  • Hi everyone

Well after yesterday's excitement & anticipation of putting my first contribution into my pot it ended up being a no spend day!

DOH ended up leaving my wallet at home!

So no money for my new pot....

Except then as I was feeling really downhearted trying to get another tissue out of my coat pocket for my blasted runny nose! there it was.....

My very first contribution in the corner of my pocket:)

A shiny new 1p coin YES I know one whole penny just for me for my very first contribution to my very first pot!:j

Well I've made up for it today as I had £4.50 in change to pot and also decided to take from the house keeping money, the money I paid for the papers last weekend - a big fat fiver! Normally I wouldn't bother BUT NOT ANYMORE I have a lovely pot to feed!

    So a happy £9.51 potted

Really glad to hear your good news Nell - I too have had chemo and radio therapy this year after a diagnosis of Non Hodgkin's lymphoma - hopefully now I'm through the worst and just waiting on a scan in the new year to confirm that my cancer is now blasted into oblivion!!
Keep your chin up and do as your body tells you and you will beat the cheeky blighter!:D xx

  • Haven't been a good month.
My relationship with my ex/now boyfriend again is going really good but my relationship with my parents has gone really bad - even before they sussed that I was with him again... So i just feel awful again. I've lost my sister,my friends and my parents in the process.
So now my home doesn't feel like a home it feels like i'm in a prison -
my mum is constatly questioning me, looking over my shoulders, my sister is not talking to me and treating me like rubbish and my friends say i've betrayed them by not telling them i'm with him and that I have changed when i saw them today whilst i was with him but in actual fact i was angry with my sister and shouting because i couldn't get a word in on the phone to her and apparently i was "showing off" because i was with him. So today has been awful. along with every other day so far. Sorry - rant over. I'm just struggling again :(

I found 3p in my room so that's been potted.
I'm doing what i can to save money to eventually afford a flat at least in the next few years

Well done, Modesty, not towards a laptop is it?! ;) A bit naughty, but irresistible.

Hi Emily, it's brilliant to hear you've had such a wonderful time. :D Good to know you're back and starting to save hard...for the next trip maybe?

I just potted todays change, £5.20. I am off work for the rest of the week, so not sure what effect that will have on my spending. I need to get some tyres for my car but have no other plans to spend

Why not keep whatever money you get, 32b3, and pop it in a 'holding pot' (see the 1st post on the 1st page) it could well help when you know you have expense coming it up.

Hi mossy, what great news and well done your DH!!! :T You've a wonderful holiday to look ahead to and time to get the family healthy in between. Yes, the renumbering is a big job, but I can't stand thoughts of folk thinking we've got well over 2,000 members when it's wayyyy less! A job so worth doing. Old members are more than welcome to return but will need a new number. It'll be a lot less posts for me to worry about putting on and running between to put Targets on.A much smaller ss for sparks too.

    Oh very good indeed, keza.

I genuinely didn't mean anything untoward and my "natural" way of posting is in a jolly and jokey type way, which seems as though it didn't come across in that manner. :(

Anyway, 50p potted today. Feeling virtuous as the tin is getting heavier. :D

It's ok, Vicky, we just need to be very careful of what's said on here, even in jest, as you now know it can all too easily be misconstrued. Right now, you concentrate on your savings, you can still be jolly and jokey, but within bounds.

Oh well done you, getting-there-slowly! Could that sheep-shaped pot possibly be called a....sheep maybe?!

What can I say, MissE, aside from you always get one - and you are it! Maybe the not quite sealed pot could soon be sorted.

Maybe I'll just concentrate on the latter part of your post, Meowhouse, in saying very well done! Though I'm delighted you found that 1p as something tells me we'd never have heard the last of it. :rotfl:

Oh dear, LeopardPrintsAndTea, it doesn't sound so good for you. One thing you should be asking your family is "who's life is it to live?" It's your life, you have to live it so be happy with your BF and yourself. Try your best to settle things with your parents, especially at this time of year, and if your sister starts an argument with you, tell her you're not interested and put the phone down...an argument can only take place if 2 people argue! ;)

Oh, another one, mumof3plusoh, very good.
    Goodnight, potters, sleep well.

Sorry if I offended anyone with my reply to VICKYA - I took it as a joke and replied in the same vein, after the talk last week of money in the playground etc.
