Oh Asset, such good news! Enjoy your break, as Maddie says, pack your PRCP products.
I've just been accepted on a trial for a hair colouration product. Which, I now realise, means I can't colour my hair with the other half of the Aldi Carino dye before Christmas like I was going to. Ah...

*peers in mirror at stray greys*.

Oh well, it's got the '£100 For All Toiletries in 2014' off to a good start.

Is this a personal challenge? Or can anyone tag along?

I'd recently been trialling an anti-aging face serum applied at night and had to stop using it after a few days as my face reacted badly to it. My skin has never reacted to any cream before and I certainly wouldn't call it sensitive either. The company have suggested I may have had a reaction to the retinol in the product. Never used any retinol based products before...has anyone else experienced issues with retinol before?
  • Oooohhhh yes! What kind of reaction are you having? Retinol can cause peeling and dry skin, and has a purging stage. I've been using a strong Retinol based product for about 11 weeks now, and have only used it every three nights. The first few weeks I had extreme purging stage and my skin was practically flaking off! Now the dryness has calmed down a lot and while I am still getting spots, they are calming down. My product is 0.1% though.
    No more goo hoarding!

I think I might have suggested the £100 for 2014 challenge. Anyone can tag along. I might actually make it £120 for 2014 just so it's evenly spread over the year!

Actually have a couple of UU to report:

Lush New Shampoo Bar - Love this but its starting to make my hair really greasy really quickly. I have a couple of sample shampoos to use and then we'll see what I can move on to.

GOSH Black Ink eyeliner - I had this for years but since I've started tightlining everyday, I'm going through black liner pretty quickly. Would definitely buy it again but now I'm using Mac's Powerpoint e/l in Engraved.

Benefit They're Real Mascara - This was a mini sample and it's dried up finally. I love this! It gives me amazing lashes and I was lucky to be sent another mini to try so I'll be cracking that out over the holiday season. WBA

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara - This is my HG everyday mascara. Will definitely buy again but have a sample of a Laura Mercier mascara from a Birchbox to use try first!

I wonder if ValM might have meant China Glaze Ruby Pumps, this is the one that I have, when it came out in about 2008 I had to buy it from the US. A G**gle search throws up quite a lot of *bay with prices in the UK starting at £5.25. Nail Polish Direct are showing it in stock too.

Ruby Pumps is what I meant too! I had it ages ago and I'm sure it's in my parent's house somewhere (along with a million and one other things that I couldn't find when I moved out!). I've actually got CG Short and Sassy on my nails at the moment with CG Pure Joy on my ring fingers too.

  • Two INS - Kate Moss perfume and body lotion. I never normally buy celeb perfumes, but a friend gave me this, and it's actually quite nice. It's light and great for the daytime. Picked up a gift set on offer today.

  • Several UU to report:

Boots cotton wool pads - WBA but still have some left in stash.

Sure max protection cream deo - HG WBA

    2 x mouthwash

Lush bathbomb - unsure of type it was blue with stars - WMBA but there are others I prefer.

Miller & Harris citron shower gel & body lotion minis - WNBA body lotion wasnt moisturising enough and fragrance didnt last. PP items

Skinetica sample - WNBA was ineffective.

Garnier fresh essentials face wash - DD used this without complains so WBA.

Montagne Jeunesse burita smoothie sachet - WMBA this initially had a really strange smell but once on was pleasant and cream was very moisturising.

Clarins body treatment oil - WNBA my DD called this 'granny' due to the smell. I hated it and its safe to say I wont be rebuying. Another PP item.

Lots of outs in the form of Christmas gift deliveries.
