Welcome! Please read Sue-UUs opening post.
I had one of those tins and it was a right pain to open. I have a reusable one now.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
I also wanted to ask about paying coins into the bank, I know that money bags need to be full to the correct amount but is there a limit to how much you are allowed to pay in? I bank with Barclays and lloyds tsb if that is any help!
I bank with barclays and they let me put in as many as i like. The only time they limited me was about 3/4 years ago they said it would be better, if i had a lot of bags, to come in on a day when they are quiet (not Saturday in town). The smaller ones have never minded though.Broke_Kitty wrote: »Hello all, please can I join this challenge? However, if you read the first post of this thread Sue kindly explains how to extract your money without ruining your pot. There are lots of great tips over there. It contains all the rules and any other info you may need to know. Once you have read it, if you have any further questions we will all be very willing to help.
Sue will be along as soon as she can to give you your very own number

Hi LC 2, I'm glad you said about Nell, not just me thinking that she's a bit longer than normal in coming on the thread. Hopefully, she's tired after all the revelling after her illness.moomin wrote:£1.39 in the pot today. I'm already looking forward to emptying it!!
It'll come soon enough, moomin, though you want more in it than you have now - don't you?! :eek:SpiralingDown wrote:Can I consider any cash found on sons bedroom floor road kill?
I've been putting everything I've found into a tub for him but I'm now thinking if he just leaves it on the floor I may as well have it
Oh yes, SpiralingDown! :jIt's amazing just how quickly we all seem to know exactly what is right for us and our families.
Great news on your £22.04 saved, BrandNewStart2014! It's amazing how far doing your own lunches can take you money wise. Keep it up and imagine what you could save through a YEAR....rifling your DH's pockets too of course!!!!Monkeyballs wrote:It's suddenly occurring to me that my pot is probably going to get quite full quite quickly...
What do people normally do when this happens? Get another pot or change the coins for notes then reseal the pot and put the money back in thus taking up less space?
I'm thinking of just getting another pot because if I see a handful of notes in there then my will power may not hold LOL whereas a couple of notes in an ocean of coins is rather different?
Help!
Hi Monkeyballs, most members count it up and bank it and pop the amount on their signatures as banked. However, in your case I think you've answered your own question. If it's going to be too tempting to take it out then buy another cheap pot or use something in the house and start again...treasuring the one you'll already have full. By the time November comes you'll be so thrilled at all you've saved. Well done with the Nectar points and the lil ol lady in M&S, that was darned good of her - you too though!
Re your question, joee: Most banks are fine and gladly take them, but if you have any problems then try your local shop/post office who will more than likely be delighted with them. Just don't EVER take any to Co!nstar, Jo, as they take 10% of YOUR money!!!
Get well soon, skilly.
So sorry to hear about your root canal, Happybeingme, but health comes first so don't take it too hard, though difficult not to with their prices!!
It's so good to see you so happy saving, Twisted Cherry!! Stay strong.
All the very best to you, Hollygym, I so hope your holiday wish comes to fruition, I reckon you deserve it.
Well done, siju.......
.....you too sexyshark......

Hi everyone, sorry not to have been here over the last few days, but I've been quite rough and just had to rest up and sleep it off. Hopefully, I'm now back to what poses as normal, but sorry to keep you all waiting for membership additions and answers to questions.Brilliant saving going on, SPCers, be so very proud of all you've achieved - so far!
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.Sue x

LOL I have a beard... not a nicely trimmed and kept beard but a gnarly old man beard with more grey and ginger in it than black! It's sort of cool, people don't ask me for spare change in the street now
Thanks for the info Sue, I wasn't sure if there were any strict guidelines or anything that I needed to stick to to stay a member of the posse...
Anyway, onward and upward - I've just potted another 75pno roadkill tho and it's been at least a day LOL
Laters all!

Just completed another Ald! shop. Very impressed spend £28.23 today - last week it was £21 odd but today I bought a Chicken in the hope I can do something with it for two days one day roast and one day a pie or something.
Plenty of change to go in my sealed pot, yay!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
