Thanks its just hard to know what to for the best really. Surely if a reference was sent to a work collegue the company wouldnt know
The prospective employer would normally expect the reference to come from HR or management. Alarm bells are going to ring if this is not the case.
Your son is digging himself into an almighty hole. You are doing him no favours by encouraging it.0 -
That hes not been bullying this person. I havecread reports answers from various people that thry have picked and chosen and its just rubbish really. It all started as this person was favoured by his supervisor and played golf with her husband. My son and a few others brought up his timekeeping and a few other things and its escalated from there. There is so much going on and things said that are nothing to do with him or any allegation of bullying. Also another woman has emails of sexual harrassment from this man to her as she was also sacked..its a mess really.all down to bad management not sorting things out sooner and no fair investigation..sorry about the waffling0

Im not helping him dig a hole I think its just happened like this as he is scared they will think he is something hes not..it is still being investigated due to the appeal. It does say on gov website reference can be collegue but I know what you mean. Will just have to see what happens this week with job he went for last week.0

Other than coming clean and saying that he was suspended and assumed this counted as working. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Think will see what happens tomorrow and if he gets stuck I think that telling agencies the truth may have to be the way forward. Its not that he intended to lie he just didnt know what to do for the best.0

They can stop them doing so on company headed note paper and/or claiming it is being done on behalf of the company.
It would be very difficult to stop someone giving a character reference that indicated part of your knowledge of the person arose from having worked with the person.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Known as a testimony and no organisational HR dept will accept this as an alternative to a reference for obvious reasons.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Your son is 22 whatever has happened in the past, he really needs to start telling the truth. Its just about acceptable not to disclose facts when he is not asked about them, but he really has to grow up and take responsibility for his actions.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment.
