Giving Birth- what did you wear?

Hi all
in my desperate attempt to not think about giving birth my head has thought of related logisitics to fret about
obviously bottom half has to be naked/free access so things aren't impeded but I want to breastfeed and recommendation of skin to skin straight after etc, that means I should expect to have my top half naked for when she's placed on me
so what did you wear? I'm thinking a button down nightie is the way forward, or do people give birth naked? I naturally have no shame so wouldn't be bothered about people seeing all my glory but you don't want to be the naked weirdo!
of course, if she comes quickly or i need a c-section all this fretting will be for naught but it's bugging me lol

You would definitely not be the naked weirdo TL! A surprising number of women end up giving birth naked, whether that was their original intention or not

I wore a very big, very loose knee length t-shirt - one that I usually sleep in. It was a good cover-up and easy enough to whip up when necessary.0

Naked both times here
, although if I'd given birth in hospital I think I would have covered up. What with I don't know! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

naked but i kept socks on my feet were chilly everyone thought it was highly amusing that im naked giving birth but had hubbys socks on cos my feet were cold
i got so hot in labor i just started taking clothes off and nobody batted an eyelid until i put the socks on lolThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
I took a nightie with buttons on the front, but in the end I was wearing a hospital gown.0

Yup, most women end up ripping all their clothes off anyway in a bid to get cooler / more comfortable. And by the time all the action is over, whatever you WERE wearing will most likely be covered in goo anyway.
Best bet would be to buy a cheap Primark nightie, several sizes bigger than you need, with buttons down the front to allow midwife to put baby skin to skin if you're still wearing it at the end.
Good Luck!! xx0 -
Love it double mummy, I have to admit that's not one I've encountered yet! :rotfl:
In all honesty though, wear whatever makes you comfortable because no-one else will care - bringing a baby into the world is amazing whether you're in a baggy old t-shirt, a nursing nightie or your birthday suit

I did as above. I can't remember exactly but I think baby was put under my nighty originally which helped keep him warm as well until I was all sorted down there and then he was taken to be weighed x
P.s don't worry about the pain x0 -
I kept a bra on but that was only because I'd forgotten to take it off :rotfl: I was the same as you Double Mummy with DS. Unfortunately they had to be thrown away in the end as they were covered :rotfl:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

I wore a cheap nightie from Primark, it buttoned down and was a dark grey colour. I also got at the time 2 pairs of the La Senza button down pj's for afterwards on the ward as they opened like a jacket it was easy to feed with them xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
