i'm sorry I do not agree with this at all.

In fact it's dispicable. No it's not fair that local people are being pushed out of thier area because of lack of property but that does not mean you should take something thats not yours because of some stupid sqatters rights.

I've just bought my own home and would hate to think while we are doing it up and living in our rented home until the tenacy was up someone just decided to move in and it was ok.

If you couldn't afford a car and one was sitting by the side of the road and you broke in and drove it wouldn't that be stealing.

Its down right theft!!!. People have paid for those homes, it's thier names on the deeds it's thier property. whether this is legally ok it's totally morally wrong.

What an example to set!!!. i'm horrified. I cannot condone this at all!!! sorry
I direct the right honourable member to the answer I gave a few moments ago. But to paraphrase for the (deliberately) stupid - a car is not a necessity, shelter is.

Red Montag says "seize under-used resources for the greater good."

There's a good reason why squatters have rights, it's because in days of yore (& apparently today) if people were holding property without making fruitful use of it, other people could make use of it, & given time, the property which they had used for many years would become theirs.

    Economically it's a very good idea.:T:T:T

Good luck to the Cornish & Lake District rebels.
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

You lot are utterly deluded, and chav scum comes to mind. Your trying to dumb down and say someone is thick because they can see that this is nothing more than envy and stealing.

Go and vandalise other peoples goods because YOU want it. Go and steal someones house, live off them until an ancient law states that the house is yours.

How about grow a backbone and work for your home. A house is NOT a right. Not in any way, shape or form. If your in rented accomodation now, your going against everything your saying.

I'd expect to hear this from a group of people wearing tracksuits, drinking Skol and on benefits for a wart on their thumb. Not on MSE.

    Disgusting.

Is taking other peoples possesions for your benefit as you 'want' it, the way to go!? Forget the emotional turmoil you will put that other person through, not your problem eh?

You know what this is barmy!!

these are peoples houses. regardless of the fact they are not lived in.

I cannot believe so many people think stealing peoples homes is an ok thing to do. this should be against the law.

I know people who have bought 2nd houses for family to use for holidays and to rent out during the time they are not using it as part of what will be thier pension. This is because they feel the investment in property is better than a pension.

It's thier right as a human being to do this.

It is also a human right to protest against destroying the community in which one lives.

This squatting is an excellent way to protest. It certainly has got your attention!

So lots of houses are holiday/second homes. That should mean for the locals there's lots of work as domestic servants, gardeners, scullery maids, etc. or they get on t'bike and go where they can earn a wage rather than loll about on benefits, smoking dope then steal other people's property.

Squatting IS destroying your community you fool!!!!!

Yes it's a human right to protest. But it is NOT a human right to steal while protesting. Neither is a human right to vandalise others property as part of your protest.

It's only got peoples attention because it is utterly insane, and like I say, just sounds like a chavtastic way of doing things.
