Re: Hypnotherapy, please remember ladies that there are many many variations of it, and its not just a paul mckenna wannabe with a pocket watch telling you to sleep. I have had 1 session of hypnotherapy and at no point was I unaware of what was happening or out of control of the situation. No ideas were put into my head etc, it was like talking to a friend, no leading questions.
It may not be for everyone but in my own experience, 4 months ago I couldn't leave the house I was so panic stricken, I now go to both towns over 30 minutes away without anxiety, nor do I make myself ill with worry about what might happen while im out or clock watch to see how long it is before I can go home.
As with everything you will find people who benefitted from something, and people that didnt, we are all different as are the professionals who treat us. There are also good doctors and rubbish doctors, specialists who are miracle workers and those you sit and wonder if they got their diploma free in a cereal box one day.
Sorry, didn't want to upset anyone but Hypnotherapy really did help me, and I felt it was fair to give a positive side to that line of help too.
No pennies today as . . . well, I cant be bothered to get my purse again!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Ahh no hun, I knew where you were coming from, and always thankful for anyone who cares enough to offer help and adviceJust wanted to offer support for hypnotherapists that do help. Can only speak for the lady I have seen, she isnt just trained in one type of therapy that she tries to fit to every problem, shes trained in different types and kind of adapts to each client she sees (so hard to explain her as shes a bit mad lol)
Its so hard when you've had a bad experience, I have the same problem with CBT, having heard so many horror stories from M.E patients about them (mainly because most CBT therapists dont believe in M.E or think its a psychological issue) that im scared to even try and go see one. But you and the other poster (whos name escapes me sorry, memory is not my strong suit) have said how helpful it was for you and makes me realise that I have allowed the bad experience of a few jade my opinion and avoid a medical option, where I should have gone for 1 session and come to my own conclusion as to whether it was right for me.
Unfortunately I have terrible trouble getting across my point and I think people sometimes think im having a dig at them or being blunt/nasty when its just I cannot convert my thoughts into words properly as my cognitive abilities are so badly impaired by my M.ETo kind of put it into context, there are moments when I cannot remember my own childrens names, and once I got behind the wheel of the car and i'd forgotten how to drive, including how to turn the engine on
I think even now i've probably not made it any clearer:rotfl:

HaHa Jakes-Mum, that made me laugh - I have M.E too so completely understand where you are coming from!! I am quite eloquent most of the time (well, I think so), and then the next minute I can't remember the word for "table" etc. At work, I was trying to say "stapler" one day, and literally couldn't find the word, it took me over 5 minutes to find enough coherent sentences for the word to be guessed by which time I didn't care if I had a stapler or not, and I had tears of frustration pouring down my face. I have a sleep in the afternoon (work part time to accommodate this) and one day was asked to work later to attend some training. I had to go and see my senior manager - shaking like a leaf - (me), to say I couldn't as I needed to sleep. Now to anyone without the illness I can just imagine what they were thinking........ but at the time I was so worried about the consequences I couldn't even think. Good luck.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Hiya all, hope everyone's OK with this flippin weather.
Jakes-mum you're one of the best posters I know, always interesting, funny, express yourself well - so don't start thinking you're not, OK? Best of luck if you decide to go for more help.
It's been a lean few days but today I potted £1.50
Supposed to be walkies this weekend but decided best not given the flooding. So a day out in Portsmouth it is, I like Portsmouth especially the naval museumThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Lol happy saver, we play 'guess the word' too! It usually starts with 'wheres the thingy, you know that goes with the thing, the big box, on the wall! With the pictures on . . . Umm . . Umm . . NCIS!' DH 'the remote control love?' Me 'YES!!' Usually followed by an incoherent rant about missing words :rotfl:
It's so hard to explain M.E isn't it as there doesn't seem to be any rules. I have a 3 sleep cycle, insomnia, sleep that does nothing and hibernation. Each can last between 2 and 6 weeks before I move on to the next, currently it's sleep that does nothing stage (which I prefer to insomnia because at least for 9 - 10 hours I'm not aware of how tired I am :rotfl:) hibernation is physically can't wake up and will be unconscious for about 12 hours and spend the other 12 fighting the feeling of exhaustion
Aww ty saver upper, I'm thrilled to see the outside of these 4 walls!
Well you've all made me go get my purse because if I keep posting without adding potting related info, Sue will stick me on the naughty step, and that step is hard! She doesn't even give me a cushion to sit on! :rotfl: so 26p in the potSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
