Anybody else been as stupid as me ???

I risked posting a low cost item of around £5. It was Friday - and was the only item not paid for, and i was on way to Post Office. I wanted an Ebay free weekend and buyer had feedback of 245.
He never paid and ignored my emails.
I too, have done this before, and in just the nick of time, the item was paid just before it was delivered.:D
This time (which was a genuine error) I had no intention of posting before payment - not so lucky this time:(Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -

I (thought) I also filtered this to NOT accept any bids from a bidder with a feedback of UNDER 5. (So how this bidder got through the filter - I'm not sure)
There is no blanket block for bidders of less than 5 feedback.
There are 2 settings which is maybe what you've ticked:
Buyers who may bid on several of my items and not pay for them
Block buyers who are currently winning or have bought X of my items in the last 10 days.
Only apply this block to buyers who have a Feedback score of 5 or lower.
Buyers with no credit card on file
Block buyers who do not have a credit card on file.
Only apply this block to buyers who have a Feedback score of 5 or lower.
When blocked buyers place a credit card on file, they'll be allowed to bid on or buy your item.
~So your buyer may have less than 5 feedback but have a credit card on file, thus allowing him to bid.
Please, please if he doesn't pay, do the full NPB and get him a strike on his account - do NOT leave him feedback!
I have a buyer playing me around at the moment, had other sellers done NPB and not left feedback he would never have been able to buy from me.0 -

What good is that if they still don't pay ???

Thanks, that explains it, I thought I saw it somewhere.
I have opened a case against him, and I am now allowed to close it as still no payment received.
Am I correct in thinking a full NPB Sequence is;
Open a case
No payment received - so close case
Do not leave feedback
Have I missed anything?Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -
Add the buyer to your blocked bidders list. I do this as soon as I open a NPB case even if they pay in the end.0

You can open a NPB on day 2 of non payment and close it exactly 4 days after opening. If the buyer doesn't pay neither of you can leave feedback. Add his ID to your blocked bidder list.0

Just thought I would give an update.
Today I arrived home and opened a parcel that had been returned to me. Guess what - the very item my buyer had not paid for.
The parcel had been opened and sealed with brown tape, so not sure if it came from the buyer or the Post Office.
I do wonder if it had anything to do with the fact I sent the buyer a message every so often, just stating
No payment received as yet. Although the last one I sent I put
Do the right thing - still awaiting payment.
Maybe they had a concience after all. Who knows.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -
What happened with the NPB case?
Did you escalate it to get your FVFs back? EDIT - seen the answer above!0 -
Yes, I did that once; many years ago, when selling hundreds of things (my parents were moving overseas). They never paid; I got my fees back, but not the cost of the item, which was a shame as it was a designer coat that'd gone for a fair bit. In retrospect, given that I had their name and address, I probably could have followed up more and got the police involved to recover it, but I was a teenager at the time and not as aware as I am now.
Now I never package anything until it's paid for (which is also handy as in the same batch I saw that one person had bought a few things and already had them packaged individually).
Glad you got the item back though, you were lucky!Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

Yes, I THOUGHT I was too ................... However, once I had
checked the item (made sure it was still in original brand new condition) - I relisted the item.
Again was sold, for nearly the very same price, to a buyer who again had a very low feedback score.
Posted 3 items all on same day - got 2 glowing feedback at how quickly they were delivered and nothing from the third.
Until today - case opened against me for "item not received"
Strangely enough the message that was included ended with a name, but it was not the name I posted to.
I have replied and asked them to confirm Name and address that the item should have been posted to.
Have not yet had a reply. Do they need to reply or can they just wait until the date of closure, then they are given their amount back???
Ever felt haunted by an item ???? I fear the worst.:(Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0
