Lol - loving the idea of a fig roll high, although I wouldn't touch one with a bargepoll. I have had a mild buzz from a packet of custard creams today if that counts?
I misread your post before I think. Were you "accusing" me of being an Aston Villa fan, or saying that I am a 'by-proxy' supporter like your relative? As a true northerner, I would be offended to be wrongly associated with a more Southern team (Tbh, I'm no football fan, but DH would be shocked and saddened if I didn't protest)
We even had a 'black and white' wedding theme; it was brilliant if I do say so myself :smileyheahappy memories
Anyway, I'm getting side-tracked as usual. Hope you've had a lovely evening lilt xDebt remaining:

Mild custard cream buzzes are welcome in my house anyday! As are bourbon buzzes, and in todays case, 'melting moments' buzz
Recipe below. Takes 10 minutes to knock up and about the same time to eat the whole batch to yourself. From an ancient cookery leaflet my mum has that is older than me
one of those that came with the flour about 30 years ago!
I am so not accusing you of being anything as dirty as a closet Aston Villa fan    - just that the supporting of ones boyfriends teams is a popular choiceand sometimes, as in your case the ties hang on long after bf has been dumped :rotfl:
There was a time when I was RIDICULOUSLY offended to be called a 'northerner' and would protest very loudly in the first few years living darn sarf. I now actually say I am a northerner myself, when I am from THE SHIRE and very not a northerner. I am a midlander! (my fingers typed MindLadder hmm)
I like sidetracking. I am a very sidetracky person myself. I start on one thing, get halfway in, switch to something else and 4 stories later finish off the first one. Good job I am surrounded by friends who are likeminded! I think that is why I like my diary so much. I can order my thoughts. You all don't see the way I type... I write notes to myself as I go... *Return return return* "Lamb story" then back up and carry on.. then down again "BT are rubbish" and so on. By the time I have finished it all it's always huge, but it is all on order. One day I might try writing a post purely as it comes to my brain. Like right now, as I wrote purely (did it again), I caught a key with my mangly large fingernails and thought about cutting them (for the 50th time today, just do it woman) and then my brain whizzed to nailpolish for a second, I saw glitter, and !!!!!! I was back to typing "as it comes to my brain.."
What happened today? I baked 40 biscuits and ate... basically a lot. Lets not go into exact numbers *brain - "number-crunching, mmm crunchy, yeahh biscuits" and back* but there was a lot of biscuiting throughout the afternoon. Resulting in me not wanting dinner, which was serendipitous as the blimmin' chicken breasts had not defrosted. So they are in the fridge defrosterating for tomorrow when I will add a million green beans to my korma recipe because I can and because I have lots and they will soon go mouldy if I don't.
Reminds me, anyone know what I can do with an aubergine? And can it be frozen? Like, not whole. Just cubed and frozen, or sliced... par-boiled or fresh?
Anyways, I spent money today. Bad naughty lilt. It was on baby items I shall be using in Sept & Oct, whilst at a very good price and saving me £6 overall compared to usual. So only £18 for 86 pampers nappies, and 768 hugglies babywipes. Very good.I also spent on ingredients for the baking. Totalled £1.84. And milk and 2 packs of pasta n sauce which are my guilty pleasure and were on offer.
It came out of the savingsso now I am grumpy with me. Because I am naughty. I can recoup the £18 from next month. But booo to the rest. Determined to do better in Sept. I didn't meal plan last week, haven't so far this week, and am too tired to do it now. Painkillers and bed.
Night guys. Work is going to be wet tomorrow. Thank goodness for my preying mantis chair and a hot water bottle! xx

Love your writing lilt, and would be happy to read whether it be stream of consciousness or neatly ordered.
I think you can freeze Aubergine. I don't really like it, but you can layer it with cheese, tomato and white sauce and make Moussaka? I also think you could make sort of a 'dip' if you blend it with softened garlic and onion (maybe with other veg too that need using up). Or you could make a veg curry and add some potato?
Glad we've cleared up the 'Villa' issue, lol. DH will be pleased!
Please let me have the recipe for melting moments (just for research purposes obviously). Plus I think you can be forgiven your spends - you are doing so well, and I know you'll recoup it.
Really sorry that you have once again been struck with pain and tiredness..sending hugs and good wishes, and hope you sleep very well hon xDebt remaining:

