Morning all
Had to post this morning as I just got paid and have transferred the money to pay off more of the ccard and the loan repayment and I am now 12.2% debt free!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!! My target by the New Year was 10% so I am super excited as I have only been debt busting for about 4 months
I am having a very spendy day today as I need to get the normal food shopping, the Christmas food shopping, the dog food for the next few weeks and a new hair dryer as mine is on its was out and giving out a foul smelling odour!
Sorry to hear about your dog NSK, it is such a hard decision to make and must be especially heart wrenching at this time of year
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to everyone who wants/needs them.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Morning all.
M woke with ear ache in the night but went back to sleep after some calprofen and luckily is fine this morning. He has gone off to the panto with school all 400+ kids! Nightmare lol! He was so excitedThey always go the day they break up for Christmas which is a lovely idea.
I don't feel to bad despite waking at 5.39am. A bit gassy though and hope it is just my body getting used to not having a gallbladder! Am moving about well though and can get comfy in bed again and m back to my usual 2 pillowsI drove to school yesterday to get M and his friend and it was fine.
Today I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning, she just lives round the corner and then I must must must finish waiting my cards and post the few I need to post! So probably not a SFD depending on if I need to buy stamps. I have some, but probably not enough.
I had a letter yesterday to remind me to pay my last avon invoice which I had forgotten about - blast! This means the money from the sales has gone and I haven't put it to one side as I should. Must get to grips with this in 2014!
Well done to Abundant on the 15 SFD and for having the 'conversation'. Good job!
Kat - so sorry to hear about your pooch. It would be worth getting the vet to check him over though if you haven't already as there may be something that would make him feel better. There are medications for things like joint pain which I understand can work wonders. My kitty is 18 and earlier this year I was sure she was on her last legs. She stopped eating much and was drooling and lost weight. When I took her to the vet it turned out she had bad teeth but otherwise was fine. She had 4 teeth out and is like a new cat, well eating plenty and perfectly happy, she's not very active bless her. Anyway hope there is something which can help doggy. It's horrid to see them suffering.
I expect a few of you are breaking up today. I would have been if I wasn't off sick!
Happy Friday!'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Abundant - impressive think might as well give up now SFD argh ain't happened yday and need teabags today.
FMess- Brilliant start after just 4 months, I have spent all year got to 23.5% but did buy new front door/side panel 800pounds as well.
Target 9500 for 30.12.13 - 25% payments been set up so looking good - won't count it until been paid out of my bank- just in case something goes wrong.
Thifylass - think I am like you lurking this month, waffley posting in my case as well, targets hmmmm. Overspent on petrol yday as well.
NSK good luck on pooch front, hope things go well.
GSR poor you always something. So annoying this time of year especially.

Morning, feel a bit better about the speeding fine today. Have discovered that I may be able to do a speed awareness course which although you have to pay you don't get the points on your licence and I would imagine it can only help towards my driving and car insurance costs staying low. Also it is just one of those unfortunate things I guess and putting it into perspective there are a lot worse things going on in other peoples lives.
Today will make SFD 12, I need to update my signature. My pay went in today despite me thinking it would be monday so I have already worked out my accounts for the month and hoping to get out to the bank later to withdraw money to put into various purses/pots/envelopes once the inlaws come round. DD is poorly now too so I have two poorly kids and dealing with it on 4 hours sleep! Joy!
I saw that article last night NSK, made me so angry, how dare IDS walk out like that!! Wasn't he quoted as saying he could live on £10 a week a few months?! Really what poppycock! And them laughing at people fighting over food in Tesco, being hungry and not being able to afford to feed your family is no laughing matter. I feel so incredibly thankful and grateful that I am able to feed my family, keep them warm and clothed, I will continue to do my bit by donating to the food bank and clothes to the charity shops.
