Target saver 3 latest rate from 1st August = 7.15%

Thanks, but I am a little confused about why you posted that here as I had already included that updated rate a while ago. (I edit the first post of this thread to keep it current.)

I do not wish to discourage people posting here though. If there are rates that have changed that I have not spotted then please do feel free to post here or send me a private message as I aim to keep that first post of this thread as up-to-date as possible.

Am I missing something with the Monmouthshire RS account? The T&Cs say "You will earn a substantial bonus at the year end (31 March) if you make all 12 monthly payments and as long as you make no more than one withdrawal."

This reads to me that to get the bonus you have to open the account in April!?

most ongoing regular savers pay the bonus if account is opened part way through the societies financial year as long as the saver has complied with the terms and conditions as far as he/she is able to, ie made all monthly payments that he/she has been physically able to make and not made more than 1 withdrawal, whether the bonus is paid prorata in the same way as the non bonus interest will be paid prorata, (remember all interest is "calculated" daily despite it being quoted as an annual rate) someone would have to check with the society concerned.

No, you don't have to open the account in April to qualify for the bonus rate of interest. I opened mine in December 2006. At the end of March I received interest at the bonus rate, after having made the qualifying payments - between the period from opening to the 1st interest payment.

It's a good account, which like YBS, can be viewed online. Also, because they pull the money via Direct Debit I earn interest on it twice for a couple of days during the time it takes them to debit it from my account.

As I bank with Nationwide, I am thinking of opening their RS. Does the monthly amount have to go in on a set day like with Alliance and Leicester?

What about YBS? Will any day do?

YBS website isn't brilliant. Have requested an application pack. When is interest paid?
