wonkily applied headband and all... :rotfl:
