All you no sleepers need a grounding sheet. ( I don't work for them or get commission LOL )

You will sleep more soundly and wake up more refreshed....honest. Read the Amazon reviews even the 3 star is a thumbs up.

I was reading your link this morning. If I get grass in the back garden i'll get grounded. I also need flipping blackout curtains, as sleeping in a south facing room during the day is murder.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

OMG I couldn't have worms...well at least not ones that could escape, I ...wasn't very impressed at meeting one today when shoved daff bulbs in mum brought up last week, but it was just one..(bit late apparently. but we'll see. I got told my other bulbs wouldn't do anything and they are)....yay.

I know they are great etc for the garden and should be encouraged...a bit..but always hated worms as a kid too, never did the collect worms thing.

My dad used to threaten to not feed me normal food and give me worm sandwiches...............i am damaged....lol.

Don't spend a fortune on blackout curtains. I did, and there will ALWAYS be a bleed of light at the edges, no matter what you do. That drove me more nuts than the ordinary curtains!

Anyhow, my neighbour is a nurse who does night duties on roster. She told me to use the black eye masks you use on a plane.

I did. And have never looked back. In fact, my sister who finds sleeping very difficult has found them amazing!

    Hope that might help.

I went in my local Garden Centre yesterday and they had reduced all their packets of bulbs from £5 to 50p so I'm afraid I went a bit mad. I bought 12 x 25 tulips. I bought some last year and they were fantastic so this afternoon I planted 175 bulbs in various pots. Then had to make them chicken proof as they have already dug up some of last years bulbs in their quest for worms. I'll try and put thee rest in tomorrow if fine.

One of my resolutions this year is to do 30 mins to an hours gardening a day. We have quite a big garden and a wood so lots to keep me busy.

    Morning All :j

Lovely to see such positive starts to the year :)

I might have been at work :(, but I managed to keep going on some resolutions - I walked for an hour at lunchtime :T, and steered clear of anything sweet or alcoholic (kept busy last night which definitely stopped me heading for a glass of something, but my danger time will be tonight onwards...it's such a habit to have a drink on a weekend).

I also made a list of chores for the weekend; just little things like taking down the fairy lights, laying the fire etc, but it will all make life easier for me, and ticking off lists, makes me feel so good :p. I'm not quite as bad as having "make a list" on the top of my list, just so I can tick it off...but....I see the benefits :rotfl:

Moving forward on meeting people, doing new things, I've this morning accepted a meetup for an exhibition at the Hatton Gallery and poss lunch in early Feb.

Boddy/Calicocat take a look at the Hatton Gallery website (Marilyn Monroe photo exhibition) and let me know if you fancy joining in. Feb 8th (Sat).

    So, not bad really...

I'm working from home today so hope to clear some of my list in my lunch hour :T

Better get dressed and get on...have a lovely day

    LB xx

WFH, mmmmm ;) I used to do that :D

It’s starting to get rather blustery here and thankfully I don’t have to go out for anything. The high winds we had just before Christmas practically demolished my neighbours trampoline it was quite scary watching it take off, snapping their washing line on its way before getting stuck and eventually bending over the pole .

I’m also making lists and looking forward to that smug satisfied feeling that ticking things off gives me – the only downside, in my world, generally as a consequence of completing one it generates another two, but it keeps me busy.

The weekend bottle or two of wine used to be a bit of a habit for me too. I don’t really like the usual soft drinks, too sweet and gassy for my taste. I have however replaced the wine with bottle green cordials; although they are quite pricey I managed to stock up on the spiced berry and the ginger and lemongrass when on offer at sainsbobs. I dilute them with sparkling water or tonic (served in a large posh wine glass of course :D) and they last me for months.

Done all my chores for the day and ticked off my list :cheesy: – think I may go cosy up in front of the telly with my box of chocs and watch dr zhivago……again. Wish I had a onesie, a blue and white strippy one.......just like andy pandy :)

Im considering giving up alcohol, just for now anyway, no point in eating clean as they call it and then having a drink on top, might save me some cash as well. Im trying to get the oomph up to go to the gym but weather is horrendous here, but I will go.

I did have cake last night and quite a lot of it but Ive only put on a pound over christmas and new year so Im quite happy with that

I might buy myself a couple of alcohol free beers from home bargains, at 25p each they wont break the bank.

Im used to rain living where I do, but its done nothing but rain for the last 4 weeks, am now heartily sick of it, just lucky that weve escaped the worst of the weather so far.

Well I am meant to be asleep....but Keith Moon...(not) is hard at it again. this is going to be a nightmare every weekend isn't it....ear plugs...and the suggested eye-pads....may as well just go to sleep in a motorbike helmet (the ones with black visor) and be done with it.

No exercise done here today as in bed, mint still alive, seeds presumably hanging out in the soil doing their 'thang'.

Chicken soup in fridge to take to work tonight, with a bit of luck all the tins of chocs will have been guzzled by now.

It takes 4 nursing staff from 13.30 until 20.00 to clear a large tin of sweets (if not less).

I have two bottles of fizz left so will have those as and when I do, then going to try not to buy any, not sure if it's better to think of this as a weekly challenge or monthly. I might put another jar up and put money saved into it so I can see another reason to do it. If I say have 2 bottles a week average (including being out and at home)...then that is At Least 40 a month isn't it..!!
