Jakes-Mum, "thingy" is a favourite word around our house too. My oh sometimes gets frustrated by my use of it (and embarrassingly he sometimes tells me later how many times I've used it in conversation with others - my brain automatically fills any spaces with thingy). In my mind, I have been having a lovely fluid conversation and in reality I must have been sounding like the village idiot - oops!!
On a potting note, another £ for me.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0 -
Evening all, hope all are well.
Nell, yes the weather has been funny/strange. Sun out one minute, then dark clouds and then rain!
Kingfisher? Nice, we're not posh enough up hers for kingfishers. lol
A single £2 coin potted.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
littlepinkstars44, it looks as if you've got a great start and will achieve quite some savings by November!
That lovely welcome deserves a gold star for you, hummingbird. :staradmin Many thanks.jakes-mum wrote:As with everything you will find people who benefitted from something, and people that didn't, we are all different as are the professionals who treat us. There are also good doctors and rubbish doctors, specialists who are miracle workers and those you sit and wonder if they got their diploma free in a cereal box one day.
Sorry, didn't want to upset anyone but Hypnotherapy really did help me, and I felt it was fair to give a positive side to that line of help too.
A good idea to get Jake's teeth sorted, jakes-mum, our lass was never offered braces but if she were a youngster nowadays I think she'd have had them without a doubt. Her 2 eldest have had them and hers were worse! I know in the 1st SPC we had one girl was saving for hers to be done as she'd refused them when young and they looked a mess (her words), but what a price to pay!! BTW, I don't think you'll have upset anyone with your wise words above as it's all absolutely true and we all need to check things out thoroughly before using, then listen to our bodies from there on. Any doubt..leave it out.lynnejk wrote:What is the 'Quitters Pledge' ??Quitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.
There you are, Lynne, do just as it says and I think you'll find it's a great help, at least I've had plenty who said it did. I hope you're doing well and don't forget to put a search in for all 3 "Giving Up Smoking" threads as well as "My Quitting Smoking diary - Yours too!" there are many useful posts to be found...and the longer it takes you to trawl through - the longer your mind's focused! Re the support, you're welcome, please just ask.
Excellent saving, braddy, you're really going all out which is just wonderful.WishICouldFindMySlippers wrote:Would have been five pound if I hadn't walked past the cake shop....
Shame on you, WishICouldFindMySlippers! It's no good blaming it on the haircut as you could have had even MORE savings!!!
Such a shame, evuka, but at least you have chance to put it all, back in time. All best wishes with it.
A fantastic amount to start you off, kindofagilr, very well done! :j
I'm with you in hoping sparky's ok, LC 2, though not quite for the same reason. I seriously do hope all's well with him.AlwaysHappy wrote:In my mind, I have been having a lovely fluid conversation and in reality I must have been sounding like the village idiot - oops!!
You're so very well placed here, AlwaysHappy!! :rotfl: Thanks for a good giggle with the above bit.
Don't get worrying, Saver, we all are only trying to help each other and you did so in a good way too. BTW, well done with your siggy! :DDon't worry about the eloquence either, actually you're at home in a sense as I'm a lot like that. Thank Heavens in doesn't show in writing, time to think before using the words. :rotfl:
Very wise thinking with the walkies, Rosy, as we might have lost you!
That's an amazing sum you've found, diddley, a really good start. :jnell36 wrote:Completely off subject.....went out for a 40 minute stroll yesterday (longest walk since last Summer - woohoo). Walked down by the stream near home, and saw a beautiful ?Kingfisher darting along the waters edge. Made my day
Brilliant news, Nell!!It doesn't take a lot to be put a huge smile on our faces, but you couldn't have seen much prettier for sure. Beautiful birds.
What can I say, Lynsey......:silenced: I bet you've got them there somewhere.Have a good Wednesday, SPCers, and PLEASE keep SAFE!!!
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.

Potted £4.98!!
Yes Jakes-Mum I miss our pin up too
I will look all around Liverpool on Saturday and will put some posters up!!!
DH has driven me mad today I'm sure he does it on purpose he very kindly took all the towels up for me then what did he do? Put them on top of the bedding box he obviously couldn't lift the lid up :mad: Then I asked him while he was out could he pick up some milk eer he forgot !!! but the worse thing he has done was borrow £20 out of MY POT :mad::mad:
and paid it back with a note when I told him I wanted change told me that I have issues with that pot!!! and its all money so what is the problem. The problem is the note doesn't fill my pot the same. He is now saying I really do need to get a life if my life revolves round a pot and a scruffy one too.

Oh dear luckycharlie, if its a crime to be so attached to a pot, I think a few of us here are guilty. I honestly think if I got broken into it would be the first thing I checked if it had been taken. I lift mine and rattle it, and stroke it fondly as I add my cherished coins, honestly, perhaps I should take it out tomorrow for valentines day.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0
