Ahh ty ladies, its a long running part of my life and I mostly just get on with it
as an aside, my dinner was lovely and no-one woke up in agony this morning so pretty sure I didnt poison anyone
made lasagne tonight and even though the mince 'felt wrong' (don't even ask, you all think im crazy as it is!) still made it and fed it to the masses so am slowly fighting the demon . . . 6 months ago I would have thrown it in the bin and gone and bought all new mince because of that
Thank you for the CBT idea saver88, ive had hypnotherapy which did help tremendously, can now actually leave the house without panicking about what might happen while im out if I had accidently eaten something that disagreed with me (thus guaranteeing I would be ill) I havent had CBT as 1) they really dont believe in M.E and I worry they will try and convince me its all in my head, 2) my sister has had 4 lots now for her own anxiety issues (she also has M.E) and its done nothing for her
and 3) I cant get to the nearest clinic to have it :rotfl: might go back for another round of hypnotherapy though. have kid of been putting it off as its £65 a session but my mum did say she would pay for me to go again so might take her up on the offer
LC2, I would love to say the cake was amazing . . . . but you forgot to add the picture :rotfl: :rotfl: The other picture made me smile though
No pennies at the minute as ive left my purse in the kitchen and cant be bothered to get up :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

lynne, a gold star for you for a lovely welcome. :staradmin Thank you and all the very best in quitting!!
So, is that good news, ETO, or are you a little reticent financially speaking about going back to work? Oh, you've got a really wonderful time with your little darling; I loved it when ours crawled, but by heck don't they soon start to scuttle about. You're really wise, ETO, keep watch! :A
Ok braddy, I guess a pinky promise is as good as I'm going to get so I'll stick with it.Well done on your savings!!
Hopefully things will be a little easier in the following months for your saving, Pickle, are you budgetting as well as possible? If not, try a little harder. If you already are then keep plodding on, you'll get there.
Good work with the ferrying of friends night, Saver-upper.A good way to make a few quid while catching up.hickles wrote:My friend bought me a new money box today so more to fill and shake! Yeah I have already broken one (shaking whilst walking downstairs not advised :rotfl:) hoping I managed to find it all. I now have 4 pots - copper, silver, pounds, double pounds
You sound like a total hazard everyone tries to avoid, Hicks. Walking in flooded areas - and now - shaking your pot whilst walking downstairs??? Think ahead...before you do yourself a mischief.ModestyB wrote:SUE! Thank goodness you're back, all right folks, we can call off the search party now. Hope you and family are all ok Sue. It looks horrendous where you are. (((Hugs)))
Is Sparky ok Sue? Haven't heard from him since he came home from NY.
It does look terrible on the Somerset Levels, Modesty, but the problem is though that people wanted it to flood for wildlife, but it was never going to work while being below sea level. A case of sounding good in the first place, but.......! Hopefully we MAY get some dry weather and their homes will dry out, but it'll all happen again for sure.
Re sparky, I've no idea where he is, I've still heard nothing in reply to my e-mail, I even sent a PM to make sure - but nowt!! I'm beginning to worry about him as he always says if he's going away or to friends.
Save hard, Vicky, and all being well your dreams of a GP ticket for your DH will come to fruition.
Don't you worry about Tilly, Nellie, she'd soon get used to it...wouldn't she!
Lovely to see you back, hummingbird, I hope all's well with your Dad.luckycharlie wrote:That's disgraceful !! Been looking at the pictures of the floods this morning didn't realize it was so bad funny how we are not getting this news here obviously we know you are flooded but had no idea it was just so bad hope things improve soon for you. Why have we not got flood relief boxes out? would love to help and I know plenty of other people here feel the same!!! Think I will ask our local ASXX what they think !!
With regard to food parcels to flood victims, LC 2: braddy wasn't saying she couldn't get to shops for food, she was just saying she hadn't been out for a couple of days and that the south west was cut off from the rest of the country due to the rail damage. It's only natural that it's going to take a fair while for the Dawlish line to be fixed, it's a he*l of a mess. With regards to those on the Levels - T!sco went by dinghy with food and medical needs to those folk cut off on the Levels last year This year a boat and staff have been laid on to ferry folk to and from work/shops etc. Pretty good I'd say, but it's at a cost of £1,000 per day!! Sorry to hear you've been rough, LC 2, but I'm pleased to hear you're better now. Just make sure you don't overdo things on GS7's Birthday.Saver88 wrote:SUE- I'm back to square one tomorrow!! Have got DH onboard, we have 2 fags each to last us tonight and he has been to the shop and bought us each an ecig and lots of chewing gum. So it may have took a bit longer but were going to do it together and hope for the best.
JAKESMUM- have you tried CBT for you phobia? I know how you feel as I have a phobia of vomit, along with terrible health anxiety. And I can honestly say CBT helps. In my area you can just do self referral to the nhs via the Internet. I hope it eases for you and one day you manage to break the circle xx
I hope today has been a good one so far for you both, Saver. Brilliant news that DH is with you as it'll make a huge difference. I always feel sorry for those with a partner still smoking, but our neighbour has gone 16 months without giving in and her DH is a chain smoker!!! BTW, a gold star for you for the great advice to jakes-mum. :staradmin Thanks a lot.
Take note of Saver's advice on CBT, jakes-mum, and I really hope it works.blue_mango wrote:Today I felt sooo lazy......but I've forced myself to exercise for almost an hour, so paying myself a fiver for that. Well deserved.
An excellent idea, blue_mango, very well done, and good to see you dropping in. :j
Ah, good to see you, mummalove, and know you're still heartily committed to saving.
2 days running that I've managed, between showers, to get all my washing done, brilliant!! :jKeep up the amazing saving, SPCers, you're all doing wonderfully well!!
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
Sue x

Evening All,
I have been quietly potting away, lurking around the board but not posting...sorry.
I have had a few things on my mind and I am a woman that cant multi task so I have needed to sort the issues with my pension and now it is I can carry on.
I have no idea what I have potted I am aim for a min of a £1 a day, I just tend to pot my change in my purse and thing I save on. Yesterday I went to Waitrose to get my free brew rather than buying one at the rugby club next door when watching my son play! The £1.50 I saved went into to the pot!
I signed up to Asda's 3 month delivery service for £15 the other week. I am hoping this will help me reel in my food bill. I will plan my weeks worth of meals on a Thursday only ordering what i need that week and have my delivery on a Friday ready for the weekend. I also hope it will help with my battle of the bulge!!
Any way I have rattled on enough now!
take care all

Morning all
I haven't been able to keep up with the last week of posts because I was ill and then away for the weekend. I hope everyone is getting on ok with potting and with life in general
I came back from my weekend away with a purse-full of change and reckon I potted about £6 as well as another £14 of £2 coins which went in to the terramundi :j0 -
Morning all and welcome to new potters - save, save, save.
A few not well, get well soon.
Not a nice day today, but won't complain as others have much bigger issues.
I potted 4 x £1 coins and a 50p = £4.50 added.
