If you bring up Google Now, then on the bottom right you'll see three little dots, press that and choose settings, select voice and choose English (US).
Doing this the OK Google hotword will now work.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

That's good to know! But on mine I still have to swipe from the bottom and then say "ok google". It doesn't make too much of a difference in saying that or tapping the mic. Is that how it works on everyone's or can you activate it without swiping?0 -

No, you have to be in the app anyway, I find.
But if you've got multiple questions for Google you can just stay in the app and say OK Google each time you want to ask something.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

iv just bought one from tesco store 129. no discount, thinking of putting atesco monthly sim in there as opposed to unlocking. what do ppl think ?0

true, but its kinda annoying the adverts when im browsing. question though do i need to put the phone on to unlock with the tesco pay as you go sim inside it. do i just put the unlock code in as if i was typing a phone number to call someone ?0

It does indeed have Moto Assist straight out of the box as I use it every day.
OK Google works fine, too, you have to change the voice to US in settings.
That ruins the nice lady's accent though
You're right, it does 'fix' it though, I used it for a week or so before realising I didn't really care that I could talk to my phone without tapping the mic icon, since I'd have to put the pattern in to get it into a listening state anyway.0 -

They are indeed well made, feel quite heavy compared to others.0

Just bought the 16GB Moto G from Tesco (after patiently waiting for more stock online for the last few days!). I intend on getting the unlock code from Ebay & using my GiffGaff sim. Only problem is, the Tesco micro sim comes already in the phone and I can't seem to get it out! Has anyone else noticed this is really fiddly? I'm a little worried about damaging the phone if I try to tweezer it out - any tips? Thanks!... Just Keep Swimming ...0
