They should do, you should be able to get the number for reception at you're mail centre and get through, otherwise pm me the details on the delivery office/mail centre and I'll try and get numbers for you.0 -
It wasn't opened, I was charged VAT based on the value (which was correct) that was put on th CN22.
Even if it was opened as it was a jiffy bag I'm fairly sure it doesn't cost £8 in someones time to open a small bag, and get out a calculator.
How do you pay it in advance anyway? Just curious.
Hi,
The £8 could have been customs duty ( I have a table with the rates of duty & Vat on, if you tell me the type of item it is I can tell you the %).0 -

The £8 is the charge they put on for checking and charging VAT and TAX on the item so its on top of the vat and tax0 -
Well the end of Royal Mail is nigh, it has been annoucned today that we are going for later starts. Full time staff will start their shifts at 0630, part time at 0800. This means deliveries wont take place before 1000 and with TNT having a delivery network up and running in the near future, who the hell is going to use RM?I'm back after a break :money:0

Overheard at a sorting office customer counter yesterday:
Royal Mail Man Behind Counter(RMMBC): So then, any o' your lot scabbin' on Friday?
Visiting RMM: Well there's XXXXX - he did it last time
RMMBC: Yeah its normally the new ones though - but can put the pressure on them. Hope 'e gets run over ....
RMMBC: Dint see you at the Long Service Dinner?
VRMM: Nah, couldn't make it could I, the missus had already arranged somefing.
RMMBC: My missus got blind drunk dint she, fell on her ar*e, silly b*tch!
RMMBC: Meant to tell you, saw old YYYYY, sat next to him didnt I. First time I'd spoken to him since he suspended me Z years ago. Bit difficult eh? No problem though. He just kept getting me drinks.
VRMM: Yeah well.
RMMBC: Go easy then.
VRMM: Yeah see yer.
Oh the nostalgia of it! Took me right back to the early seventies! Peter Sellers even, I'm All Right Jack!0 -
rabbit_burrow wrote: »Where are people moaning about the cost of RM post? I haven't seen any on this thread. Someone made a comment meaning 'would you rather pay 41p', to which I replied that it would go upto that anyway if RM wants it to, but I haven't seen anyone actually moaning about the price. I have only seen lots of misunderstandings to people's posts.
i meant in general..... especially when they changed the pricing structure with parcels.... large letter etc.... and then a few months after that had their annual price review.. and had a price increase in april......Work to live= not live to work0 -
At my office, the full time starts are changing to 6.45am and 9.20am (!!!) for part timers (of which the number is rapidly increasing). A large part of North West Manchester looks set to receive its mail circa 3-4pm.
.
I'm in Greater London and already routinely get my post later in the afternoon, it all depends on which way round the postmen walk. Tuesday for instance it was about 2pm, but it can arrive as 'early' as 11.am or as late as 4pm.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
