argos used hairdryer!

well decided not to take the hairdryer back at all, it has a guaruntee, so if it is faulty hopefully it will happen in the first twelve months, decided not to dwellon the hair I found in the box......then my husband passed me an argos suppliment from the sunday paper, 3 days since I bought the damn thing, they have now been reduced from £18 to £10, oh the injustice, i bet all the ones they have left are brand spanking new ones!!!!!! You have to laugh dont you!
I would still take it back a complain so ,such going over the sales of goods act and that you contact all the people that will get argos into trouble aka the electric safety, trading standards, etc.0 -
Yea you could. But for the sake of a few bob why waste your time, queue up, moan and yak on about trading standards, electrical safety, sale of goods act.
Chances are the customer services person will end up with glazed eyes within 3 minutes of listening and automatically swap / refund the item.
However, there is the hassle of driving in town, parking the car, walking to the store, getting in line, waiting, complaining, walking back to the car, paying for the ticket and getting home.
Hassle!0 -
Not worth the hassle.0

update:
used the hairdryer last night and it started giving me tiny electric shocks!!!
every time it went anywhere near my face I got a sharp pin !!!!! feeling in my cheek!!!! (now, now, dont be rude!!) I dont think it is a major electric fault as such, perhaps the fan inside is rubbing on something and building up a bit of static, but even so........now where did I put that receipt........! :rotfl:0 -
Your just paranoid.0

I wouldnt worry about it.

Its a small amount of electricity.;) You have to start worrying  if your hair starts to stand on end or starts to dry out.:rotfl:0 -

Then BANG shes dead! And all she had to do it take it back to argos and complain.0 -
Sounds like you've found out why it was returned the first time.
Maybe you should take it back now? You can always ask the staff to try it themselves if they don't believe you.0 -
thanks blogcast and casey, I think you are right, this is probably why it was returned before, maybe got mixed up in the warehouse, im sure Argos would not deliberatly re sell something that has an electrical fault!?0
-
According to some of the posters here you'd think retailers are nothing more than assassins in the shadows and guise of a corporation.
Argos may of made a mistake.0