Melting Moments
Ingredients
5oz margerine or butter (soft) [Stork et al - any are fine]
4oz caster sugar
5oz self-raising flour
1-2 teaspoons of vanilla essence/extract [to taste]
Method
Add the soft marg/butter in with the caster sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix together with a wooden spoon until they are creamed together and easy to mix.
Add in the vanilla essence and mix it through
Add the flour (I sieve it but it doesn't really matter) and mix this into the creamed butter/sugar gently.
Eventually the ingredients all start to come together into a moist dough.
Once all of the flour is mixed in and the mixture kind of follows the wooden spoon around the bowl, you can get out a teaspoon. One teaspoon of mix, roughly the size of a ping pong ball to be rolled in your palm quickly until a ball, placed onto a baking tray (greased says the recipe, but I never do and they are fine!) and pushed gently to flatten it out. Don't flatten too much, they naturally spread in the oven, and be wary of this when placing them on the tray. One large oven tray = 12 melting moments!
Place in the oven on Gas mark 4/5 (about 180 degrees in a fan oven) and cook for 10-15 minutes. Usually by 12 minutes the first batch is done. Second and thirds seem to be quicker, already hot oven I guess. They are cooked when they are gently browned.
Things that can be changed:
Roll the teaspooned ball through dessicated coconut and add half a glace cherry to the top.
Chocolate chips etc...
Things that can possibly go wrong and how to spot it!
Too much sugar will result in REALLY flat biscuits. These brown off much more quickly in the oven and puff up at first then spread out rapidly. If you get them out before they go too dark, they still taste fab, but are much more crunchy. - If you have more mix left, i.e. a double batch, just add a touch more flour until the texture is a bit drier.
Too much flour.. the biscuits puff up, and sit like amaretti biscuits almost, only without the hollow centre. They are more doughy. - Again, if you want to save the mix, add a bit of butter to the finished dough and mix it in!
They are very forgiving and edible in almost every circumstance, scrummy in most!! Will add pic links tomorrow, as I have just killed my phone battery

Oooh I just read back! Thank you for moussaka idea and the dip. I like moussaka. Sister has made before. I will google it
I am at work, on my 'lunch' but I am on here and typing up the post spreadsheet for the day as colleague is on holiday and kindly advised everyone that I would do it on my first day back.delightful.
Got lotsa work on, Him has friend who brought him over this morning at the crack of dawn and after a rubbish nights sleep and sorting a grumpy Jellytot at half 6 this morning I am not feeling the love for friends being over. Once E is in bed I think I am going to take myself off to my room and ignore them. I wasn't going to feed friend but there may scrape enough dinner to feed him. I was hoping to make two days worth out of it which that will ruin. What to do, what to do? Him has told friend he won't be fed but is welcome to fetch himself something and cook it here. Sounds rude, but this is the 3rd time this month he has been here, and I am fed up of ruining meal plans and stretching food that shouldn't stretch to fit him. ALso when it is the other way around, he never feeds Him at all.. No matter if it is 2 nights or 2 hours he is staying. So why do I not do the same?
Off to write more post up then waddle around...back killing me. Painkillers at half 1. Counting it down. Don't think the bad nights sleep helped.

Lilt - He is taking the !!!!!!, PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN it is yours and jellies home and he needs to remember he is still a guest in it.
Hope you don't think I'm being harsh.x.0 -
He is a bit isn't he?
Him doesn't see the problem, but always complains about this friend and the fact he is SO STINGY with his money. He is the self styled godfather of Jellytot although she is not christened. As yet, the £100 for her first birthday, plus Christmas presents and a 2nd birthday present have not materialised. I am not money-grabbing but she didn't even get a card then he lords about on Facebook telling people on photos of her that he will be at the door breaking kneecaps when the boys come a calling etc.
Him has been a bit offended that I won't make dinner stretch. The thing is, this is getting to be a weekly thing and frankly feeding Him meat dinners is expensive, but a third person too is actually a lot of money. I think he is embarrassed whereas I don't have any problem telling him I can't afford to feed him. I earn half his salary and have a child to provide for!
Don't worry Penny... I know you're right! No offense taken!
