  • Hi.

It's warmed up to 3C and it's raining. Having said that we are supposed to be back in the deep freeze by the weekend.

A total of four ins as presents. Two creams, a body lotion, and a body wash. I'm not sure about "Country Chic" from BBW. It's not really "fresh" but my son liked the picture on the bottles and the sales girls in the store love him.

I have a few whoopsies from Sephora. I accidentally bought them for gifts and they were surplus to needs. It would be a shame to return them. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It's a very easy on the eyes blog, McCullogh. I have a friend who writes a perfume blog. I love her dearly but it can be heavy going. She reviews very niche and at times horribly expensive perfumes. Having said that, she did direct me to a scent that I really like.

Got a few used ups sitting on the counter to record but I think, I'm going to purge a couple of things, so will report back before year end.

    Hello all!

Went sales shopping yesterday, not a huge amount of toiletries but what with my online orders.....suffice to say the shelves are being well and truly restocked lol!

I'll declare it all once I can be bothered getting it in from the car, atm it's lashing it down and my coat is helpfully out in the car too! :o

I've also decided to get everything I have in gift sets, out of the packaging to encourage me to use the items inside!
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope everyone had a lovely day.

I have been thoroughly spoilt this year, and have received some lovely gifts, both toiletries and non toiletries. Think my favourite has to be the beautiful Swarovski necklace my other half bought me. Swarovski is a little bit of a tradition with us and this necklace was just beautiful!

On to the toiletries, I have a mixture of presents, NPI and sales shopping.

    Presents:

Bathhouse gin and tonic lip balm 15g
Victorias Secret Amber Romance fragrance mist 60ml
Victorias Secret Amber Romance hydrating body lotion 60ml
    L'occitane angelica hydration cream 1ml
L'occitane precious cream 1ml (two free with a l'occitane rose home fragrance from a friend)
    Sanctuary body wash 75ml
    Sanctuary body lotion 75ml
Sanctuary foaming bath soak 75ml (gift box)
Molton Brown pink pepperpod body wash 300ml
Molton Brown pink pepperpod nourishing body lotion 300ml
Molton Brown pink pepperpod body exfoliator 250ml (boxed gift set)
    L'occitane lavender foaming bath 100ml
L'occitane pivoine flora shower gel 75ml
L'occitane extra gentle milk soap 50g
    L'occitane almond shower oil 35ml
L'occitane shea butter hand cream 10ml
    L'occitane jasmin & bergamote body lotion 50ml
L'occitane immortelle precious cream 15ml (petit pleasures gift bag)

I also had one non purchased IN when I was picking up presents from Molton Brown:

Molton Brown eucalyptus body wash 30ml

And finally my sales shopping today:

    Sanctuary peptide transformation serum 3.5ml
Sanctuary thermal rose clay mask 7ml
Sanctuary ultimate facial cleansing oil 15ml
Sanctuary leave on exfoliating cream 10ml
Sanctuary peptide replenish night cream 10ml
Sanctuary peptide repair eye cream 5ml
From the sanctuary spa facial in a box, half price in the sale

Champneys spa indulgence oriental opulence shower cream 50ml
Champneys spa indulgence oriental opulence bubble heaven 50ml
Champaneys spa indulgence oriental opulence body cream 50ml
Champneys spa indulgence oriental opulence body glow 50ml
    and
Champneys spa treatments energising lime body scrub 50ml
Champneys spa treatments energising lime body souffl! 50ml
Champneys spa treatments energising lime hydrating body gel 50ml
Champney spa treatments energising lime body wash 50ml
I took a picture of my sales buys, and compared it with the purchases I made a good two years ago - moderately restrained! That brings my Ins to a total 36 this month

Can we have a pic of the necklace? :D

Re the sales shopping, it's nice to see others being more restrained too, I know I've bought a lot but this thread has stopped me buying for the sake of it, I've actually bought only stuff I really liked the look of and know I'll use rather than just buying things because they're cheap, I see that as a progression!

Well this is an interesting thread; I thought it was about not buying toiletries - are you all allowed the month of for December? :D

Welcome to the thread cakeadoodle! I found the best thing for me was to gather everything up and lay it all out on my bed, photograph it and make a list, with different categories. Then I picked something from each category to work on, put it in the bathroom/place it needed to be, and put everything else in the big drawer of my wardrobe, so I wasn't tempted to swap around! I found that the visual reminder of the photos and the logical categorical list really helped me focus to begin with! :) I'm always checking my list and updating it!
It may seem daunting, but it'll help to get you dealing with the reality. Also, try to use up some one-time things like sachets or bathbombs to get the ball rolling :)

Welcome cakeadoodle. The tips Oxford Owl gives above are brilliant. I'd add though that it may be worth having a good look through your stash to ensure that nothing has gone off due to age. If you can tell how old things are try using them first.

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas Eve and are safe after the horrendous weather.

Went through my nail polishes and TA 8 that had gone gloopy and separated. Think they were fairly old ones. This takes me up to 200 outs :j This was my target for the end of the year :T

Well done on reaching your target KT. I think I'm going to approach this challenge by following the PP properly in that I'll try not to buy anything until those 10 items listed by me have been UUed.

Of course, this will have to start after the sales !!

