A Singularly Lonely Christmas

Yes, I agree that £5 for popping in nearby twice in the day is fine.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I think that sounds ok, £5 for two visits. Id do that even as an adult.
So would I!! :rotfl:
I'm trying to bear in mind that this won't be regular work for her, so want to make it worth her while, but not be too stupid about it. The chicks themselves will only cost me a fiver each, if that... :rotfl:
Any other suggestions very welcome.
I'm off to shower and make myself beautiful for Calicocat's birthday celebrations...I fear I've not left enough time to achieve the latter aim :rotfl:
Have a lovely evening, everyone.

Read most of the post and it's so nice that things have taken a positive turn for you . Hope you have a good night out for Calicocat's birthday . I read that you're near Newcastle , dancing was mentioned too . I was wondering if you'd heard of a Ceroc , it's modern jive dancing ? We've been going for just over a year . It's for all ages , singles and couples and we really enjoy going . It's held at Blackfriars hall, New Bridge st. Newcastle . Wed evening , starts at 7.45 . The instructors and people who go are helpful and friendly, if you feel it's something you'd like to try . I'd be happy to meet you there if you don't want to go in alone . All best wishes to everyone for 2014 .0

Hi Scrapaholic, lovely to meet you :hello:
Do you know, if the class only started an hour earlier, I'd be tempted to give it a whirl, even though my feet are so unco-ordinated, they don't talk to each other even when simply walking :rotfl:
The problem is that I'm up at 6am to go to work, and extremely shattered by the end of a flat out day of [STRIKE]purgatory[/STRIKE] work, so I'm usually in my PJs by then. Pathetic? Yes I know. But the truth is that for a class that doesn't start until then, say it finishes about 9pm, I'd not be home until 9.45pm, still need to do my chores etc, and by the next day, I'd be too tired to function properly.
Sorry, I know I'm over explaining, but I'd hate you to think this is a "no, I cba"...it's a regretful no, it's just not practicable in a normal working week.
Lovely of you to suggest it, though, and even lovelier to offer to meet me to take me in. I really appreciate it, even though it's got to be a no.

Ah, that's a shame but I understand if you need to be up early . It doesn't end till after ten . How work interferes with a social life ! Thank you for replying though . Hope 2014 brings good things for you xx0

Just popping in quickly to say that i've had a lovely birthday spent with friends I have know for over two decades, and also a lovely new one.
Thank you LB for your company and hope you enjoyed it too, also thank you for the lovely plants.....i will find out from you where to put them in the next couple of days if I don't work it out myself (new to gardening for those that don't know).
I thought i'd also share something in a card I have just opened....as it I think suits this thread.
Legend says that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes of love, joy and celebration.
The hummingbirds delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning, and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I want to be a hummingbird when I grow up...or a cat in a good home...:)
Well, I'm shattered this morning! Absolutely good for nothing!
It's been an awful long time since I remembered I am an adult and allowed to be out after 9pm!!
Lovely company, fab meal, fab treat as I can't afford to do that often. I also don't have the right clothes any more for going for evenings out....3 years of frugaldom to achieve mortgage free meant no splurge evenings out....it's actually quite difficult to get into the mindset of evenings out. But as a treat, it was lovely! :T
I doubt I'll be moving much today...just between the living room and kitchen.... :rotfl:
I'll make an exception to go and talk chickens though!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone0 -
just saying hello and how much I am enjoying reading this thread, inspirational! thanks everyone

If you have the time LB, this has lots of chats about chickens but it is a bit long.
