Is the new motorolla budget phone better than the nexus 4? I currently have the nexus 4 and fancy a change. Is it worth selling it and getting the moto G or is that a step backwards? Thanks!

In terms of specs it is not better, but in terms of value for money it probably is.0 -
Thanks Grumbler. I'm drawn to the moto assist feature in particular. The "ok google" command doesn't work very well on the nexus 4 on kitkat. I wonder if it's any better on the moto g.0

Moto G doesn't run Kitkat yet (promised early next year), so it can't be compared to the N4 or N50 -
Well, mine arrived today and the Antutu Benchmark is higher than Nexus 4  Said it before, this phone is an absolute game changer for the smartphone market (not just Android). This phone cost me £89 from Tesco plus £2.03 for get it unlocked from ebay (the code took literally 5 mins to arrive!). Even forgetting the performance, the quality feel this phone has at this price is just unbelievable. The other smartphone manufacturers must be scratching their heads (and changing into their brown trousers) after checking the Moto G out.
PS Motorola Migrate is a fantastic tool. You literally just install it (from play store) on your old phone then scan the barcode thingy that appears and voila, all the stuff on your old phone starts transferring as if by magic onto the Moto G.0 -

The G doesn't have Moto Assist, that's the X. Also the OK Google hotword is US only, that's why it doesn't work on your N4 (which is better than the G in every way).0 -

I bought the 8GB one for the Mrs for £84 using the £15 voucher at Tesco. I have been into Smartphones since internet on mobiles was text based and on an LCD screen, and agree that this phone is a game-changer at this price point. The screen quality is just wrong at this price, it ought to be twice this price! Not only that, it feels great in the hand. The all-black theme extends to the display where the bezel and the actual screen are almost indistinguishable when the display is off. I was almost tempted to get one myself (I have a HTC One X).Charles J0 -

It does indeed have Moto Assist straight out of the box as I use it every day.
OK Google works fine, too, you have to change the voice to US in settings.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
