I don't mind legitimate profit, but by profiting excessively on postage you're breaking the T&Cs of ebay.
You don't like ebay's T&Cs, go sell on ebid.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I try to avoid ebay now after many bad experiences. Sometime you get to the point where enough is enough.
Forgive me for sounding simple but is ebid the same as ebay?0 -

Apparantly they don't charge listing fees.The money, Dave...0 -
Thank you all very much for your replies,
I am a little gutted on the state of the packaging of my dress but i did get it for a very good price and it would have cost more in fuel to collect it.
its a designer medieval wedding dress which I need for my summer ball (theme medieval lol)
As much as im a bit put out that the package was very pants for what I paid I dont want to leave bad feedback as the item is brand new and in better condition that the discription it also arived fast so other than the very high postage they provided a good service so would seem very mean to rubish them, lots of people have said maybe i should have avoided the high postage item i normally do however because everyone else avoided the high postage fees I was the only bidder :T
can I just say thank you all again for your advice on this
take care

These people have got "sucker" written all over them
EBay listing £50.00 plus £0.99 postage - "Great bargain must buy"
Same item EBay listing £0.99 plus £50.00 postage -"Total rip off rogue trader, must run squealing to eBay and report"0 -
Break the rules, get reported. Easy.My TV is broken!

Just because a seller states the P&P charge and you bid on the item, doesn't mean you should accept the charge upon receipt of the item if the seller has excessively charged you.
It's one thing to charge 50p/£1.00/£1.50 more than what it costs you to post but more than £20 excess? That's taking the p** and the buyer does have a right to complain to the seller.
I often undercharge or charge the exact amount it costs me to post the item, I lose out on any profit from the end price of the item because of eBay and Paypal fees but as clearly stated by eBay, you cannot charge for those fees by including them in your P&P charges.
This nonsense about time taken to wrap the item/time taken to get to the PO/fuel expenses is rubbish, I wish eBay would do more to stop sellers being allowed to charge far too much. The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

I agree with fay. Blatant fee avoidance should be reported. In signing up to ebay to sell, you agree to their T&Cs. If you disagree with their T&Cs, there's no obligation forcing you to sell on ebay. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Surely another point is what if your item is faulty or never arrives? If you have paid .99p for it and £50 p&p, if you try and get your money back you will only get back .99p as you dont get the p&p fees back.
Great way to scam people so thats the reason I avoid auctions like that0