I hope that all you lovely people are having a good Christmas, I feel so sorry for everyone suffering from flooding and power losses. I seem to have gained two lovely things for my bath & shower products drawer, will add then in later.

OH and I are having a lovely chilled time, have been two walks in the sunshine with Miss MM and cooking our main meal later. It is so different from the hellish time we had last year (family illness) when kind and supportive people here really helped me through it, so we are quietly giving thanks that matters resolved happily and sending loving thoughts to those that are going through their own difficulties at present.

Glad you had a lovely day maddiemay. We too have probably had the best Christmas Day in a long time in that it didn't feel clouded by the bereavements we've suffered together. Went out for dinner and I had duck which was gorgeous. Was lovely to have a nice meal and not feel overstuffed and uncomfortable afterwards.

Will let you all know my INs once I've caught up with the thread.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Hope everyone's having a good day?

I will have some INs to declare soon, from various sources :D Also I've decided to give up the challenge until 6th January, so I can partake in all the sales, then I'll start in earnest again and promise to buy nothing until my birthday in May xxx

I bow down to your resolve. The longest I've gone cold turkey is a month and that was some achievement for me I think.

No ins to declare for me. I can't promise I won't buy anything in the sales though. :D

No INs at Christmas is brilliant Babafette. I unfortunately can count on one hand those gifts that were not beauty orientated! x

I have 5 INs, all from DH. Not that I'm complaining! He commented on how the stash seemed to be reducing slowly and that it had "got a little out of hand". Hmmmm.... We're still talking - just! :D

    INs

    L'Occitane 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream 30ml
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream 30ml
    L'Occitane Lavande Hand Cream 30ml
    Prada Infusion D'Iris Perfume 50ml
Prada Infusion D'Iris Body Lotion 100ml

So, I'm not complaining too much! :D

    Merry Christmas everyone!
    :xmastree: :xmastree:

Lovely gifts there VickyA especially the L'Occitane hand creams. I adore the lavender one. I bought the Cherry Blossom one for my friend at work which I put together with a Cherry Blossom soap from my stash, the CB solid perfume tin and an Orly nail colour (again from stash). I decided to keep the Cherry Blossom shower gel that I had in stash and originally intended for her for myself as I now have the TBS Cherry Blossom body butter to accompany it.

MrM is also aware of my stash and this challenge and has noticed that I don't spend as much as I used to on toiletries. I have also trained both him and Emma to turn bottles upside down and cut open tubes/bottles to get every last drop of product out.

    Some updates from me....

    UUs
Elemis Evening Blooms Dry Body Oil 50ml - Disgusting smell to this stuff, going to sell the other two I've got, or give them away to charity, either way they're not staying here!
Lush Mint julips lip scrub 25g

I may be in the minority then about the Elemis Evening Blooms. I really like the smell. Saying that though I don't think I would buy it singularly once all mine are gone.

I also have the Lush lip scrub and am not sure it does anything at all. Keep trying to remember to use it. Maybe I should put this on my next PP list.

Wishing my MSE family a merry lil Christmas! :) I hope you've all had a special day Xxx I'm glad to hear this Christmas went well maddiemay, my mother was in ITU two years ago on Christmas so I can really relate to your comment... I feel very much the same x

    Xmas INs
    1. Body Shop Cranberry Set with shower gel, body butter, body polish, soap - body shop stuff always finds a way of coming back in my life!
    2. Clarins Eau Dynamisante Collection - spray, shower gel and body cream
    3. Ralph Lauren Big Pony Women Eau De Toillette Gift Set with 4 fragrances
    4. Philosophy Peppermint Stick 480ml

    Xxx

Some lovely gifts there Parisian. We bought Emma the RL set last year and she adores numbers 2 and 4.

I'm toying with the idea of buying a bottle of Philosophy Peppermint Stick. I had the Candy Cane one last year which I loved.

The daughter of a former colleague of mine has branched out into writing a make - up blog - and it's exceptionally well done too.

Emily was 11 the last time I saw her, she's now a poised, attractive 17 year old. :D
Emily says of herself "I love makeup (and buying it unnecessarily)" so I figure we can let her do some of that for us...

Lovely blog mcculloch. My daughter Emma also writes a blog. See link : http://glitterandwishes.blogspot.co.uk/

I am immensely proud of this and tell anyone and everyone about it. Emma feels a little embarrassed about it but I've told her she shouldn't. Love the quirky manner in which she reviews things. The last post she did was of our weekend away in York and if you look closely on one of the photos you can see me standing outside a shop foraging in my handbag. Hint: I'm the one wearing the huge hot pink snood.
    Hi.

I have a few whoopsies from Sephora. I accidentally bought them for gifts and they were surplus to needs. It would be a shame to return them. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    I like your style! x

    HI all,

Hope you had a good Christmas. Hubby went overboard on smellies for me so I should be good until at least my birthday in June! Will do a count up over the weekend ready for 2014's challenge.
  • Well I definitely have enough showergel to last me till next Christmas!

    Gifted INS:

    - Lush Rose Jam 100g
    - Lush Ro's Moisturiser thing
    - Lush Helping Hands Mini

    - Sanctuary mini shower gel
    - Sanctuary mini body lotion

Have a couple of UU to report too:

Good luck to those that make the pledge though :D

Thats why i left the thread - too tempting!:rotfl:
