    Happy 01st December everyone!!!

I have my notebook and am just thinking of 5 things I want to achieve for 2014:

    1) Be DEBT FREE by 31st October 2013
    2) Have £1000.00 Emergency Fund
    3) Go to the gym 3 times/week
    4) Eat healthily - one treat day/week
    5) Celebrate my birthday in London/ Manchester [£500]

Things to help me get debt free:

:) This year I'm going to be telling people they won't be getting birthday presents as I'm on my final debt free push... (i normally give family £25 each)... but will continue to give £5/month to charity.

:) I will try to get some overtime in. This last year I took on too much and became ill, so I need to strike a balance. Every little bit will help though...

:) I will be taking part in NSK's monthly challenges, as well as the '1 debt in 100 days' thread.

:) I will be having a Money Tin for the New Year (holds £500) to pay for my birthday celebrations in November 2014... If it's not filled - my spends will be less... and I can only have these funds IF I am DEBT FREE!!!

Wishing you all a great December - we can all accomplish our goals together!!! As Kat says... Onwards and Upwards!!!

    So far this month...

:) £5 donated to Trussell Trust

 Bought numerous winter things for my car and some much needed gloves and new socks from my spending money... As well as my new Money Tin for next year. Have decided to open my current one at New Year... Also bought some lottery tickets <i know... BAD... but you never know!!!>

:) First week's food shop done!!! Bargains on porridge and the rice bags I use for lunches <normally £1.59... now 84p at T@scos!!!> That's lunches sorted for the next few weeks!!!

  • Good evening all- sorry am a little late to the party!

Have updated my signature for this month's challenge.
Spendy day as returned from fiance's house - bought (on offer) cokes (20 cans for 7 quid) and petrol (23.51). His should mean am spend free until Friday. With any luck will get some lift share money this week and some money back from my darling sister (who is very poor at repaying loans I have now discovered.).

Going to have a decadent medicated bath as I have a terrible stress induced rash (great joy).

Hope you all havE a good week

Been thinking about my targets for next year. So far have come up with:

    1. Save an emergency fund of at least £1000
    2. Complete the couch to 5k programme

That's it do far, will keep on thinking!

Good Day one and all! SO many of you with some fantastic goals!! I am impressed! And so many more wanting to sign up which is even better! This month will be superb I can smell it already even if I did start it on a spend day! Food to celebrate with a friend - her house move, my debt freedom!!!

    So my goals for 2014....

    1 - £10,000 minimum by October 1st 2014. (I smell another diary)
    2 - The loss of 2 stone in weight....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
3 - A bit of a life with one "Outing" per month.
4 - Plot, scheme and deduce plans for travelling and book my first flight out of the UK.

    Shouldn't be too hard! Much....

More from NSK later later after chips....:rotfl:

15 SFDs - ok, but not today - went to cinema and bought drinks (free tickets though).
Food budget - set at £300
withdraw cash and place in envelopes - I will do this but not had chance yet.
Drop 1 Xmas party/outing - hmm tricky, I only have 1 and it's my book club curry night, already pretty cheap and cheerful, can I just refuse any other nights out that come up?
Batch cook - my weakness is a sweet tooth, so the kids and I practised our Christmas homemade treat making skills this weekend and I now have lots to choose from.
Notebook sorted - goals for 2014:
    Lose 3 stone
    Clear 2 smallest cc debts
    Clear catalogue debts
Overpay mortgage by at least £500
Chosen DFD as Dec 2015, not sure if this is totally realistic, but I'll certainly be well on the way in 2014.
Spending kept to minimum - ok
    Lunch from home - fine
No sales - good idea :)

Will spend £5 extra on one of my food shops this month and take to local food bank.
    November make £10/day challenge = £874.14/£300
    December make £10/day challenge = £98.10/£155

    Hi, hope everyone's well!
:) Happy to report first no spend day for the month! Put £1 into sealed pot to celebrate!
 Quick question though: I pre-pay my prescriptions by DD and but will be getting more in for over the Xmas period etc. Can I still count prescription collection days as NSD because although I do pay for them, this is a budgeted-for payment?
:o Still working on the goals, but do have a handy notepad at the ready!
 Have swapped the debt free date challenge to Mortgage Free if that's OK as will clear catalogues by end of month and have already kicked the CC into touch, leaving the biggest debt of all - the mortgage! This will certainly be one of those 5 goals for 2014 - I may pop over to the Mortgage Free WannaBe board to help focus me on it there, as well as here!
So, who else has spotted a mass of activity up and down the road as lots of trees, lights and excited children seem to have suddenly appeared today?
