Enjoy your Christmassy/Boxing Day LB. :j
I know you didn't ask for pressies, but I would have liked to give you a pressie anyway, I just enjoy doing it.
I will be following this thread now to see how you get on as you seem so nice and write with wit and humour, and I like it. :rotfl:
Enjoy Christmas day, I'm sure it will take your mind off things and well done for volunteering. xxxx0 -
LavenderBees Love how things have turned out for you. Enjoy your volunteering. Can I ask what kind of volunteering you are doing?
Calicocat Hugs. I love ice cream too. Saw some little pots of Hagen Daz the other day and thought Oooh.
Im volunteering today and tomorrow then off till Friday.
I always think of my Mum a bit more at Xmas. She loved it. When she was in care we used to get her and take her to the shops and wind all the Xmas toys up. She would laugh and really enjoy herself.
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Boxing Day will therefore be my Christmas Day. Looking forward to it. Psychologically, I will have got over the huge hurdle of missing loved ones on Christmas Day, and will be able to enjoy the day, I hope, wholeheartedly, and take my time.
Big Hugs, Calicocat, sleep well. Tomorrow is another day.
LB xx
I'd still find time to open things.xYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Your Mum sounds like she was a hoot :T
My volunteering is with CRISIS Homeless charity on City Road in Newcastle. I've not done anything like this before, but am hoping to enjoy it as well as maybe helping others. Even helping one other would make me feel better0 -
Happy Christmas, in whatever form it takes you, and a gentle head butt to the furries.0

Thanks for dropping by, PigeonPie, Spendless Karen and Binnie, and a very Happy Christmas to you, too
The Furry-Purries have spent all afternoon watching me constructing their present - a kind of cardboard castle for cats. It's taken me all afternoon, and now this huge monstrosity is finished, and taking up all of my tiny living room, they're not interested
Cats, luv 'em :rotfl:
I've managed to stay awake today, which is a minor miracle in itself. Was at Mr M's first thing to get some cheese for my much longed for cauli cheese...£35 later.... Still, my cauli crossed with macaroni cheese with chorizo and mushrooms concoction looks delish for later. No more shopping for me...
I called in at the local Care Home and spent an hour chatting with various lovely ladies. The wee pressie that made the most impact was a small box of T-bags. The tea is disgustingly weak in there
I've also had a trip to the local garden centre and treated myself to some half price indoor narcissi bulbs. The weather has been horrible here today, so I hope for a bit better weather tomorrow so I can plant them up and put them on a windowsill for nurturing into the early months of next year. This will definitely help keep me aware that spring is on it's way despite the dark days of Jan and Feb to get through.
I also got some half price baubles and intend to dress my wee Christmas tree (in a pot outside) tomorrow. Better late than never, eh?
It's been another pleasant day. Everyone I met this morning was in a happy mood and it was a real pleasure to chat to them; the cashier at the garden centre was singing and dancing, which made me laugh. Again, it was worth making the effort to go out, albeit it became more expensive than I'd ideally wanted
Tomorrow is a freebie NSD (thank goodness!) - a lie in, I hope. Then a long walk (weather permitting - suspect this won't happen so may be a lazy day), and back to light a candle to my loved ones while listening to the Carols from Kings.
I'm just catching up on the news, and watching how bad the weather has been in some places. I really hope you all manage to keep safe.

I've been mulling over your comment most of this afternoon, Karen, and can only say that it is taking some effort (and a little bit of money) to get myself up and running. The support on here has been instrumental in this, and also so has my having a plan, which is flexible, but is a good solid structure to build my time around.
It's a million times better than burying myself under a duvet for 2 weeks of wallowing. Though looking at the weather forecast, I may be doing just that tomorrow! :rotfl:
But it won't be a true wallow...as I'll have a bacon sarnie in hand. And truly, who can wallow with a bacon sarnie?
Not me, that's for sure.
Happy Christmas to you, too0
