I am a sad bunny today. My car will be ready today, but I have no money to pay for it till Friday, so I am car-less till then. I waited for 90 minutes for the bus and it never came. Came back to work from home, cold and unhappy.

But on the bright side I scraped around and threw in a few coins for my pot last night.

Thank you to all who have said sympathetic things about my car costs, not a great time. My DS has stepped in to pay for Christmas food bless him, so we will make it.

Rosyq - thank you for the recipe, sounds yum

          1. Morning all,

I'm a total newbie but would love to join the sealed pot challenge please. I was going to buy a paper this morning, but instead will be putting the money in a pot :rotfl:

Now, need to subscribe to the post and add in a signature!
          2. I've changed my number and potting small loose change for now! its a pity where I live now has paper money for €1 and €2 equivalents but anything under is going in!

However, planning on starting an envelope system so hopefully by march I will have €500 saved up to pay for my wedding dress! :)

            Hello everyone

Once again Sue, I am so sorry for declaring SPC 6 so late. I have been potting all year, albeit only little amounts, I have just been really unlucky with my health over the past 3 months. I spent some time in hospital and I couldn't get home to crack open my pot  _pale_ T'was the first thing I did on exit!

Anyway, I would be grateful if you would include me in the challenge again this year please Sue and Sparky. I can't guarantee I will manage a lot of posting as the thread runs so fast I can't keep up with it but rest assured that I will definitely be potting and I will do my absolute best to declare on time in November.

Please will everyone cross their fingers that I get a little bit of decent health next year? (I have been ill since 2002 :() I am crossing mine for everyone else

            Hugs, Gap xx

A very warm welcome back, girlatplay! Not that you ever went away, but I thought you had. A bad word thought. :(It's so good to see you :D, though I really sorry to hear you're STILL so rough! I'll be with you asap after doing this post.

Of course you can join us, Tiggyw00 and L1bby. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

L1bby - well done on saving the papermoney!! That's the way to save.

OK, so for this year I have 3 tins

One is for the really small shrapnel which I will change up from time to time and add to.....

The main tin for £1 and £2 coins......

Finally one of those tins you cant open except with a tin opener, embossed with five pound note images, and you've guessed it..... Aiming to pop the odd £5 note in when I am feeling flush

You're well planned out, ChristmasCarol, keep budgeting well and saving hard and you should get there ok. Save wherever possible. :D
Sue, I daren't imagine the logistics of working all this out. Who posts who doesn't. WOW.
            Thank you.

Oo I potted some change. Am not going to count, I'll just obsess!

Am saving but I don't know what for. Could be a car, could be a holiday, could be the dentist.

I wonder if it more likely I will be saving to pay off yet another loan.

I don't do logistics, Buffy, well not often anyway, but I do know that the majority of those who visit the thread regularly save most!! :j It's good to see you making more appearances - do keep it up as it's great to see you, really it is.

Leave the loans aloan (I know...bad) and look ahead to something good like a holiday...well,so long as that doesn't involve another bloomin loan. Take care of yourself and you cash, Buffy. ;)
Not sure this potting isn't turning me into a scrooge!!!

It does that to us all, don't let anyone tell you any different.

Right now I have bored you all with things that are you do naturally I shall announce my grand total of potting!!! £9.57!!! Yay!! Well done!!

            Right proud of myself today!!!

You've done brilliantly, sort_me_own_yard, keep focused on your strategy and you'll make it. :D

            Fantastic, Eyebright!! :j
I need to play catch up with this thread and change my number, but been so busy I have 2 gifts left to knit for Christmas with long sections involved so hopefully be done before next week.

All the very best with the kitting, happycrafter, but could you please note that you'll now find your No is a lot earlier than you thought as - you already joined yonks ago! :wall:

            Well done, JustKaren!

You lucky so and so with those 2 x £2 coins, Lynsey!!! They must be like a ruddy fairground. :D Hold onto your language too! That ******** outburst was disgraceful! Mind you, I agree with you.

Oh dear, Sams, you're almost making me tearful 'n all. Roll on Friday for you. :)

An excellent ideas with the envelope, tatabubbly, what incentive to save for too eh. ;)

What a filthy day! At least it is here, blowing a hoolie and pouring down. Still 2p from Tesco's counter, presumably a previous customer had left. I've had a very painful and swollen knee for the past 3 months, but today had fluid taken from it and a cortizone injection - but MUST rest it for at least a week...all over Christmas!! :( Bless my darling hubby. :kisses3: Though we're off to DS & DIL for Christmas Day!! Ah well, hopefully it'll soon be better. :)

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers now as they're all done and simply need swapping over. You'll see that there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :grinheart Please change numbers ASAP folks.

If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!

            Very many thanks indeed.

            Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't be shy, we're a lovely lot, so come on in.:grinheart

Hello everyone, just looking in to update my challenge number.

There are certain numbers in my life that have great significance, and 160 is one of those numbers - so very pleased with it

Many thanks to Sue for all your hard work.

I don't post much on this thread, but if I get any loose change it goes in my pot. Hopefully when I start ebaying again in the new year, I'll get a few cash buyers and their money will go in the pot too
