  • Beware if you are 'downgrading' phones to MotoG. My friend got a MotoG and when he tried to transfer his apps and use them, several won't work - like SkyGo.

Sky Go works here, I haven't come across one app that doesn't work on my Moto G that I used to have on my HTC One X

Just got one for £59 from Tesco. Spent £20 in a high street unlocker. Now need to figure out how to get my number, contacts and messages transferred from my old Vodafone-locked Huawei's Talkmobile SIM, onto the Moto G's microSIM. Got a feeling this is going to be a lifetime's work!

If you are going to stay with Android, its time to get all of your contacts stored as Google contacts. Each contact should contain all the phone numbers and email address for the person. This can be done from a desktop PC.
Once this is done your contacts will automatically sync with the phone as you set it up.

Moto G does have the transfer App, but still worth doing the Google contact thing. Its just loads of work going from Bob work, Bob home Bob mobile, to one contact for Bob containing all his possible contacts.

Well worth it once done though, makes the most of the system.

£20 for unlock?:eek::eek: oh dear fails the MSE ethos I am afraid! You can get it via Ebay sellers for less than £2 who respond with the unlock code from a few minutes to 24 hours max. Plenty of people on here would have recommended a decent seller.

Yeah, tried that. Guy sent us a 30+ digit string of gobbledygook and DW used up a unlocking attempt trying to make sense of it (and she's a lot better than me in this kind of stuff). We knew you only get a few attempts and went to the high street.

We were sent the proper code with an apology later but too late. :(

Luck of the draw who you get on t'internet I suppose.

Tried the migration app. Works really well.

Next step going to try my three microsim on my route to work to check for reception. Yep I know that there's maps on the web that show reception but I doubt they're uptodate.

Anybody know if I stay with talkmobile would they convert my PAYG miniSIM to a microSIM for free?
