  • Sholly the last 2 I opened have no overdrafts on them. I was given the option twice, £900 on one, and "anything you want" on todays :rotfl: but I just don't need it. When I read online for the TeeEssBee account, it said an 'extra' credit check was required for the OD, so I think it is that which marks your credit file, as it is extra credit. I have no intention of going anywhere near my OD, £2k sitting in one account, and £1700 in the other, going up all the time, so I hope no charges ever ;)

Have to say though, I was very reluctant originally to part with my longstanding bank account as had the belief that I had to have long term credit history with at least one account to ensure my credit file was ok, as too many new accounts looked like a bit of a flight risk and possible issues with cashflow.

I have a £1500 limit on a credit card which the balance is cleared in full from each month. (remind me to use that!)
    £500 OD on main account
£100 OD soon to be replaced by nil OD
£100 OD just because Halifocks are such stinkers with their charges and I barely grace the account with money for more than 5 minutes a month :rotfl:

So not huge amounts of credit. I used to have probably triple that just between a credit card and one OD back in the day when I was paying £35 or so for an account :)

As for the neighbour, no but 2 neighbours so far have 101'd him. Apparently his flat is covered in needles, and I swear people are in and out of his flat at all bl00dy hours... 30-40 times today alone. Driving me mad because his front door is behind my head and it wakes me up or keeps me awake!

Westie Jelly is a moody so and so and very tired, but in bed on the dot of 6 tonight and fast asleep. Have to be honest I don't really pay attention to what sets my back off and what doesn't. I am such a 'get on with it' person, as frankly, if I wasn't I wouldn't have got out of bed for the last 15 years. I self-medicate when necessary and grin and bear it when I can. Certain things set me off, but I don't avoid them 100%, I just try and limit it or spread it out. I have too much to do, hence why I opted for an op to try and give me the chance to go back to the gym, and add in some core body work, on top of just being *normal* whatever that is. Lucky for me, it seems to be working now, and I will be adding a gym membership into my budget shortly :) :T:T:T :j:j:j:j

I am off for a nice hot shower and then to bed folks. I bid you goodnight and hope to be around evenings this week but I feel quite tired and am trying to fit a lot in so might not be here. I am sure you will all cope ;)

    Hugs xx

Sorry to hear about your problem neighbour, hope he calms down. We had the neighbours from hell living across the landing from us in our flat for about a year. They were a young couple with a toddler who fought constantly and had wild parties every weekend (really not good when we are both shift workers). Their front door was kicked in several times and the police were always there. They were eventually evicted but I think the flat was trashed before they left.

Enjoy your shower and hope you have a nice sleep.:)

  • All is well. Am fighting off the mother of all cold bugs with my ninja skills. *HEEEEYAAAAHH*

Work is ok, boring and stressful at the same time. Everytime I sort something it climbs back out of the completed pile and bites me on the bum. Group pensions... super fun. NOT.

Jelly is much recovered and bouncing back. Am keeping my eyes peeled because she had a broad spectrum antibiotic to cover the ear and the UTI and one or the other might bounce back after the antibiotics are done, which they were last night. Seems ok right now.

Paperwork received, signed, & sent back to YorkBank. Also set up another little plastic folder in my filing cabinet and labelled it up for all the bumpf they sent me.

Contacted tax credits Tuesday & got nursery to sign paperwork for the council so that the teeny weeny £12 a week I pay is noted everywhere it needs to be. Happy paying it, but that isn't how it works apparently. Anyway I sent off the paperwork via email to the council today & had confirmation of receipt so now I sit on my hands and wait for paperwork to come out while they all try and figure it out 3x over.

Not much else to report. Neighbour a nightmare. Have phoned 101 and reported him for dealing and doing drugs. Have spoken to my landlord and he will see if he can sort out cctv outside my flat door. That has the dual benefit of recording his comings and goings every 10 minutes. Contacted the management company for the building and told them everything, gave them my police ref number. Hopefully they can all work together to get rid of him. Then again who else will move in there, it was a dump to start off with and now he has burnt half the carpets and smashed a window in between the kitchen/living room. Sigh.

Got nowt else to report. It keeps snowing on me on my way to and from work. Highly inconvenient :rotfl:

Glad to hear things are ticking along OK and that Jelly has recovered a fair bit:)
I know what you mean about work being stressful and boring at the same time! And also yep the snow is a pain in the A$S, sick of it, although I suspect we've had a lot less than you cos none of ours has really stayed on the ground, just some big hefty flakes coming out of the sky.

Kudos dealing with Group Pensions, I have enough trouble understanding my own :rotfl:

Really feel for you with the neighbour and hope the peeps work together quickly to get rid, sort the flat and give you a nice new one and some peace and quiet.

Great to hear Jelly on the mend too.

Thanks for listing all your accounts, that's inspired me to start looking properly at opening a new one - Nationw!de Flex looks like my start point.

Hope the snow stops and you get a dry walk to and from work very soon :D

Thanks for the bank help Lilt, I'll definitely look into getting on the bandwagon (I had put "bankwagon" but it sounded dodgy when I read it back...ha!). I hope you get a lovely new neighbour, he sounds like a nightmare.

    xx
