    say yes to drugs!

    hope back is easing :)

I know it doesn't compare but I once pulled a muscle in my lower back and had no idea until that point that doing anything involves your back, as you must be very aware. I know I would be a right moaner if I had ruptured disks etc to deal with so I think the positive way you're handling it is really fab <sticks tongue out at liltyMIL for being unsupportive>

Haaaaaa. There is someone called L_D on here somewhere. Maybe they are all me!?! Am I even me? It is hard to tell under the volume of painkillers tonight. Back has been much better, but I did too much.

Namely I sat on the kitchen floor, emptied out every food cupboard and did a stock take. I am better stocked up than most supermarkets. This is going to be a fun month! Anyone know how much pieces of duck cost? Where best to get them? I've some basmati rice, a japanese sauce just begging for duck risotto. What to do with 2.4kg of red lentils. And so many rice krispies that we do not eat. I smell rice krispie cakes coming on.

Speaking of childlike cooking. Today jellytot made yorkshire puddings with me. I will link up eventually but I am too addled right now. I should really be asleep. Anyhow! The puds were excellent! She was so happy with them she forgot herself and even ate her carrots.

I cancelled my hairdresser appointment for Tuesday morning. £24 I just can't squeak to this month. Jelly has one on the 19th. Unavoidable though as she has a tendency to get dreadlocks and howl like a banshee when it gets brushed unless trimmed every few weeks. Hers is a mere £8. Still needs to be found somewhere.

As does tomorrows train fare to see my new favourite smallest small person Mia & Jellytots boyfriend. You've seen him, kissing her? James <3

I am in credit with southern water, but less than at the last bill, so remain at paying them £19 a month. Meanwhile I pay £15 to the other water company, for the 'in' water and that hasn'e been enough. Sigh. They haven't put it up so will have to call them about this.

Today I am grateful for MSE friends, not having debts, having a small cushion of savings, and being more money savvy than any of my family combined.

Lots of love diary... and peeps xx

    Evening!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get to have baby snuggles today :( my own baby awoke with a streaming nose so bad I had to change her bed clothes, and has been a grumpy little oik for days so either she is brewing a cold or some teeth. Either one, I was not about to take her into a house with a 3 day old baby! imagine if she gave her a lurgy.

Plus sides: this meant that I did not spend ANY money today. 3rd day of August with no spends :) - put said oik to bed this afternoon and went for a nap myself. I didn't mean to. I was lying on the bed checking some lists off, and then got cold... so got in... and the pillow was too high so I lay on the one under it with that pillow over my head.... 2 hours later I woke up  and Jellytot had been asleep for 3! She woke up bright as a button of course. And wouldn't go to sleep tonight. Guess how long it took past usual bedtime for her to finally go to sleep? 3 hours..... :rotfl:

Tomorrow I splurge out: £237.60 for the final 4 weeks of nursery. £8.30 on a train fare to see aforementioned baby for snuggles whilst Jelly is at nursery (all being well), £5ish on a card and box of chocs for friends parents who were so lovely to me last month & deserve a thank you. Would be wise to also get in a loaf of bread at the same time. & some chocolate... Neeeeeeeeeeeeed choc for work.

No painkillers today. Didn't need them until 9ish when I tried to cut my toenails. Way too much for my back. retreated to bed as soon as done. I am sure I will be alright by the time I wake up.

Need some sleep now. Have a feeling someone will be making an appearance at 6 tomorrow morning :(

    Night!!!!!!!!! xx

Ooh. I remember it all so well. You are coping brilliantly.

Take care of your back. Mine is generally bad (upper) but was permanently bad in the lower from carrying DD when she was a baby and then when she was a little lazy legs :rotfl: Shes like Forest Gump at the moment. (Run Forest Run.... ). She just starts running and then I see her in the distance and she gets in about half an hour after I've stopped running. Bless.

Have a good nights sleep and a great day tomorrow, enjoy the cuddles x. :)

Hello diary, lovely Super Dave & lovely Lobbyludd!

I have had an action packed day today. Jellytot woke inexplicably in the night. Pain, gooey nose & being wedged down the side of the bed contributed. She went back off quite quickly once sorted out, but I didn't. We then got up late for nursery as I let her lie in as long as she was sleeping. At nursery a little under half an hour late, not bad. Then onto town. I bought 2 cards. Got 15% discount thanks to Him working there, so £1.34 for 2 cards :rotfl:. Went to the 99p store and picked up a box of chocolates & a box of special nougat. Then went to Mr A's for bread £1, milk £1, & present for friends DS £6 (incl £1 of choc lollies), stopped off to get some snacks for him (brought a friend to camp out at my flat today for the day so that I could go visit my own friend) and finally got my prescription & came home.

So yesterdays projected £5 cost for thank you card & chocolates became: £1.66 :D
Total spend on new baby, her brother etc this month £21.67 :D and a few extra bits collected over the months takes it to a total spend of around £35. I am grateful for friends like her... <3

Groceries poked up to over £55 for Aug. Shall not need anything else this week *wills it to be so*

Again I did not get newborn cuddles :( friend is struggling today with newbornness (awake every hour in the night!) and sore post-labour body so I have given her a break. I will get over there at the weekend and at least I know I have everything ready now :D itching for those cuddles though, and to sniff that little head. Newborns smell divine.

After shopping, Him and friend arrived. I left them to it, got on with cleaning the kitchen a bit, washing, ironing & general house tidying. Knowing I wasn't going anywhere was a bit of a downer as it meant I felt the need to chase around after them. I made a delicious dinner though.

GP's Piadina's to go with homemade minted chicken kebabs, onion rings & a few oven chips. It was lovely, although I think I will try flavouring the Piadina's next time, with something spicy maybe. The texture was good and that is the first time I have made anything like a dough in about 15 years! The closest I come is baking biscuits! I may do that tomorrow night... :)

I did buy chocolate by the way :D Mr A own brand stuff so we shall see. So long as it is mainly like chocolate I don't care! £1 for 200g was the cheapest there was.. why is everything so expensive... for much less and worse quality.

I am exhausted now. So I have popped myself into bed and can feel my eyes closing themselves. Work for the next 3 days straight... And then only 3 days the following week and an 11 day holiday! Woop!

    Night all. Lots of hugs!
