gross misconduct..appeal

Unfortunately he has been found guilty of something he has not done. The prisons are full of innocent people.
You're getting some nasty replies because you and your son are attempting to cover up his failings with lies and deceit. It hardly puts your family across in a positive light. Sacked for bullying then lying to cover it up.
We are not attempting to cover up his failings at all. He hasnt any. Thats the whole point. Yes he was sacked along with two other 55 yesr old women. There is alot more to the story I cant go into and alot of mess within the office with other people. That dosnt give people the right to be nasty on here.0 -
When my son needed a reference from his former employer after he was made redundant, he couldn't get hold of his department manager, so he asked the deputy manager from another department (who he also got on better with). This was perfectly acceptable to his new employer.
However the deputy manager had also been made redundant so was no longer working at the company, so I don't know whether this made a difference to their being able to give a reference.
One job my son left because he and the manager did not get on, so he got a reference from the job before and was honest about why when going to interviews. However, he had not been sacked for gross misconduct, which I assume would make a difference.
Can your son not just sign up for an agency or do voluntary work if he is signing on, then he can give them as a referee?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

With all this lying and deceit going around, I hope you are sure your son's version of the tale is the truth, because based on the little bit of information you posted on here, I'd believe very little that comes out of his mouth.0 -
"My son hasn't got any failings" Seems a bit unlikely, everyone has failings.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Really?

Yes I am sure thank you. His version is true there are many people who have been interviewed regarding this and if you knew the full story then you wouldnt be saying that.all I originally wanted was advice not abuse from people who dont know the full story. There are many more people confirming nothing has gone on. There is alot of heresay no evidence and false allegations which are being investigated.0 -

Have you seen the interviews or attended the interviews of the people? I would also strongly advise against lying about his situation as the lies will come out sooner or later, as for references I wouldn't do it on headed paper from the company as that would make me liable for the sack too, and could be classed as fraud. As for evidence your son isn't privvy to anything until the investigation is concluded and what people say to his face and what they say in private is a different matter.
Personally I would go about repairing any reputation I have with the agencies and look forward instead of looking back. As for posters on here they are going on the information you have given which doesn't paint a very good light on you or your son.0 -
Y son is 22 has worked from leaving school. Goes uni part time to better himself. He and 2 women in there 50's were suspended in october as an investigation was started into alleged bullying of a collegue. To cut the story short alot has gone on alot of lies and alot of exagerations and bad management. All 3 have now been sacked. Appeals and grievances have gone in but we are now worried if he gets another job his p45 shows 7th oct as the date of leaving. Any one got any advice on how to get round this when giving it to new employer.0

Absolutely nothing I suppose. If youve no advice why comment that0

If he says to a new employer hes been sacked for bullying do you really think he will be employed in this climate when there are often hundreds after a job?
If he tells the truth he will remain unemployed, thats the way it is Im afraid.0 -
OP many agencies don't require references to sign up to them, I would go that route, he can do temp to perm work for them. As for his current employer they will give a truthful reference in their opinion. Or maybe he can compromise to an agreed reference that only mentions the dates he worked there.0
