Just a vest top I was wearing when I went in...no knickers...had a t shirt nightie to wear but husband didn't bring the bag in from the car!!!!!!
I still won't let him forget it 6 years on!!!
Just go with the flow!!0 -
I have birth in a bikini top, had a sheet over me for some of the time as well. It was ideal, minimum mess maximum comfort. Perfect for quick skin to skin as soon as baby was out and looked decent in first photos
. If I'm lucky enough to be blessed with another baby I'd wear exactly the same. 0 -
My time is coming in the next few weeks and I have a nightie that buttons up/down
got it from Peacocks for £6, I have a few that I use to sleep in and they are very comfy and non restrictive

I've been thinking about it, and I honestly can't remember what I wore!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

I took a loose nightie with me, but ended up in a hospital gown. Much better that way - I didn't have to worry about all the mess.Mortgage when started: £330,995

A light cotton t-shirt style nightie which remained remarkably clean :rotfl: this time I have a couple just incase
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I wore a vest top as I was in the pool - didn't want to be completely naked but a nightie wasn't practical. I am glad I did as when they carted me off to theatre (when it all went pear-shaped!) - I still had my vest top on - I wouldn't have had time to change and it made me feel better having some dignity (even though you lose most of it at the time!).
I guess it depends what type of birth you are originally planning and how exposed you feel you want to be.0 -
I wore one of my ex's big, baggy t-shirts that he no longer had use of. Covered everything it needed to. Didn't see the point of paying out for a nightie that would most likely just get thrown away afterwards. Ended up in a hospital gown as I had a section. Just wanted to wish you all the best for when your little one comes along. Hope it all goes smoothly for you
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
With bigger son, I wore a T shirt and the lower half of me was sort of wrapped in a sheet most of the time.
With smaller son, to avoid any embarrassment or unnecessary poking about, I wore all my clothes! Just whipped my trousers/pants off when I felt smaller son start to descend (so about 15 minutes before he was born). This was at home.
ETA - surely you don't have to be completely naked for skin to skin?! Babies are only small!0