Another thing, my friends ex husband has recently changed jobs and has a very flash company car, he put pictures on FB, I showed DH and he said "yeah and look at me driving a rubbish 10 year old car" and I said " but it's not about stuff is it, I bet more than a flashy car he would choose having his family back together"
I pointed out what we have and how we should be grateful as some may have a flash car or a fancy top of the range kitchen but it doesn't mean they are any more successful or better off or happier. I think he still needs to realise that it's not all about money and stuff but about living a simple and contented life.
Ooh that was a bit profound!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Hi all, me again!
I like you thinking fyggy, it is easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others and what they have. I am often guilty of this. However I am grateful as, I have a brilliant family, great true friends, a loyal honest loving (but very annoying) OH, loving pets, a good job and my own house and car
I have done the Christmas food shopping todayso I'm very relieved it is all over. This means I have eaten into my January budget already but I know that from Christmas day onwards I am going to be very frugal and I'm hoping to barely spend a penny in January.
I also did my food bank shopping, so I'm feeling really goodLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Good day one an all...
It is FREEZING over here. We have got back from town, had some of Mummy's home made soup and got the fire going but it takes a while to heat the room! I am sat with my hood up and a cardy over my hoody with my fluffy booties and am very close to finger-less gloves next...:rotfl:
It's blowing a serious gale here and I am tempted to have a cat-nap..(loser).. but I have "end of year prep" to get on with. Still working on my goals for the year - although I must admit they never end at just 5.. I usually have a list..
MrsGSR you are right. It's very easy to forget exactly what we have and be grateful for it. Read Sachs28's thread on the first page of DFW who is out of gas and leccy and stuck with a sick baby wondering how she is going to get through to pay-day in 3 days... people are assisting her but it goes to show that the simplest things are the things that make us happy not the things that look nice to others - and like you said - family and friends are what matter not things. All that glitters is not gold. I am sure your OH will come around to that way of thinking... it just unfortunately takes time...
So today I am grateful for being with my Mum and Dad in town today, the my brother is a good kind man who tied my room and made it cosy for me, my simple Christmas time at home and the heat in my home and food Mummy just served...
ON that happy note. I am off for a nap..:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hi Kat, a while ago when I was fretting about not having done my budget right this month and therefore being short of savings, you suggested that I put the amount I was planning for into savings, and live off the rest. It was a step too far for me then. And it was in December, so probably within the last 2 weeks. Well, I got a cheque req from work for £385, for monies I'd paid out of my current account; but our local bank for paying stuff in is where we have our savings and mortgage, so it got paid in there. So in effect, I've already 'saved' it and am now living with much less in my c/a. I will certainly be thinking about every penny for the next 11 days! Thank you!
In total I've saved about £560 this month, which is more than I could have imagined a few months ago. And I'm enjoying the journey!
My aims for 2014 now total 15. But instead of starting on 1st Jan and that being the only opportunity, I feel that each 1st of the month is a fresh chance to start again. 12 chances!
Hope you are getting spoiled rotten on holiday. You deserve being on the receiving end of lots of tlc.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi everyone!
Well yesterday was a NSD today wasn't. Spent £5 in te5c0s, buying clementines, mince pies and 6 muller yogurts reduced from £4.08 to .82p:T They are delish. However, I wasn't laughing when I got home and saw the gas and electricity bill for £618This was due last month, but because they didn't and won't acknowledge my new email address, I always receive my bill late. I was hoping for around £500 but what can you do? So i'll pay it by t3sc0 credit card tomorrow and at least collect the points then be prepared to pay it next month or feb (because of the billing cycle).
Most pressies are done now and I must admit I am still surprised by how much i've spent without hosting my usual christmas partyHowever, I'm feeling very positive and my mentality is certainly changing. I've yet to catch up properly on this thread, so good wishes and hugs to those that need them
Good luck everyone. Not long till the end of the year :A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Traveller what a kick in the teeth.. I am glad you are still positive though... I just thought I have forgot to cancel my gym membership...Grrrr!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
