Lynne Big congratulations on your pass! It sounds like you have been working really hard x:j
Crimson addict - how cuuute is that puppy - bless her, may she bring you lots of happiness:)
SAMs - bad luck on the car - never a good time for things like that - but it always seems worse at this time of year!
Wow it seems no matter how busy we all are and how much this time of year seems to be just spending we are all doing amazingly well with our potting!:j
I have added £10 to my pot today from taking lunch to work the past two days and a further £7.50 in change from Xmas shopping. Nearly finished now so will be adding more to the pot by the weekend:T
A big welcome to more fellow newbies BE AWARE this potting lark is VERY ADDICTIVE :hello: although as a fellow newbie I have to say everyone is really friendly xx:D
Still looking for my first road kill!!!:rotfl:Meowhouse SPC #7 no 199 £560.58

Merry Christmas everybody :xmastree:0 -
Hi Sue, I'd like to join as a newcomer, can you add me please? I'm thinking of having a holding pot and will transfer money to a sealed pot regularly. Will put change from groceries and other shoppings, roadkills, any saved money by not spending - APART from £2 coins that I'm going to save in another jar
As I also joined Frugal Living Challenge, I'm not going to spend money on a pot but will decorate and seal a glass coffee jar with Cath Kidston stickers or the decor tape I bought from Poundland.
You'd like to join us and we'd love to have you, evuka. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
evuka, well done you on being so frugal pot wise. The idea of a holding pot is also playing things safe, wisdom in play again.
I bet you're chuffed to bits with your carpet, nikki2804, I don't blame you either. Enjoy it.You need to look after the kiddies too and half price is pretty darned good.
Ah, not bad at all, VickyA, 20p a day (if we're that lucky) isn't too bad and if that's all we were able to save is a heck of a lot better at the end of the year than nowt!
Don't worry, Habibiboo, you're not alone with those Christmas spends. Not too worry, it'll soon be New Year. :undecided
Well done, nikki2002-2008 and good on your DD.
...and there was me thinking you were doing your own lunches, 32b3! *rolling eyes*
Another one shelving out for lunches eh, EchoDelta. *rolling eyes again*rosyq wrote:Sue Christmass day will be fine :rotfl:
oooooooh! Now there's an offer I can't refuse, I'll be like Santa, only coming once a year! In a manner of speaking. Why are you laughing, Rosy?
Meowhouse wrote:A big welcome to more fellow newbies BE AWARE this potting lark is VERY ADDICTIVE :hello: although as a fellow newbie I have to say everyone is really friendly xx
Oh very well sad, Meowhouse, tis true though.
I must commend you on being able to pot money you'd otherwise have given away on lunches! :j Who's a good girl then.Right, have a good night, folks, and a good day tomorrow - til the rain comes.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers now as they're all done and simply need swapping over. You'll see that there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :grinheart Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x
Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. OK, so for this year I have 3 tins
One is for the really small shrapnel which I will change up from time to time and add to.....
The main tin for £1 and £2 coins......
Finally one of those tins you cant open except with a tin opener, embossed with five pound note images, and you've guessed it..... Aiming to pop the odd £5 note in when I am feeling flush
Thats the plan anywaySPC2014 - member no. 122

Sue, I daren't imagine the logistics of working all this out. who posts who doesn't. WOW.
thank you.
oo I potted some change. am not going to count, I'll just obsess!
am saving but I don't know what for. could be a car, could be a holiday, could be the dentist.
I wonder if it more likely I will be saving to pay off yet another loan.

Not sure this potting is turning me into a scrouge!!!
I have had a serious change in spending habits today, each Christmas i go shopping armed with two envelopes with money inside and my childrens names on the envelopes I always go with a list and a budget of how much that particular present will be. If I get it cheaper then the money goes back in the envelope well not today....I had a £5 voucher for a spend over £50 rather than putting the money back into the envelopes I tucked it into the back of my purse then potted it.Second habit I have broken rather than being insistant i go shopping on one day and bringing all the presents back in a oner I have come away knowing i can get things a couple of quid cheaper here and there online and I am going to order them again pot the differance!!
Right now i have bored you all with things that are you do naturally i shall announce my grand total of potting!!! £9.57!!!
broken down: £5 voucher saving, £2.50 as made dear son take a pack up, £1 from parking a bit further out of town and walking a bit further!! and £1.07 of shrapnel in purse!!
right proud of myself today!!!BSC no.370 AD March 14

Morning all and more new potters - welcome and good luck.
lynnejk - ouch!! Cars are expensive at times, we need to think about changing before the costs start increasing.
We needed a headlight bulb replacing today, but had one. Job done - I did hear a few swear words I've never heard in ages though!!
I potted 2 x £2 coins, gratefully received from the s/scan till.
I'm trying extra hard to get to £100 before 2014 starts.
Very mild here, long may it last.
To those away on holidays for Xmas - you lucky ******** (one of the words I heard this morning). lol
Enjoy.
