Made a couple of thank you cards from my stash so have potted the £2 I probably would have spent buying them. Going to try and make some birthday cards now too so I can save even more pennies - well I've got all the stuff there so why not?!

Might go out today (first time in ages due to being poorly) so will be on the lookout for roadkill.

Hope everyone has a good day

  • Morning Everyone and I know its a little late but Happy New Year!

Sorry I've not been on for a few weeks, had a few nightmares over Christmas/New Year and am now having to find lots of money to pay for root canal treatment which means I can't save as much as I wanted for the time being :(

I'm still going to pop all £2 coins into the Christmas pot (I potted another 2 in there yesterday:j) and I'll try and shop carefully so I can put all money saved into the holiday pot ~ as the holiday's in August I feel I should concentrate more on this pot for now.

Where have you been collecting them to find that amount?!

    Do you do Adpoints too?

    Hi Moomin, yup I've been doing Adpoints but generally just taking advantage of what I could find... if I'm honest I didn't realise I'd got so many in such a short period of time but off the top of my head;

750 - for buying an ebook
100 - downloading the nectar search bar
100 - for registering for a news letter
1000 - because I complained about a TERRIBLE ready meal (which was good because it only cost me £2 so I was £3 up!)
750 - Adpoints (thats 2x 250 on my old card and 250 on my new card as my old one was no longer valid to use)

So what's that? 2700... No idea where the rest has come from lol, probably rewards for comping or something?

I think points from spending in Sainsburys maybe comes to 20 or so...

Hmmm, I guessing adding it up like this it does all make sense! Wow... I'd set myself a target of £30 - £50 to be collected before Christmas and I'm already half way to the lower end of that! :j

In other news, it's official there are still some kind posh little old ladies out there :)

I was in M&S when I saw an old lady drop her purse. I picked it up (which is no mean feat at the moment with my back) and gave it back to her.

She gave me a tenner and said thank you sonny! I wasn't going to accept it but her purse was literally brimming with notes so I figured it was ok :)

I did tell her not to carry so much cash around though lol because if I'd not picked it up and someone less honest did then she would have lost the lot! Apparently she doesn't trust banks anymore...

Oh well, THANK YOU POSH M&S LADY! and thanks for calling me sonny lol despite looking like a tramp at the moment...

Also £3.45 change potted so that's £13.45 for me today :)

its taken ages to catch up with this post after my weekend away.

I managed to spend £154, so as £150 was my budget, no SP saving....
however, I did a DH pocket raid and managed to get £3.74 to pot, after day out stocking up, I managed to pot £1.32 today. So some potted anyway. :rotfl:

I finished my stressful job at Christmas and was give £95 in vouchers, of which £25 was cash. I've decided to pot the cash as I really want to this dream holiday.

Finally, I have changed electricity companies and received a cheque of £106 which I put into my savings account. While it didn't go into my SP, it still is towards my holiday, so I gain anyway. I won't count it in November, when I bank the SPC money. :j
sealed pot member 100. Saving for a dream holiday for 6!!

    100 SPC 6: £338.14
Jan GC 220.66/400, Feb GC 469/360, March £308/380
