should we send boy to sports day or not

Hi, don't know if I'm putting this in the right section, appologises if I'm not.

Its our boys sports day this evening, he has been told by the school that he has to go regardless of the weather (it was cancelled last week because it was raining), they would not be able to rearrange another evening, would we be wrong in not sending him? the rain has been on and off today with really heavy downpours.

I never send mine if they don't want to go.

Great for the elite athletes but a total embarrassment for the rest.

Can they say this out of school hours  How old is your son and what would he prefer to do? If it was mine wanting to do it and it wouldn't inconvenience me going out in a shower of rain I'd let him go. If he doesn't want to, it makes it awkward for you picking up then I wouldn't bother.

Those that get the biggest cheer and admiration on sports day are those who find it most difficult!

Just because you're not good at something, doesn't mean you shouldn't try!!

I think you should send your boys regardless of the weather, and be proud of them for trying. (and jumping in big muddy puddles is SO much fun!)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If he's happy to go then I would take him. I'm sure the teachers find sports day a hassle and imagine how disappointing it will be if most don't turn up.

It's rain for goodness sake - we're not talking extreme conditions or anything!

Let him go - kids love getting soaked and, unless he's got some medical condition, it won't kill him - honest!!!

Dd went to a party recently - outside in the rain and they all had a fantastic time - they weren't bothered in the slightest!

For what reason are you considering not sending him?

Just because it's raining or is there something else?

perhaps hes susceptible to rust.wrap him up in a blanket, stick him in front of the telly and feed him fizzy pop and fatty snacks. then when he has no mates, cant laugh at himself, his teeth fall out and cant see his feet for man breasts wonder where it all went wrong when people bully him for being different!
