I took delivery of 3 brand new Pugs last night, my dog gave birth and they are beautiful, she is a very proud but tired mummy.

How exciting! Never experienced that; but we did adopt an 8 week old puppy last year. She's a year old in a month's time. Little terror she is.

I see people potting small change quite often and wonder how big are your pots? I only put pound coins and some notes in, and my pot already feels too full... (It's a savings tin from poundland.)

    :)

I don't know how everyone else does it, but when I took part in the challenge before I used 2 tins over the course of the year. I also found that the pots are deceptive, and while you think its full there is actually quite a bit of space left in.

I know you can get really big tins too :)

Hi everyone. :) My DD is probably now in bed on her weekend away at PGL with the Brownies. No doubt, very much awake!! :D It feels weird not having her here, I think I need to keep thinking she's upstairs in her room on her iPod or something!

My Mum sent £5 for DD as spending money. She was only allowed to take £3 so I have put the other £2 in DD's Colombia pot. I had also already got £3 out to give to her, so I am going to pot £2 of that in a sec and keep the £1 in case I need it for a salad emergency! :D

I am doing the fiscal fast at the moment, started it yesterday. So far so good, haven't spent any money today and free food seems to be appearing as frequently as Sparkys road kill! ;) :rotfl:

Got some quidco cash back so have used that £5 to pay a little bit off the credit card....slowly slowly catchy monkey! :D

Also had some below par frozen sweetcorn from Iceland yesterday, which is unusual because it's usually very good. So I sent them a quick email about it and they have apologised and a £2 voucher is in the post. :T

Mine is a large sealed tin from the 'random cheap shop' in town, I think I paid £1.29. :) It was bothering me that I couldn't describe it any better than that, so I've just measured it! It is 14cm tall and 10cm across the top. It's feeling pretty heavy but probably isn't half filled yet. :)

    Good morning everyone :hello:

My tin is still making a lovely noise, especially as it's filling up quite rapidly. Sooooooooooooo satisfying. :)

Sorting out my purse last night, I potted the shiny £1 coin as I didn't want to let it go! :D

Will try to pot more later, once I've been out to meet a friend.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

Shop-Til-You-Drop - welcome and good luck with your saving.

    frasersmum123 - welcome back.

blue_mango - I use a cardboard whisky carton (70cl one) and that holds approx £670 in higher value coins. I suppose a 1 litre one would hold close to £1000?
I'll need another pot soon as I'm going for a higher target this year and don't want to bank until the end.
I want to take my "grand" to the Post Office in a single visit. :D

    Anyway, potted 2 x £2 coins today = £4.
Should be at my half-way mark in the next two weeks. :j

Have a great weekend, be lucky.

I'm so proud of the mum, Nelly, she is just so serene about it all, I've just had my first Grandaughter and we wanted another dog that would be calm around a baby/toddler, mine has such a nice nature that we just decided to breed from her using a friends pug who is also wonderful around children. I would have liked to be able to have afforded a black pug, Nelly has given me one, she couldnt have been any more of a dream. It cost £100, mates rates on the stud and £100 in vets fees for check ups. The downside will be that we cant keep the other 2 and two friends have asked if they can buy them, so at least i'll still see them.:A

Dog people are the best people arent they x

Hubby just came in and handed me a laarge handful of change :D :kisses3: see he does love me sometimes :D

Counted it up and thats £1.29 in the pot :D ooooo its major heavy now, having a real problem lifting it  still loads of room though.

I have a nice big sealed tin from the cheap shop for any change I can find, including roadkill and any money made from selling stuff (I figure I didnt have the money to begin with so cant miss it by potting it ;)) and a millicano coffee tin that DH cut a hole in the lid and sealed for me with super sticky tape so I couldnt cheat for £2 coins . . . I actually have 2 of these so think DH was trying to tell me he wanted a lot more £2's this year :rotfl:

  • Potted a 50p which I found in the washing machine this morning. About an hour later DH asks me if there was his locker money in his gym kit, I fibbed and said no so now he thinks he probably left it at the gym.
