Im afraid Im not much of a gardener but do have some buddelia in for the butterflies. A couple of shrubs and some lavender and rosemary. A yellow rose bush in memory of my mum.

Bare feet on the ground is a very grounding thing to do. Connects us to our Mother Earth. I've always thought when out in the countryside/hills that it was food for my soul.

They're all good plants for the bees and butterflies

Agree 100% about needing the connection that walking in the countryside gives you. It is definitely food for the soul, as is gardening, cooking for loved ones, big virtual or real life hugs, purrs from furry-purries etc etc etc

  • Good for you, MummyBobble, you go for it! :T. Hope today has gone ok for you with the kids being with your ex. Are you pampering yourself? Hope so...

Pampering? Been out for cat litter and cleaned out the kitten's litter tray, my life is soooo rock and roll :rotfl: Kids are home (without having been fed) so just phoned out for a Chinese as a final treat (and a change from all the usual Christmas/party food). Feeling so positive I may even tackle the ironing mountain tomorrow - or I might just refold it so it looks tidier :D

It really has helped knowing that I'm not alone finding this time of year difficult when it appears that it should be such a perfect time. Thanks you all :A xx

    :rotfl:...not that you're an8l or anything? :rotfl:

Abso-bloomin-lutely that's good for you. I cannot bear to see all the paving slabs and gravel that so many people go for these days. No good for the bees and butterflies, and other beneficial creatures, no good for your soul :(

That's what I think...and I want to feel the grass between my toes in the summer. Will have to get quotes in to see how much it will all cost though as I have absolutely no idea.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Is it not possible to do some, if not all of it, without getting anyone in?

I keep trying to get the energy to start getting ready for work...I've got as far as setting my alarm :(

Possibly, I would have to get someone to remove all the flipping gravel though as it would kill my back.....but I know a bloke at work wants some of it if not all so he might do it for nothing if he wants it. then i'd just have to get some decent soil delivered and then turf it.

In fact next time I see him i'm going to ask if he still wants it....then i'd be a step nearer to the overall plan.

  • Hello

I was having a look through the threads an hour or so ago and got hooked on your thread and...well here I am! I really enjoyed all 24 pages :D

It was really heart warming to see so many people wish you Happy Christmas on the 25th! I just wanted to say I really hope you have a great 2014 and I hope going back to work isn't too bad ;)

One of my news years resolutions is to meet more people so I'm sad I'm not north :rotfl: you all sound lovely and made me giggle.
