I see people potting small change quite often and wonder how big are your pots? I only put pound coins and some notes in, and my pot already feels too full... (It's a savings tin from poundland.)

    :)

    Hello :D

I pot all change left in my purse at the end of each day. I am on my second pot, well they are tins really, the ones out of the £ shop. The last one was my little pony, the current one is coca cola. I am expecting to use 4-5 tins this year (based on the fact it took me 2.5 months to fill the first one) but that obviously depends on how much change I get

Hi there, What is the Fiscal Fast?:)

I stumbled across a thread on MSE about fiscal fasts. Basically you don't spend ANY money for a week, or whatever amount of time you determine. I've seen people with NSD (No spend days), not sure if that came from this thread/grocery one or else where. :)

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3832203

I watched some of Jeff Yeager's videos on you tube and thought, yep this is what I need. Some hardcore 'don't spend any money on groceries' time to really help me think about how much I fritter away! I am really bad at keeping to my grocery budget! Mainly from 'popping' in to the shops to pick something up and walking out with £20 worth of stuff I didn't really need. I haven't read all of the thread, just the beginning bit and then the last page. The challenge is doing me wonders and I seem to be so blessed by lots of unexpected free food! :A

    :THello potty potters!
I had a £1 bet on the grand national today and won £29! Yay!
£10 treat for hubby, £10 treat for me ( new lipstick I think) and £9 in my pot! Sooo excited :T:T:T
  • Well done Pickle :)

another £4.50 into my tin this afternoon, change from our trip out to a National Trust place. I have counted the change out of my 5 year old daughters which came to £11.26. I have taken the change and gave her £15 in notes which we took to the bank. Have put the change in my tin so its feeling lovely and heavy :D
    Moving on up :o SPC #382 ~ £40 banked

  • That sounds interesting mossy but DH is a bit of a saboteur, he spends money on a whim sometimes eg he walks to the village for a paper and spends on a couple of pints in the pub too

As today is the last day of the tax year and I have had only a miniscule amount to put in my ISA this year I decided to count the money in my cardboard tube and bank it.....£17 added to my ISA and siggy :D sealed pot containing pounds and 50p s remains untouched :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely day.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

Pickle29 - well done, an extra treat.
One number on the lottery was my "success".

    Potted 2 x £2 coins = £4.

    Catch up later.
